  1. My Top 3 producing brown bass lures throughout the entire spring (which is a little tricky to pick as the water temps warm fairly quickly) are a Jerkbait, a vibrating jig and a swinghead. A-Jay

  3. Need to circle back to this one. Cabela's received my return of the FOUR EXPIRED Re-arming Kits they sent me on 24 March, 2021. Just spoke to customer service and was informed by Jo Ann P that I should expect my refund ($325 American) to be processed in wait for it . . . . 4 or 5 WEEKS. Seems ridiculously long to me . . . . That's all. Signed, A long time but now Ex-Cabela's customer. A-Jay
  4. I was lucky to land the one & only sturgeon I've hooked. It was fun and quite a surprise for sure. Hope you can land the next one. A-Jay https://youtu.be/WT2sIbMqvTs

  10. Here too ~ Gusting over 40 Kts ! Last year I was stubborn and tried to fish in that mess. STuuuuuuu- Pid ! Not this season, I'll just watch. Either way ~ A-Jay
  11. It's been 45 days since the OP. And 8 months since this one You've received some valuable feedback here so far. How's your shopping going ? A-Jay
  12. Thanks ~ I've been wet footing it much more since the re-bunk. Funny how that works. A-Jay
  13. Just got off the water. First time fishing this year and it was great. However the catching, not so much. But I did mange to get this footage of the boat going off & back on the trailer. The twin Talons & the Ultimate Bunk Boards do seem to make this little easier. A-Jay
  14. With open water just about every where here, I'm very happy to be wrapping this thread up. And I'm doing it with this one . . . A-Jay
  15. No Doubt ~ And the folks who live through what follows can certainly relate . . . Dressing effectively for an full day on the water, (day break to sunset) especially early season, can be fairly challenging. When early & late day temps start & end in the 20's & 30's and the mid day flow is in the 50's & 60's or even higher, getting the 'layers' just right is like an 'art'. Seems like I'm leaving & returning to the house bundled up for January and at some point during the late morning or mid-day, I'm stripping clothes off like I'm dancing next to a Brass Pole. And that can be a little tricky in the Old Town Canoe. Only to put most all of them back on, one layer at a time, for the ride home. My fishing garment 'gear bag' has gotten fairly extensive, just because it needs to be. Just part of the deal and Totally worth it. A-Jay
  16. A friend of mine shared this. So tonight I'm drinking vicariously through him It's not nearly as good as being there. Cookie looks pretty good though. A-Jay
  17. As I inch closer and close to being able to wet a line, the wx is making me earn it. Ongoing rain/snow mix is expected to continue tonight. A transition to a mix Sunday morning before precipitation ends during the afternoon as a cold front passes through. Normally, knowing there's open water 5 minutes away, I might be flipping out but it is March after all. Still looking at Monday morning as my first time on the water. Might take a ride to Lake Menderchuck North tomorrow just to check it out. So close, and yet, so far. A-Jay
  18. Still making it happen ~ Remaining consistent with this Total Body training and my diet has me feeling pretty lean these days. This one marks the last workout video for the 2020-2021 hard water season. With a little luck, the next several clips might see me holding a few Brown Bass. Stay Safe A-Jay
  19. Decent write up but the article does not change my 'perspective' as it relates to my fishing. While I do believe the moon plays some type of role, years on the ocean & the sweet water, have yet to 'prove' anything to me. When I was an avid night angler (in both venues) New Moon nights were by far, more productive for virtually every species, including green & brown bass. I've always attributed this to the lack of light; still do. While day time angling, I've had some very memorable trips & catches during virtually every moon phase. This makes it hard to get behind any theory revolving around Solunar Fishing Calendars. Beyond that, seems this 'data' is all over the place. For me, the ever changing current environmental conditions trump whatever the moon, sun or any other planet might be doing. Finally, the single Best 6 day stretch of green bass fishing I've ever had In My Life, happened during the Full Moon week of October 2018. Go Figure . . . . A-Jay
  20. Nicely Done ~ Congrats ! A-Jay
  21. This is still pretty hard for me to wrap my head around. There's a very good chance that sooner rather than later, this is only going to get 'better'. And I thought Maxwell Smart's shoe phone was the wave of the future. A-Jay
  22. The very essence of that job description. Some days may be worse than others. A-Jay
  23. I'm an Amazon Fan boy - it's the first place I look for everything and this was no different. But my faith had been shaken, so I double clutched. Lesson Learned. A-Jay
  24. Just finished re-arming my units. Btw, if the gas hasn't been discharged, still showing green, you can re-use it and save the new one for if and when it does. Stay Safe A-Jay
  25. I'm just here for the comments. ? A-Jay
