  3. Fenway's all about the snow - I however, am looking forward to a bit more greenness. A-Jay
  4. That's part of our standard pre-mowing operations as well. A-Jay
  5. Before this most recent weather event I was thinking I had a week maybe 10 days at the most to open water. Now, I can see May 1st being more realistic. BTW - I have to admit this thread has garnered far more attention than I expected. A-Jay I hear ya - and I'm sort of the same way - do not like hot Nights at all. But super cold just makes me Mad - like wet hen. A-Jay
  6. Speak for yourself there Iron Balz ~ A-Jay
  7. You're Welcome & they worked Great for me ~ I was an seriously addicted Striper guy for a long time. Chased them up & down the east coast. Good Luck A-Jay
  8. Yes ~ I did use them over both boot waders and wading shoes wore over stocking foot waders. Ensuring they are properly sized & fastened will improve your wearers experience. Also the spikes do wear over time depending on use - check them regularly and replace them before they need it. You'll know what I mean once you get them on. Extremely worn spikes are like no spikes. If you decide to go this route - purchase the install tool & a full set of extra spikes in advance. You'll be glad you did. When new these things will give the wearer a sort of false sense of security, meaning they really work well. However care still needs to be exercised when on that type of surfaces - falling is always a bad time. Have fun & stay safe. A-Jay
  9. Something like 35 Oak Trees - Bad decision looking back. A-Jay
  10. Congrats on taking control of yourself. Keep it up....... I've been working to stay lean for a while now. It doesn't get any easier as we get older but it's worth even second of effort & every drop of sweat. As for being an "exercise freak" - 59 years old & guilty as charged. Good Luck moving forward. #fitforlife A-Jay
  11. I have two - A Stihl Back pack model that's really good and my Go To. And a Toro push model that blows like a Motha but lacks the 'directional' qualities to make it as effective as the Stihl. Sort of like a hurricane on wheels A-Jay
  12. True - The other option is to wait a bit for them to dry out. But I'm afraid if I wait too long, it will snow again ! Then I'm right back where I started. It's a vicious circle I tell ya . . . A-Jay
  13. Yup - I couldn't take it and despite 80% of my property still under a foot of snow - yesterday I started cleaning up anything I could just to try and get a head or it. With today's dumping that put's the whole deal on hold - again. A-Jay
  14. Are we looking at another First to Last ? Sure seems like it. Last season was incredible - This one is shaping up to be just as epic, but on the opposite end of the fun meter. Crazy thing is IT'S THE EXCAT SAME TEAM ! How does that work ? Serenity Now A-Jay
  15. Oh it's even better than that ~ Last fall we got a ton of snow BEFORE the Oak Trees dropped their leaves. So besides the lawn work - once this mess melts in July, I get to clean last fall off my property. Nothing like wet, frozen, waded up, piles of stank leaves all over the place. Good Times This pre-spawn better be EPIC ! A-Jay
  16. Blowing here pretty hard as well. I packed a lunch and made a wide sweep (about 60 miles W then N then E and then home) of my AOR (Area of Responsibility) few days ago. Took most all day & a tank of petrol. At that time some of the small back water creeks flowing into a few of the lakes I target early were open. I was surprised. Despite the main lakes all still being frozen solid, I thought that was a good sign. Not so much today though . . . . A-Jay
  17. That's Bogus ~ I have no desire or need to be out in this mess. I emptied my entire rig last week. Cut & placed some sweet foam matting in the bottom of every space. Seems today is the perfect day to start loading the gear back in. And I guess I can take my time too . . . A-Jay
  18. Snowing here 3 inches on the ground. Expecting more than twice that before it's over. And here I was thinking I'd be fishing in a few days. Silly me. A-Jay
  19. I've been living there for the past 6 months anyway ~ A-Jay
  20. Wandered all over many a slippery Rock Jetty for years up & down the Atlantic coast. Almost all of it at night I wore Korkers - IMO they are the definitive & only non-slip deal I'd wear. They are several models but the Rocktrax is what I'd recommend. https://www.korkers.com/footwear/fishing/rocktrax-plus.html A-Jay
  21. No doubt line watching can be very helpful with visually detecting strikes. However the more I fished at night, the less I felt like I needed to watch my line during the day. Dark nights make line watching all but impossible, but knowing how a bait 'feels' at any given moment is king. That pays off with & without daylight. Haven't been out at night as much past few seasons but still do very little line watching during the day. Can't say for sure if I'm missing strikes, because I can't miss what I don't feel. Hope the ice melts soon, my left eye is starting to twitch. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  23. No Thanks and good luck with all that. We got a taste of that last April. I will openly admit that I'm not a big fan. A-Jay
