  1. I do keep some soft plastics is Plano boxes and that definitely works well. Guess it's simply a personal preference to have the majority in the labeled gallon ziplock freezer bags and then placed in the milk crates. Also, I think it's time to do a "how I store my rig" video - would love to post it and get some feedback. Maybe this weekend. A-Jay
  2. The other wicked Bummer about the whole deal is that the foolish oak trees never dropped their leaves until after we already had 1 foot of snow. So although it's out on sight now, there a nice big fat soggy mess waiting for me under all this white mess. And that my friends can really slice into the early season fishing time if I let it. . . 3. We're minus -15 this morning - no wind though so that's a plus. Even have some sunshine - Trying to stay positive here . . . At some point, there's going to be a serious flood once all this snow starts melting off - I'm expecting to have to use the Old Town for the first several trips as I can get creative with the 'launching'. I foresee me sliding the whole rig down a snow-covered ramp to fish the hopefully by then, open water. Good Times. A-Jay
  4. I know ~ sorry If it makes you feel any better I've already sold 1 set of jacket & bibbs to fund the newer version and now it looks like I may be at it again . . . I'm blaming HUK . . ? A-Jay

  9. The Sebile Flatt Shad SU77 ~ Is 1/2 oz and suspends about 12-24 inches under the surface. It really will not sink or dive much deeper than that. The 77 SU is designed for fishing over submerged weedbeds and through the tops of brush. This one's great to work through shallow brush or shallow grass cover. It will not sink or dive too deep, and is a real sweet model that's best for working shallow cover in situations where the other models could get hung up more often. Plus, you can pause and suspend it right in front of a fish's face where you suspect one's hiding in the cover. They are unfortunately a discontinued bait and can be a little tricky to find. E-Bay may be a good place to start a search. When you find one (or more) Buy it ! (I have a secret stash that I guard quite seriously) A-Jay
  10. Hello Cade and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Good Luck with your Sustain sale. A-Jay
  11. The 'why' is I've had far more knots fail with light fluorocarbon than with mono. That's all I need to know. I've learned from years of experience that when the situation dictates, being adaptable trumps being stubborn. This is one of those for me. And Yes, I do use 12 lb mono for leader material when presenting topwater baits. Worked quite successfully in this instance for example from this past August . . . A-Jay
  12. This is the last installment of the 4 different Total Body workout. I am able to go right through this one only needing to reconfigure the gym at the end for core work. Really enjoy the challenge this style of training offers. Looking forward to being able to kick it up a notch here soon. A-Jay
  13. Just for you @Fishin' Fool A-Jay
  14. I use both. In my mind, the 'abrasion resistance' difference between a quality brand of both is minute if at all. The greatest disparity between the two for me lies in knot strength. While fluorocarbon is decent, I believe Mono to be superior; especially in tests less than 8 lb. So the few times I do use a leader in the 4-6 lb class, (light drop shot, hair jigs, and the occasional super clear water spybait,) it's always mono for me. The rest is pretty much a wash. My choices are -- Mono - Big Game, Maxima Ultragreen, & Sunline Shooter Defier Armilo Fluorocarbon ~ Seaguar InvisX & Tatsu YMMV A-Jay
  15. Got Snow ? btw - our 6 ft fence is currently closer to a 2 1/2 ft fence. Not really the same. A-Jay
  16. I have & use two sets - one is 100 % Gortex Cabela Guidewear bibbs & jacket and the other is HUK, (last years version) bibbs & jacket. The Gortex is better at keeping me totally dry, but the HUK is pretty close and is more comfortable. Both are excellent 'windbreakers' for long cold wet runs across big open water. By layering under them, I can use either the entire open water season, from the very beginning to the very end. If you plan on being out in the weather, do yourself a favor and invest in a product that will meet or exceed your expectations. You'll be glad you did. A-Jay
  17. That's the way to do it ~ @Jigfishn10 However, I am Certain I've earned ZERO sympathies after a few of the Mexican Adventure posts of the past. Oh Well . . . . . A-Jay
  18. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resouce ~ I have never fished a high-density farm pond in China however, it has been my experience, that while there are a few lures that are very versatile, none work all the time on every lake & for every species. btw isn't there a bait money in China ? A-Jay
  19. Sounds like you've had a tough go of it lately. Hope you can get & stay on a path that will allow you to meet & even exceed your goals. Accordingly, I'll offer this . . . . I participate in resistance training to maintain strength, balance, some flexibility, and self-confidence - this has very little effect on my body fat. In the past, I had consumed more than I needed, ate (and drank) items that were counterproductive to my goals and then tried to 'burn it off' by doing tons of cardio: running, biking, etc. Never worked, meaning rarely was I able to achieve what I thought I was working towards. I've since fixed that. Regardless of how hard or how often I train, My Diet determines how much 'fat' I have; while doing ZERO Cadrio. How much I eat, what I eat & when I eat it, all contribute to how I look, feel & am able to perform. Admittedly, it requires some planning and forethought, but it's certainly not any 'harder' than any of my previous regiments; and there's definitely less impact. Which at this point, may be quite beneficial long term. If I stopped 'training' completely, never to see a gym for the rest of my life, no doubt I would lose some of the things I mentioned above. However, I'll never have excess body fat again. When I only eat the 'fats' and 'calories' I require and there's no excess - there is nothing left to get fat on. When I do something else, I get something else. @CrankFate Best of Luck to you and please feel free to update this thread with your progress. A-Jay
  20. Having no electronics would certainly require the anglers who utilize them a fair amount to change their game. There could be a question regarding safely too, especially if the plan is to place anglers on unknown water with no GPS / mapping. While all of this may determine which anglers can catch fish without electronics, it may not lead to an increase in entertainment value. Depending on where & when these events occur - and if fish are deep(er) there may be quite a few Less caught - sort of boring to watch. The deep clear water smallie derbies might be especially tricky; especially after post spawn. Additionally, this may force even more anglers to resort to the dock pitching dink fest. Not a fan. As for changes, I like the concept of Catch, Weigh, & Release. Finally, I would ban the practice of 'planting cover' in any lake there's a derby - seems really weak. A-jay
  21. Bet that felt pretty good. It's great to see you out & about and doing what you love again. Congrats A-Jay
