  1. Brett Hite has close to $1.5 Extra Large in career earnings. And you can probably guess what at least half those bass came on . . . A-Jay
  2. My terminal tackle storage 'plan' is a little different and designed to meet a specific need. I prefer to have a decent assortment & inventory with me on the water. (might even be 3 years worth @detroit1 ) Either way, it looks like this A-Jay

  4. There's something I failed to mention in the OP. And when considering this thread's title & general subject matter, it's a fairly important factor. Virtually none of the water up this way is frozen over yet. Sort of unusual. Not complaining really, just felt I needed to pass that on. Have to admit the lack of seasonably cold air temps & no snow right about now, has me rethinking my prediction already; despite being so early in the game here. Local forecast is wicked mild as well. 5. Haven't used Power Pro in several years. It was ok when I did but I do prefer the Sufix now. 832 has been my go to spinning reel braid for past few seasons. 10 and 15 lb does all the heavy lifting with 20 lb making a few special guest appearances annually. However, I've been injecting some Seaguar Smackdown Braid into the mix and it's making a strong bit to replace the Sufix when the time comes. Which might be a while, the new braids last and last and last and . . . . . . . . #goodthing A-Jay
  6. Hello Joey and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  7. Thanks @Glenn ~ It's all good. Certainly prefer the prevention over the free flow of insanity. A-Jay
  8. I am a regular customer in this deal - Posts show up 'hidden' and in red. I just 'report' my hidden posts to a mod and it usually ends up in the thread a short time later, if not sooner. A-Jay
  9. Not a Chance. That's The "A" team. In May, I sleep with them. A-Jay
  10. Cool ~ Did you ever have to do the car wash test ? A-Jay
  11. While I have had quite a bit of success presenting a jerkbait in the manner @ww2farmer describes so well above, I have also had equal and perhaps even more success with what may be the polar opposite approach. In the more cooler water temps, when the biggest brown bass I'm fishing for are still a bit on the sluggish side, fishing my jerkbait low & slow is deadly. This can be especially effective when the bass FIRST more in to shallower water (relative term), say 10 feet of less. Clearly some can & will come up for a bait, but they will also hunt down & choke a bait slow stroked right off the bottom. They still have to 'chase it' but if they can do so with out going 'up', that can be the deal. So my 'color' choice here goes one of two ways; either I want my bait to Almost match the color of the bottom, but perhaps with just a little splash of color. The other deal is to go completely the other way and use bright stuff; Clown color for instance. On dark bottoms, perch works for me and on a light or sand colored bottom, Ayu is my first choice. btw - in skinny clear water, a silent bait can be magic; just wish they made more & they casted better. 12. After what has been an unprecedented & wildly wacky season up to this point, and without looking back, it’s that time again. After checking out at a couple of different long term forecast predictor’s (otherwise known as complete guesses) I am making one of my own ~ 21 April 2021 That leaves 136 days & a wake up until I'm wetting my next line. https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/launch?iso=20210421T12&p0=5787&msg=A-Jay's+3rd+Annual+Ice+Out+%2F+Open+Water+Countdown+Thread+~&font=cursive So here’s to a ‘reasonable’ hard water season (whatever that means), as well as the fastest possible return to whatever your version of the old normal is. As always, please feel free to add your comments, support, and yes, even the jabs; as I know they're inevitable & always quite entertaining. And while you're at it, don't forget to add a few pics of recent catches. All of which may help to pass the time . . . . Stay Safe A-Jay
  13. I have & use the "MLF" Scale and an Accu-Cull set up. They are both very good. The Accu-Cull is on sale however . . . A-Jay
  14. Guilty as charged A-Jay
  15. We're all crazy ~ Send Help ! A-Jay
  16. I do not fish Florida. However, even when locked on a bed, it seems shallow bass in heavy cover sort of all respond the same to 'noise'; especially when it's close. And it's not always what we what either. Here's some push pole info - One older & one newer. btw - I use a Superstick and like it. https://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/gone-fishin’/bass-fishing-how-pole-monster-largemouths/ A-Jay
  17. I think this is when Lake Menderchuck was born as well A-Jay
  18. No, not me. But while Big Fish Jeff was repeatedly dropping 8's & 9's in the net, I do sort of remember complaining about catching "All these 5's & 6's" ! That's pathetic in itself. A-Jay
  19. 312 Days & a Wake Up ~ A-Jay
  20. Taking care of your fishing buddy is always a top priority ~ @Bluebasser86 A-Jay
  21. My Accu-Cull has accurately weighed a lot fish few the past few years. Both domestically and internationally. I wouldn't have posted it if I I didn't use and trust the unit.. A-Jay
  22. I haven't checked out the newest/latest models of any brands. Current units on my rig are fine, for now and I'd like to keep the new Graph Monkey out of my head. I'd recommend checking them all out in person and see which unit you prefer. Remember that Demo mode is for reference only. Sort of like gas mileage, it may vary. A-Jay
  23. Before making my choice in units, I needed hands on to get the feel of each. H-bird seem to speak to me. So that's where I've been ever since. A-Jay
  24. Nice Bass ~ Congrats A-Jay
