  1. Workout Day 1. I completed three working sets of the five movements planned. I think it went well. Sometimes a decent training day will sort of sneak up on me. This one was like that. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  2. I was unable to improve my position in the State vs. State deal today. However, this season's assault on the local pike population continues. A-Jay
  3. As I step out the door this morning it's an Ultra clear dark sky with stars on stars forever.... Going to be another warm sun drenched day on the water. I've had more than my share. Not complaining. Probably do a lot of moving today, checking several spots looking for that one special fatty. Here We GO! A-Jay
  4. Whassup ! 🤪 A-Jay
  5. Tomorrow is a fishing day for me. Wind speed and direction forecast indicates big water Lake Menderchuck could have potential. So that's where I'll be most of the day. Last time I was there, I found a 'new' semi sneaky drop that was holding bait. We'll be fishing that deal to start hoping a few plus sized smallies are hanging around. You wouldn't know it by judging this week's weather, but our average first snowfall is only a couple of weeks away. My up coming extra time on the water will reflect this. Fish Hard A-Jay

@Catt Absence is a reminder for me that it only takes one accident, one diagnosis, one unexpected phone call, or one sorrowful post here to turn life in a different direction. Staying humble and not taking anything or anyone for granted. Miss you, my friend. A-Jay
  7. The PAWZ pups, Kya (5) & Tank (4), had their annual checkup today. Both are in excellent health from nose to tail. #tankslife #kyakyakya #upnorthpawz A-Jay
  8. Performed three working sets of the five movements scheduled for Workout Day 4 today. Showing the last two sets completed here. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  9. Solid advice. Thank you. 😆 A-Jay
  10. The weather forecast here for the next few days is setting up so that I may have a shot at getting out on some bigger water. It's the only realistic opportunity for me to even see a brown bass over 6 lb. While there are plenty of places locally that are smaller lakes, and I can fish safely almost right into November. A 5 lb fish is probably the best-case scenario there. Although it is clearly a lot of fun, it will not help me achieve my goals for this thread. I'm thinking a marathon on Friday (the 3rd) is going to be where I hit it pretty hard. Jerkbaits all day ! Here we go. A-Jay

  13. I have custom covers for the Boat, Motor & Twin Talons. I can even run both the motor & the talons with the covers on, which when the bugs are bad, I will do. But putting the boat cover on & off solo every trip is a little arduous. So I get whatever I drive through. A-Jay
  14. I agree, Tom. But we don't all have the benefit of sunny California weather all year. Rain, fog, snow, dirt & gravel roads and let's not forget all the bugs on the ride to & from the lake. It's like a battleground up here. 😎 A-Jay
  15. On Sunday, my wife and I enjoyed a beautiful late September day on the water in our Old Town canoe. This north woods morning on Lake Minichuck started off somewhat cool. However, by mid-morning, bright, clear blue skies and flat, calm winds welcomed us. The fishing conditions weren't ideal, but we made the best of it. Soft plastics were the top producer for both of us, with a few topwater & spinnerbait fish thrown in for good measure. We caught a variety of fun-sized fish on this trip, but the laughter and good times we share always surpasses the fishing. We are eagerly anticipating our next fishing trip in the spring. A-Jay
  16. Workout Day 3 for this one. We each have the option to align ourselves with either good or bad habits in life. It seems beneficial habits add up just as fast as the detrimental ones. But oftentimes the benefits of the good ones take a while to realize. Where the bad habits might be a little 'easier.' The shortcut is the long way. And the long way is a shortcut. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  17. We have some color now. I'll be posting a fishing video later and you'll see some of that. The ice storm this spring took down millions of trees so it seems like there is less color than years past but still decent. FYI, our average first snow is 16 October. Just saying. Drive safely my friend. A-Jay
  18. Yesterday, we ventured down the path less traveled. Rarely disappoints. A-Jay

  20. Day 2 Workout for this one. I felt like I had plenty of energy during my training. Adding the 'bands' to my apparatus increases time under tension. I like it. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  21. If you switched out 'most condescending' to 'most accurate,' I'd agree with you. A-Jay
  22. I've been using Boat Bling Hot Sauce since I purchased the Pro-V Bass. It's a vinegar-based product. Having a Black boat, I buy it by the gallon. Totally gets the job done for me on the hull, motor & Talons. Basically safe on any hard or painted surface. https://blingsauce.com/products/hot-sauce?variant=15995706015778&gad_source=5&gad_campaignid=22870656431&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_-OOg4j5jwMVvDcIBR1_GDdjEAQYASABEgLgKvD_BwE 😎 A-Jay https://youtu.be/qwd7bFNTKwo?feature=shared&t=981
  23. Very glad to hear you're on the mend and, perhaps just as important, back on the water. Best of luck moving forward. A-Jay
  24. With a very fisherman-friendly forecasts on tap for tomorrow, preparations are being made for a day on the water. We're switching it up a bit, though. My beloved companion will be accompanying me in the boat once again after a considerable period. We anticipate plenty of sunshine and an abundance of fun as we chase a few fun-sized green bass around Lake Minichuck in the Old Town Canoe. I hope I get to be net man all day. A-Jay
  25. I say @Kayak Koz 's response above is exactly right. This is a well-known characteristic of smaller, particularly manually propelled vessels. When I first started fishing from a 16-foot canoe, I lost more bass than I'd like to acknowledge because my rig moved toward the fish on the hookset. Anchoring is the easy and completely successful solution. Anchoring definitely increased my landing rate, even though my rig might still move a little when I'm battling a fish. Good luck. A-Jay
