  1. Thanks ~ I use a couple of Hero 5 Blacks & Hero 5 Sessions. I use them on 'auto' for the most part but will often 'clean up' the pictures taken from the video with a photo editing software. I'm no tech wiz so you have to know if I can do it, it's got to be pretty easy. Also, I don't want to spend a ton of time doing it either so it has to be relatively quick; which it is. I'll tell you that in my mind the most 'challenging' part of it is keeping the camera running - all the time. It's the only way I can ensure I'll get that 'video or pic of a lifetime'. So that means I have to have several fully charged batteries ready to go (I use 6 for a full days fishing) and I MUST BE WILLING to take the few minutes it takes to change them when needed. If I do not - then if I miss something - it's on me. It's all about what I'm looking to get out of this. There is a loop feature on the GoPro that helps with card space (I use 128 gig cards) and there is even a pole / mount unit sold by YoloTec that plugs into a nav light mount which will power the camera eliminating the need for batteries - I like what I have but that is a very good option ... https://yolotek.com/collections/gopro-boat-mount/products/powerstick-53-bundle?gclid=CjwKCAiAwojkBRBbEiwAeRcJZIGGjqCf3LGhMcu9NzYrpunoj5NR3C-SNr-Onv3X-Yx7Gsx1MqLNkRoCSLUQAvD_BwE Bottom line, this deal has enabled me to capture stuff I would have NEVER been able to do effectively by myself. Really wish we had this 30 years ago - as my personal fishing video library would be massive & seriously impressive. Not to High jack the thread but having your PB catch on video is something any serious basshead can enjoy for a lifetime. Hope that helps. A-Jay
  2. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  3. ONLY 1 month & 7 more days, or 5 weeks and 3 days or 38 more days . . . . And for The BR Members who are currently employed ~ 26 working days (208 hours, assuming 8-hour workday), 12 non-working days including: 6 Saturdays, 6 Sundays, 0 federal holidays (US) Either way - it's not looking very promising at all. Still way cold, totally frozen and Huge Piles of snow everywhere. Day times temps have been unseasonably cooler in the single digits with overnights well below the Mendoza Line. The forecast is calling for snow more this weekend. While conditions can & do change quickly, even if we were seeing seasonal temps for the next 3 weeks, unless they were seasonal for Haiti, I'm betting on a May time frame for any open water. I'll be ready. A-Jay
  4. And that groundhog can kiss my lily white hind parts. A-Jay
  5. I Like That one ~ You've Very Tricky . . . Wonder if hanging a couple of sus-pend dots on one side would do the same thing ? btw - I'm the other guy that reads your posts. A-Jay
  6. Thanks - Yes Sir - screenshots. Rarely if ever even take any Pics. Just be sure to record 'fast' enough to allow sufficient frames per sec. It's the best way for me to fish solo and still be able to get decent pics of me holding my catch. And I've been hanging all winter to make my arms even longer . . A-Jay
  7. OK - we're both gonna have to wait a bit. Still locked & frozen solid over this way. A-Jay
  8. Nicely done my friend ~ Now you're catching on . . . Perhaps try some at the water line or sub-surface release shots. A-Jay
  9. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  10. Kind of insane I guess, but maybe not really. On those flatter, calm water days - especially early summer or early fall when the fish can perhaps be in a little bit more of a transitional funk than usual - the drop shot can save the day. Good Luck A-Jay
  11. Drop shot for me is pretty much an all season deal. I do it shallow, I do it deep and everything in bewteen. And while I would not list it as my 'best' big fish technique, each season it does account for several very respectable bass. (almost always smallies for me) Something I started doing a few sesons ago that helped inprove the quality of fish I caught on the drop shot was instead of using the traditional 4-6 in robo worms, and Dream Shot style baits (mostly long & slender worms) was to use SK Rage Craws, SK Caffiene Shad & Small swimbaits. Clearly 'traditional' drop shot worms are Killer baits - but for me they do seem to attract a slightly smaller version of what I'm grinding to find. Started with the craw, and it was quite a surprise at how well it worked. Since then have added the shad & the small swimbaits. All these baits allow me to 'cover' water with a rig that I usually reserve for spot where I have a decent idea have fish. Being able to keep this bait moving is a great way to cover deep water flats - and the smallies in ths area - choke these things routinely. I will use both a nse hook deal and also a slightly larger straight shank thin wire hook (out the top), when ther cover is light. So there's that. Here's the hooks and more info Chris Zaldain covers the drop shot swimbit nicely here too - A-Jay
  12. Nice ~ So it's a SKI-Boat then ? A-Jay
  13. Taking my second scheduled but 'optional' off day today. Recharging to be ready to blow it up starting again tomorrow. Low carb day for me today - as I will not require as much 'gas in the tank'. A-Jay

  15. I've been eyeballing these things for a while now - seems like a no brainer. Congrats you've just help to contribute to the delinquency of a tackle hoarder . . . . They'll be here Monday . . A-Jay
  16. So once there is finally open water, you'll understand it when I post picture after picture & video after video of Big Brown Bass after Big Brown Bass day after day. A-Jay
  17. A very good friend of mine & superior stick in his own right, is a Stout InvisX Deciple. In fact it was his performance & results with the line south of the border a couple of years ago - that had me finally make the switch. Especially after witnessing him do this with that line - (20lb) And @Catt if you like the InvisX and I'm somewhat hesitant to tell you this but - The Tatsu might be a little 'better'. Have Fun A-Jay
  18. OK - When the ambient air temp in my Lund Cave (garage ?) gets up to a reasonable level to allow for somewhat pleasant video manuevers - I'll see what I can to. An accurate & indepth documentation, including appropriate commentary, could get a little lengthy - so I'm not really into frozen stones . . . A-Jay
  19. From one rattle bait freak to another - You're Welcome. Here's your bait . . . I upgraded the hooks and also tossed in a surprise 'bonus' bait. You'll have to wait until delvery (Saturday) to see that one. Enjoy A-Jay
  20. Perhaps place a few strips of precisely positioned quality black electrical tape on the reel seat foot. Just enough to take up 'the space'. Tighten snugly, however, I'd recommend you do not torque on it - you may strip the threads. A-Jay
  21. Sledding with them the past few weeks has been hit & miss. While the dogs are fine in the recent sub-zero day time temps - me, not so much. So on the days when my eyeballs freeze up after 3 minutes outside - they get their groove on outside in the back forty - by themselves. Once temps get north of 10-20 degrees, they'll be pulling us all over Otsego County again. A-Jay
  22. OK, Mr. Obession - @kenmitch pm me your mailing address and I'll send you ONE - and One only. After that, you're on your own. A-Jay
