  1. Great Bass ~ Congrats A-Jay
  2. Nicely Done ~ Congrats and Good Luck tomorrow. A-Jay
  3. I will be trying the Cush-It for the first time this fall on my next trip south of the border. Purchase 4 after last trip. When the big fish bite is on, it only takes one morning to figure out I need something. After 5 or 6 days of balistic bass hook sets, the tissue damage is real. I expect this should all but eliminate the bruising. #rodrashwangs A-Jay

  5. The Golden Rule carries No Age requirement. Just saying. A-Jay
  6. Nicely Done ~ I got out for the first time yesterday. Several nice ones but nothing in the 5 lb class for me yet. While there are a few fattied around over this way, Erie is a Giant Factory. Hope you have fishing weather and can stay on the big girls. A-Jay
  7. Warm air temps had me on the road checking for open water today. Super close on a couple of fan favorites. Might be tomorrow. That would be so good. I'll be checking again early morning. If not Monday, Tuesday for sure. Rigs ready either way. One bit of a bummer is that my PC suffered a catastrophic failure last week, so I can't load, edit or post any pics or video until I replace it. May see reports without both for a while. I'll still shoot just have to have a mass posting at a later date. Probobly going to be a week or two anyway. Here we go. A-Jay
  8. Wow ! Now that's how to start the 2019 open water season. Nicely Done Congrats to you both. Btw, your wife is a Rock Star but you already knew that. A-Jay
  9. Take a Jig fishing . . . . ? A-Jay
  10. Major kudos for the Bay of Pigs reference. Could be a BR First ! A-Jay
  11. Nice. I did some thing similar in my 16 ft Old Town squareback canoe. My version was 4 foam yoga mats glued to the under side of a indoor outdoor carpet. Cut it to fit and simply placed it on the deck the entire length of the boat. It is definitely quieter, but it is also warmer (insulates from cold water), much better and more comfortable footing, and is easily removed to clean dry when need. It's going on 11 years old and is still quite effective. A-Jay
  12. Blame a dog ~ There's enough of them. A-Jay
  13. OK, I'm just going to come out and say it. I have gas and I like it. A-Jay
  14. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resources ~ A-Jay
  15. Thank you my friend. Can't be having no typos in dem dern postes. A-Jay
  16. Lucky human. Glad he was not hurt. Seems people feel that this stuff always happens to the other guy, until it doesn't. I had the distinct pleasure of running a few of those down. Both unmanned and a few that had women & children in them who could not or would not operate these boats. So these rigs were powering along with passengers and no driver. I remember the screaming. Big time danderous coming alongside it and boarding these rigs to stop them. When they were unmanned, if the oppurtunity presented itself, we'd play bumper boats and send it to shallow water effectively grounding it to a stop. Some cases the boat gets stopped but the operator & or passangers were never recovered. Please wear a kill switch when operating your out board motor. A-Jay
  17. Congrats on the new set up. Just picked up that reel myself, nice. A couple os thoughts. The reel doesn't hold a ton of big line, so long bombing cast with 20 lb copoly, mono or fluorocarbon may come close to spooling it. 20 lb braid can be a little temperamental on casting gear as it has a fairly thin diameter. Doable but with the way braids are now, 30 or 40 migjt handle better. 14 or 15 lb copoly is a solid all around choice and eliminates the leader & knot deal. A-Jay
  18. Congrats on your solid Derby performances. Sorry to hear that TR20 is not at it's best. With going on 17 years of service and what is probably 800 plus hrs now on that prop turner, once she gets the TLC she needs, perhaps she'll have you right back at it. A-Jay
  19. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I can relate to your plight. As I also prefer a stick that actually bends both during a cast and while fighting a fish. The majority of my moving bait presentations are currently being done with composite sticks; quite effectively I might add. While not everyone's preference, I am a big fan. Clearly not the lightest or most sensitive blanks out there, which seems to be a deal breaker for some anglers. However, what they do offer suits this old basshead just fine. A-Jay
  20. Nicely Done Paul. Nailed It ! A-Jay
  21. LOL~ Maybe, but I wouldn't want to miss our very brief summer here. Which weekend will you guys be having yours ? ? A-Jay
  22. There's a few ways. Reel from one reel to another. Hold the end and run it out behind a slow move rig and then retie and reel it up. You can 'walk it off' in your yard or a park or anywhere there's room. A-Jay
  23. Me too ! (My wife though) And the gifts are the best part. I got a 110 jr last order. A-Jay
  24. I think you asked me about this recently. I don't really have a favorite reel per say. I do however Love to 'chunk & wind', so whenever I'm doing that and getting bit I'm happy. That said, quite a bit of that happens with one of those Shimano Calcutta 200D's. They truely are Little Silver Beasts. Perhaps take advantage of the TW Demo program and test one for yourself. That's how I ended up with 3. A-Jay
  25. I use somewhere close to 1/3 of the spool backing and the rest my main line. Then BEFORE the top shot gets worn out, I'll end for end it down to the backing. Once it's time, I replace the whole top shot to the backing. A-Jay
