Casting to your left, my first post
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I cast with two hands - always have. When using casting gear, I'll often cast from either 'side'. Helps to share the work load; especially advantageous when bomb casting a heavy spinner bait for 6 hours or so. Like anything, takes practice I guess. A-Jay

Oval split rings
I am a big fan of utilizing either the oval or the pear shaped split rings at the line tie. Hate it when the lines slides into the 'notch' on the standard round rings. Problem eliminated with these other shapes. A-Jay

Tying Wire Leader to Braid/Lures
I will simply tie a clip on the working end to facilitate bait changes without re-tying. 20 lb seems like a good size for me. A-Jay

My "Wall of 7 Pounders" Replica Display Arrived Today!
Looks Fantastic Steve ~ ! From the lakes, to the mid's eye and finally on the wall. Bet that felt pretty good. Congrats A-Jay

Tying Wire Leader to Braid/Lures
I also fish braid & a Mono or FC leader at times, but when I'm using the AFW, I skip the nylon leader and connect the wire straight to the braid. I use a uni-knot almost exclusively with this material; both for the line to leader knot and also for the leader to bait/hook knot. If you cinch up the knots slowly and as close to the bait / line end as you can, you may be able to all but eliminate that 'pigtail' effect. btw - with the size of some of the toothy U-boats that inhabit many of the waters I fish, 15-18 inches of leader material is necessary. Good Luck A-Jay

No feedback retrieveing a Senko
This is simply unfamiliarity & inexperience with the presentation. Fish it more and you'll 'get it'. IMO, you'll benefit from it as well. A-Jay

Possible for a replica with weight and pictures?
A large digital print on canvas from a photo is a quality option for sure ~ I use this vendor. https://www.facebook.com/TheAntzlProject/ Mr Washburn produces a high quality product at a very fair $$. A-Jay

What's your favorite way to fish plastics?
Always a bottom contact deal for me. While a constant retrieve does produce at times, a stop & go deal has proven more effective for me. The nuts & bolt of how I fish these baits can be found here ~ A-Jay

New Project...Carpet & Seats
Nice ~ Are you replacing the seats & carpet with the same deal (color scheme wise) ? Or are you planning on kicking it up a notch and going with a wild leopard print ? A-Jay

What's your favorite way to fish plastics?
The swing head pictured (Top & Bottom) is the RPE Tackle Tungsten Swinging Football Jig Head. It allows the hook to be replaced / changed as needed. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-RPETCO.html?from=basres A-Jay

Jackhammer blade paint chipping off
Does this happen on a slower retrieve or mostly on one that's faster ? If it's the latter, the easy fix is to slow down. Also, does your choice of trailer seem to influence the bait rolling over at all ? A-Jay

Poll: Best Chatterbait Rod
I took the long way on this one. Since I like to "Fish", only seemed right. I tried Graphite, Glass & Composite rods for my chatterbait needs and in the process became somewhat addicted to the bait. While each brand may have it's own characteristics, I felt I got a decent 'sense' of what I preferred for the way I fish these baits. I'm usually presenting the baits for brown bass, low & slow and do prefer FC line 15 lb mostly. Ended up settling on a 7'4" MH composite as my stick of choice. Same blank I use for Square Bills, medium depth cranks & open water spinnerbaits. YMMV A-Jay

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO FISH?

Tried Some Tungsten Today
Been a Tungsten user & abuser for a while. Superior to lead IMO when it comes to bottom contact baits; except in silt or on very soft bottoms. Then I'll used lead. First cast while fishing a 3/8 oz tungsten bullet weight in front of a Texas rigged plastic, I set the hook 10 times 'on the tap' - it was small pieces of wood, not fish. I was convinced after that. Working to Stay Lean ~
Such a challenging time of year for me. The temptation to be on the water every day is strong, but knowing how important these workout are to that end, means I can’t be blowing of my training. Eating and sleeping to stay #fitforlife has served me well and may be more important now than ever before. This one felt good. And after catching up on some yard work later today, I could be back on the bass tomorrow. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Spring gloves/mitts
I HATE wearing gloves - But if & when I "Have To", I wear these https://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/gear/gloves/guide-windbloc-flex-glove-f18 Not waterproof at all just good wind blockers, so I don't get them wet. Still great for the cold boat ride early morning up Lake Menderchuck A-Jay
