  1. That's the thing - I WANT to hook my next PB (fingers crossed) during the early spring when the waters cold or even cooler. Say 48 degrees and less. The Big Fatties are still pretty cold and much more apt to wallow around for a bit and then come like a little puppy dog right into the net. After the waters start to get over 55 or so - Well then, not so much . . . . #lightlinerodeo A-Jay
  2. I don't mind losing a bait here & there. But there are some freak monster tanks inhabiting these waters and I Do Not want to break one off. #feellikealoser A-Jay
  3. Hoping to capitalize on the Four-time Bassmaster Classic champion, Rick Clunn Luck E Strike Trickster Spinnerbait concept, but not having any of his "Long Blades" hanging around, (or even remotely available) I used what was on hand. Might turn out to be an ugly bastardization and a waste of a few perfectly good Mepps Spinners. Time will tell . . . Fun though. A-Jay
  4. Falling under the category of my own paranoia, I'm can't seem to get myself to go to 8 lb. I'm almost certain I'd get more bites, especially in the shallower depths. But I'm just such a chicken . . . . . A-Jay
  5. I use both 10 & 12 lb fluorocarbon for jerkbaits up this way. When throwing casting gear early & late season, when the cooler (30's to 50-ish) & cleaner water usually has the 'fight' from the brute smallies, somewhat subdued, I use 10lb exclusively. Also, use it as the leader for spinning gear with a 10 lb braid mainline. I believe I get more bites with the 10 lb during this period. Once the waters get mid-50's and above, I pump it up to 12 lb on both. I'm almost always working the bait harder and faster, and the strikes & subsequent battles are almost always harder & quite savage. So the slight increase in line size, while it doesn't seem to affect the bite ratio, comes in handy. InvisX or Tatsu for me. A-Jay
  6. That's - a really nice thing to say. Thank You. A-Jay
  7. Yup ~ Agreed. When it comes to fluorocarbon, for me, Tatsu scores high enough in knot strength, manageability/handling, durability/abrasion resistance, and sensitivity & stretch, that I feel I'm getting the most I can out of it; with very little in the way of compromise (except for the cash required.) My time on the water is important to me, and I do not care to waste the little I have - messing with my line or losing fish. The turning point for me was last fall south of the border - I fished 25lb Tatsu exclusively. 6 1/2 days straight - 65 hours. Gave it plenty of opportunities to choke. All kinds of Rocks, Trees & Big Super Hard pulling Freak Bass . . . Never had a single failure of any kind - not One. Haven't tried every fluorocarbon out there, so there may be one that does something better. If there is and you know what it is, please hook a brother up - especially at the current rate $$$. Until then - every time I feel I 'need the best' - I'm spooling up Tatsu. YMMV A-Jay
  8. Seems every ‘off-day’ (yesterday) always includes 3 hours of snow removal. I’ll be happy (and better rested) when that’s over. In any case, this one was good. I’m getting better at keeping the momentum going. Still, plenty of work to do though. A-Jay
  9. Thanks. Iread that to my wife and she wants to know what planet that's on ? A-Jay
  10. Thank you for the kind words & your support, I appreciate it. Mr. Bean's book(s) are full of info we can all benefit from. A-Jay
  11. Seriously ? That's some weak salad Bro . . . . A-Jay
  12. 3.5 inch SK Coffee Tube on a 3/8 oz tube jig head. But sounds like you're going to want to use something like the The Owner Weighted Tube Hook especially if you plan on fishing what sounds like heavy bottom cover. A-Jay
  13. Well, either way, thanks for checking in Todd. Hope you can be on the mend in time to wet a line once the flood waters have drawn back to fishable levels. A-Jay

  15. Weightless or lightly weighted Texas Rigged Senko You can't fish it "wrong". Cast it out, and chat a bit, move it a little, chat a bit, Repeat. Rarely snags, no trebles flying around once a fish is landed, as safe as you can get. Have an assortment of 'colors' and let them choose THEIR favorite. They ALL work. Good Luck, have Fun and take lots of Pics A-Jay
  16. Accordingly, we had 16 cases of "Cold Paw" this morning. Fenway went down like she was shot . . . Must not really feel too good. A-Jay
  17. Nice - I have a driveway full myself and I'm almost certain I can hear it calling my name. But at minus -13, I'm going to be deaf until it warms up a bit. The forecast is actually indicating mid 20's once the southerly wind comes on later this morning. Let's say I'm somewhat skeptical until I see it. Been a heck of winter so far. Whenever I start to fade a little I go out into the garage & sit in the Lund for a few minutes to recharge. If that doesn't do it, I'll check the engine hours on the new motor - 15. That always makes me smile. A-Jay
  18. Yea - I was part of that - hot mess. Personally, I'm set on line for a while. Still, haven't decided which direction to go once I do need it. Purchasing directly from Seaguar is an option but top dollar will be required. I'm expecting that since enough time may have pasted, that if 'the new' (and apparantly cheaper) stock is problematic, we'll most likely hear about it. I may base my decision on whether that does or does not happen. A-Jay
  19. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ My apologies as I have no current or useful info regard this video. But either way, this could be a new record by a first-time poster . . . A post pull back of 12 years, 6 months & 4 days . . . Congrats and Good Luck A-Jay
  20. I'm no expert either, but it looks good to me. Perhaps fish it and find out. A-Jay
