Working to Stay Lean ~
This one’s a decent example of how I prefer these Full Body deals to go; Brief, Intense & Effective. While the PowerTech is an excellent piece of equipment, and having a little home gym is super convenient, it does have its limitations. Continuing to be creative (and safe) pays off and can allow me to get the most out of it. If things go according to plan, I’ll put up the next three Total Body workouts as I complete them. I’m using four routines; each one is slightly different. A-Jay

A-Jay's Inaugural Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
It's been snowing here since yesterday and will most likely continue until dark. I might clean it up tomorrow - or I might not. We'll see how it goes . . . No Promises. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Thanks for the support my friend I appreciate it. Great to hear you're trending in a direction that you're proud of - and you should be. The Commitment & Dedication it takes to go from where you were to where you are, is fantastic. Now that that you've got plenty of momentum, there's no stopping you. Congrats and continued success to you. A-Jay I have not tried that, does seem like it would be good though. Core strength has been part of my deal for a while now. This was 5 years ago - I was preparing to celebrate my 11th birthday - for the 5th time. And after this mornings training, I can say, I haven't really lost much. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
OK ~ Thanks for sharing. Back during my busiest Search & Rescue days - I had to take 'summer's' off from training as I was either on the water or sleeping with little to no time to train. Loved the work, hated the no training. Tried to make up for it from Oct to May but it was tough. Wasn't eating much when not training either - looking back, that was a mistake. Worked out though. "Best" Jig rod for 1-1.5oz jigs
Interesting. While you are certainly entitled to you opinion, I do not share it. The quality of the Quantum equipment I have & use is quite good. But I'm basing my opinion purely on the result. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong . . . . . A-Jay

Ideas for foods/snacks for a day of fishing
My eating 'habits' have changed over the years - they had to. I eat small meals - 5-6 a day. By common standards, they are really small. When I'm doing it right, I'm still 'hungry' immediately after each one. (that's the magic) So I feel like I may be 'fasting', all be it briefly, between every one and several times a day. Does that count ? ? A-Jay

A-Jay's Inaugural Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
We've had worse but this last one was significant. Not over yet - seems more on the way later this week. No sense getting impatient. Made it this far - toughest days are coming though. That's when the suns out in April, it's 50 plus degrees and the lakes are still frozen solid with 4 feet of snow on every lake access road. Not a fan of that scene - but it's coming too. I know the pay off is good so I bide my time, get my gear, boat motor & trailer ready and keep knocking out workouts every other day. A-Jay

Ideas for foods/snacks for a day of fishing
I always eat on the water - always. My food prep for a trip is done Before tackle Prep - always. I'd rather forget my rods than my food. Skipping meals and neglecting sufficient hydration leads to sadness in the form of a nice fat headache - hate it. Can't expect the engine to run right without some gas in the tank, so I like to keep it topped off. Allows me to stay on the water longer and be at my best for several consecutive days. I use flat bread wraps a ton - and simply roll up whatever quality protein I'm having at home; usually chicken, turkey, beef or fish. Add some veggies & a light 'sauce' (balsamic vinegar & avocado oil) and I'm good to go. Try to stay away from cheese and standard cold cuts aren't too bad but do have a ton of salt I'd rather not become one with. Other all season staples include but are not limited to; Cliff bars, protein bars, Crockett Creek jerky (no msg), assorted fresh fruit, (but no bananas) and yogurt. Plenty of water and depending on air temps - Hot or Iced Coffee - been known to pound the occasional Red Bull Zero if my carcass is dragging and the bite is on. And I've found that after a full day n the water, having a quality 'meal' ready to eat in the truck on the way home can be very beneficial; Especially when the ride is home is 90 minutes of more. Often saves a ton of time and earns me extra sleep by not having to eat as soon as I get home. Just prep the rig, hit the rack and I'm up at the crack of dawn to do it all over again - is it spring yet ! So chow's a priority for me and I do whatever I need to, to ensure I'm set up. It's not easy or fast, but I'm worth it. A-Jay

pfd vs flag - kayak question
Please do both - It may also be advisable to expect every boater is trying to run you down and make it your responsibility to do everything you can do, to never offer them even a chance to do so. May mean changing how & where you're fishing now - but it might just save your life. Risk is a tricky deal I know that sounds grim but would you jump from the plane with a parachute that you know will not open 5 % of the time ? Me either. Unfortunately, experience has shown - that sometimes, it just doesn't matter what YOU DO - if the other human is not looking or distracted - bad things happen. Thankfully these lucky soles were not killed. A-Jay

Fast or mod fast for spinnerbaits?
Thank you my friend ~ I appreciate the support. However, all of my 'logic' simply reduces the viability of blaming my equipment when I loose a Big Tank ! And that only leaves the knucklehead with sad face holding the rod. A-Jay

Daylight Savings Time
If simply spinning the hand around on the face of a clock could some how cause this mess (snow & ice) to magically vanish . . . . . I'd have worn my right index finger to the bone a looooong time ago . . . A-Jay
