  1. Here's my full-size rig going on the trailer solo. Early season so no dock - I carry hip waders in the boat. Also I always trim the motor all the way up going on the trailer. A-Jay
  2. Solid advice ~ 2 bags lasts a couple hundred bass in for us. Makes a killer jig trailer A-Jay
  3. I say Ditch the braid and go 20 lb FC. ^^^^^^^^ These 3/4 & 1 oz jigs are IMO really good for south of the border. https://youtu.be/1to6ti-tlZY?si=ezRpg_4Jui_5nejF&t=698 A-Jay
  4. @Kayak Koz If only it were that easy . . . . A-Jay
  5. A Musky catch of most any size is a beautiful thing. Here's some video of two of my favorites - solo by the way . . . https://youtu.be/ex3v1uogEcg?si=-Lz2BSBHtmiD1cRV&t=330 https://youtu.be/c8ncmrbV3-M?si=lcTImsnXc8ezRuT8&t=504 A-Jay
  6. Same Bait—different bait, I've seen both work, and I've seen both not work. Here's a same bait throw that worked this spring. She took a poke at a jerkbait once and then got it on the next cast. A-JATad took a poke at my bait once and got it on the next cast A-Jay
  7. Things are progressing gradually but steadily. April & October We kept the dogs off it all summer so it could establish. They'll be back on it once there's some snow on the ground. They will like that. A-Jay
  8. Nice fish. So what's it like being in the witness protection program ? A-Jay

  11. Nicely Done ~ Love the "Action Shots" too. Congrats A-Jay
  12. Thank you, but no guiding for me. I'm just a hack who gets lucky sometimes. A-Jay
  13. I get that - However, a 3000 deep spool spinner can hold a bit more 10 lb braid than I'd probably ever need. So I make up the difference with a little backing. As for my connection knot - I look at it like this. My knots don't know where they live. This implies that a connection knot attached to my bait is indistinguishable from a knot attached to my backing. Either it's good or it knot. See what I did there ? A-Jay
  14. When plus-sized bycatch is common, reel size & line capacity matter. These fish are capable of pulling significant drag, particularly using bass tackle. Getting spooled is a very helpless feeling. I use 3000-size deep spool spinning reels & 150- and 200-size casting reels. Usually with at least a little backing, especially with small-diameter braid. 15. Back at it with Workout Day 1. Completed 3 working sets of the 5 scheduled movements. It took me a couple of extra warm-up sets to get into the groove. But I got there eventually. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  16. Hello Dana and Welcome to Bass Resource. Sounds like you guys do a lot of snagging. A-Jay

  18. I've been hitting it hard the past two weeks, my version of that at least. Including yesterday, it's been a bit frustrating, honestly. Water temps everywhere here look more like August than mid-October. With almost a week of cold rain coming in and a couple of the better lakes turning over now, I'm going to wait for a last-minute chance at a Hail Mary. Meanwhile, I'll finish winterizing everything except the boat. Might be able to get into November, which would be unusual. A-Jay
  19. It's a 13-year-old reel. When new, popularity varied. https://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwat3ballistic.html Shipping costs have gone up quite a bit recently. It's worth what someone will pay for it and I think it would be inappropriate for me to put a price on it as I'm not an interested buyer. Good Luck with your sale. A-Jay
  20. SK Sexy Dawg Hard Knock does a lot of heavy lifting for me. And I use spinning gear. A-Jay https://youtu.be/Vsl5A_YmHzs?si=Di4qKhtErmIZaxlg&t=44
  21. IME, triggering fish that have already fed can be a tricky proposition at best. So many overlook timing—just because we find fish on bait doesn't mean they are feeding. At least half the time if I leave and come back at a different time or day. I get bites. That's a 50 percent improvement. Low light surely helps. Good luck A-Jay
  22. Congrats on the cool bait find. I use #4's on my 110 size jerkbaits to handle the size fish I catch on them. #nottoobig A-Jay
  23. After a fun day on the water and a maintenance day off, I was back in the home gym for workout day 4. Completed 3 working sets as scheduled with one exception. For the last two Day 4 workouts, I've performed a bodyweight lat pull-up instead of the cable lat pull listed. I like these and will probably make the move a permanent change. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  24. I think it was spring 2024. Might have been fall. Vision 110 in Shrimp. A-Jay
