  1. You got bad info ~ Incorporate your cranking battery into your charging system & be done with it. A-Jay
  2. How about having a back up plan for if & when another pro or even a local angler is fishing an area he intended to go to ? To simply bail seems a little weak. Sponsors "So what happened ?" Angler " I was leading the derby, but a guy was fishing my spot, so I quit" Ex-Sponsors "What ?" A-Jay
  3. I can relate. Had a wide open jig bite south of the border that lasted three days . . . . By trips end my left side looked and felt like Rocky Balboa worked me over like a side of beef. Good Times A-Jay

High Quality & Design are always in demand. Been a user & abuser of Russ C's baits for a long time. That helps. A-Jay

That's my name - Box holds two different versions A FLIP 'N SWIM jig (top) and ALABAMA swim jig (bottom) ~ Both 1/2 oz A couple of my favorite sort of 'jack of all trades' jigs Killer designs with a solid hook. Can be fished effectively just about anywhere I'm likely to need a stout jig Works in Michigan - Works in Mexico Almost always have at least one Rigged & Ready A-Jay
  8. Unless my rigs get rained on or somehow otherwise wet, they are stored in rod socks ready for the next trip. If & when they need it, they'll get wiped off prior to storage. A Micro fiber rag & with a very light mist of Lucas interior cleaner works for me. Boat & motor gets a wipe down after each use. A-Jay

  14. Two factors that play a role in (most all types of) battery life: (beyond ensuring wet cells are wet) First, how 'deeply' they are discharged. Meaning it may not be what 'thrust' is used but how much of the charge is used each time out. If they are routinely being drained down 80-90 % they will usually not last as long as batteries rarely dipping into the 50% range. This is one reason more & bigger is better here. Clearly they are meant to be used but each has a finite number of discharges - ones used up - it's over. Second, how 'quickly they are recharged: both in time and perhaps more importantly at what rate. A slow trickle recharge of a drained down unit is less effective at maintaining longevity than a faster (more amps) recharge when it comes to extending deep cycle battery life. Gotta pay to play . . . A-Jay

The arsenal is extensive, organized & balanced for what I like to do. Hard baits are dominated by Lucky Craft & Strike King. Soft baits are mostly Strike King, Berkley & I guess Zoom. A-Jay
  19. I have a few spare reels and several extra spools. For both spinning & casting gear. Really makes the too many rigs I do have even more versatile. A-Jay

  21. That is a little strange ~ And those spots must be pretty tight when a few inches makes all the difference. Perhaps try 'flooding' your bilge to drop your rig a bit and then pump her out once you get through. Or just wait for low tide . . . A-Jay
  22. It's all good. I was simply passing on my perspective. A-Jay

I'm far from a vibrating jig 'expert' but here's my offering. Most success is realized with a low & slow retrieve in 10 ft or less, in & around vegetation. Skirt on with a trailer for me. Favorite trailers include; (but are not limited to) 4 - 5 inch Swim Senko rigged tail up Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic Blade Minnow Yamamoto 4" Zako Swimbait A-Jay
  24. I hear ya ~ I will approach them slowly and politely inform them what 'ramp etiquette' is. Often times I only need to direct their attention to the giant sign at the ramp which usually spells it all out rather well. Also pointing out the location and purpose of the designated "Staging Area" can be helpful. Of course, all this goes right out the window when I'm on the water waiting to pull the boat while Scuppy McScupperson is trying to figure out where he put the boat plug. Then I have to really work very hard to resist what seems like a very instinctual urge to yell "C'Mon Man !" I'll admit to have failing a few times. A-Jay
