  1. Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating (GCVWR): The GCVWR is defined as the maximum weight of a loaded vehicle and its attached loaded trailer. And like the other weight ratings, the vehicle’s manufacturer calculates this number. Let’s say a truck’s GCVWR is 15,000 pounds and it has a base curb weight of 6,000 pounds. That means the vehicle can safely handle an extra 9,000 pounds of cargo and trailer weight. However, it doesn’t matter (to a certain point) where that cargo is placed. If a passenger weighing 150 pounds sits inside the truck, that 150 pounds have to be subtracted from the truck’s then-available GCVWR. Owners must still be mindful not to exceed the GVRW with in-vehicle cargo and trailer tongue weight. The GCVWR is how automakers list the maximum allowable weight a vehicle can tow. By subtracting a vehicle’s base curb weight from its GCVWR, the automaker determines the available tow rating. Automakers usually publish tow ratings that account for a driver and one passenger, each weighing 150 pounds, and a full tank of fuel. So, if you’re going to tow a trailer that weights exactly what your vehicle is rated to pull, you’d better leave the family and their luggage behind. Continuing with the example, if a truck has a 15,000-pound GCVWR and it weighs 6,000 pounds empty, plus it’s loaded with 4,000 pounds of cargo and passengers in the bed and cab, it can pull a trailer weighing no more than 5,000 pounds. 2. Inspect the Race ~ Examine the surface of the race as you did with the bearings. Look for nicks and discoloration. If you see something you are not sure about, try running your fingernail over the mark; if it catches, the race needs & should be replaced. Typically, if you have to get new bearings it is a good idea to replace the races, too. Also, like the bearings, the race will have an identification number stamped on one end. btw ~ Replacing a bearing and re-using the race is like taking a shower and putting your dirty clothes back on........... 4. Added a small assorment of the new Megabass silent Sonicside squarebill to the arsenal. Pic doesn't do them justice - very nice looking baits. Expecting big things from that Perch pattern. Also kicked it up a notch with a couple of 3/4 oz Jackhammers. Bait monkey gave me a thumbs-up. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  6. That's funny ~ I'm choosing to stay out of this one. Overreacting to the exaggerated importance of a benign event seems like drama. Not my style. A-Jay
  7. That should just about cover it. A-Jay
  8. I know the feeling - A-Jay
  9. Tell me about it ~ Good Luck on St Clair . . . Hope it's a Sweet 16 for you & your gang. A-Jay
  10. Yea - I've trained at home on & off for many years (in several different places - Military, moved a lot) Most times It was for rehabbing an injury. Once I was good to go - it was back to the gym. US Coast Guard always has very High-speed facilities available - especially the last 10 years or so. This one is suitable for what I need now - A-Jay
  11. I hate that - A-Jay's Home Gym has Very Flexible hours. A-Jay While this early March northern Michigan winter weather continues to be frightful, I’m doing my thing. This one came in right at 60 minutes including the warm-up. I’m getting there. A-Jay
  12. If you're set on doing all that with one stick, I'd go MH - the fast or moderate is up to you. If you've not fished a Moderate - make sure you know what you're getting beforehand. There's a love / hate deal with in the basshead community with them. I actually prefer the MH Moderate stick for most all cranking, light cover spinnerbaits & vibrating jigs. However, my preference for topwater is a fast stick - every time. So in my world, this is at least a two stick deal. If you're set on doing it with one, I'd go with the MH Fast. Some of this is line dependant too. Braid vs Nylon; no stretch vs quite a bit more stretch. Good Luck A-Jay
  13. Size #2 Owner Hyper Wire. Use whatever trebles you're confident in. I'll say I am a huge Megabass bait fan but not the trebles. They all come off right out of the box. That Out-Barb style hook is no fun in human flesh; not that the others are. The Braided line - yank the treble hook out trick . . . Ya not so much. Just say'in. A-Jay

Valid points right there. Point of interest; most reputable online vendors offer hassle-free returns at no cost to the customer. Initially, I'll order two sizes of this type of gear. Try them both on and see what I like. I've even been known to mix & match. Keep what works, Return what doesn't. Many places include return shipping labels with your order. Then it's simply a matter of taping up the box, filling out the return form & sending it back. Very convenient. A-Jay
  15. Strength, weight & quality of Materials used. Engineering & design; for spinning reels that often shows up in the gearing. Presence of quality seals designed to keep water out. The number of, type of & location of quality bearings. Often the case for any reel, the better ones have more of the above and are priced accordingly. The economy brands / models have less and the price reflects that. An educated experienced shopper can usually select a happy medium between the two and be very satisfied. Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort. The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory. A-Jay
  16. Nice way to start out your derby season. Congrats. Hope they get your rig right. A-Jay

Now that's something I can relate to. Keep your head on a swivel 'at the range'. Accuracy is important but so is being first and fastest. A-Jay

Hello Josh and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Past few seasons I've been wearing HUK rain gear quite a bit. It has performed well for me. AND it's currently 25% off . . https://www.hukgear.com/collections/rainwear Just say'in . . . A-Jay
  20. I have not heard of this mysterious feeding stimulant that causes fish to feed involuntarily. I can imagine it would be quite beneficial, and for only one dollar. Be interested to hear how they work because I often feel like all my baits have the exact opposite effect. A-Jay
  21. I thought that was Sanchez . . . . ? A-Jay
  22. I'm not totally certain but I think I can just barely make out an image on the right side there that looks a lot like Jimmy Hoffa ~ ! A-Jay
  23. Nicely Done - Super glad to hear your arm is on the mend. A-Jay
  24. After a couple of off days, I was ready to get back at it. I've included my pre-workout ‘warm-up’ at the start of this video. It is a vital aspect of all my resistance training, regardless of which style of workout I happen to be performing. The remainder of this clip is the last set of the lower & upper body, finishing with core work. All & all, it felt pretty good. Taxing, but good. #59isthenew39 A-Jay
