New Video! Reacting to Your WILDEST Fishing Comments!!
@Glenn your fish does not need a chair, but I have many potatoes in my suitcase so I feel tree smiles and the posterior of my rug spiral is tornado jewel beetle. 🤓 A-Jay

Lake Baccarac Lodge In Mexico
When considering cost, commercial air fare to and from your location and either Los Moches or Culliacan Mexico must be added. The ride to and from the lodge / airport is included. A-Jay

Jacket and bibs recommendation for fishing
My insulated / cold weather gear is Simms - Very Good. My uninsulated / warm weather gear is HUK and Calelas Guide wear - both decent. The Guidewear is gortex. Not the most comfortable but definitely more waterproof than the non-gortex HUK. Although I wear the HUK the most as it is more comfy, good wind breaker and I will layer under it if it's nippy. A-Jay

Lake Baccarac Lodge In Mexico
Mexican bait monkey was hounding me bit this week. So I picked up a few magnum underspins & swimbait trailers just to get him off my back. While hammering 4-6 lbers around some trees with a Fluke/scrounger combo, the DD pictured joined the party. I have a good supply of this bait combo at the lodge. 275 Days and a Wake Up ~ A-Jay

A-Jay's Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Widespread snow continues across northern Michigan into this afternoon. Additional snowfall is expected today with highest amounts Right over Lake Menderchuck. Looking ahead Active weather is expected to continue this week with a growing potential for widespread accumulating snowfall Wednesday night into Thursday morning as low pressure moves across the region. Accumulating lake effect snow showers may follow for Thursday afternoon into early Friday. So I'll be busy. Last few years lake levels have been noticeably low for the first time since We've lived here. Negatively affected a couple of my really prime areas, especially early season. I don't think it's reasonable to expect it all back in one winter but it sure would be nice. Either way, this mess might mean we're headed in the right direction. 68 Days and a Wake up ~ A-Jay

The Great Experiment Has Begun
Agreed. Mr Wheeler is clearly the reel deal. Been a Rockstar well before this newest era of electronics. I expect him to TOTALLY DOMINTE now. The reasons are obvious at this point. The Derbies are teaching the next generation of bass anglers, that fishing without FFS is just a waste of time. Finally, and I hate to even reference this, but it sure looks like Candy Randy was right from the beginning. Now please excuse me while I go slap myself really hard in the face. 🤪 A-Jay Fair enough. But I'm still sad watching and especially listening to his babble. #mute I wish him the best of luck and applaud his strategy. I was hoping for a better viewer experience. A-Jay

The Great Experiment Has Begun
He is THE ONLY angler in this last period using FFS. And he is THE ONLY ANGLER they are covering. IMO, TOTALLY DEFEATS the purpose of the new format. I will say that it's wildly hysterical seeing the FFS guys demeanor and body language during their non FFS use periods. They seem totally defeated and are fishing like it's a waste of time. Imagine, fishing when you can't actually see the fish in front of you ? "Oh the humanity ! " Or, maybe it's just me A-Jay

17 out of the 19 anglers using the FFS in this first period. DC just pinned a mutant. A-Jay

Coping with chronic heart ache ~
Lynn's new mediport got it first use this morning. While the surrounding tissue is still healing, I'm Happy to report the port access and subsequent infusion when off without a hitch. Be nice if this unit lasted 12 years as well. After lunch we even played in the snow with the dogs for a while. It's the little things A-Jay

Fix for rough zipper on my Cabelas tackle bag?
Used both extensively both professionally and recreationally on wet suits, dry suits and survivals suits /Gear including life jackets that had zippers. Still use the same wax I had in the service. It's old but still functions. Sort of like me. A-Jay

The Great Experiment Has Begun
May be several factors to consider that could effect the out come. Not sure if the FFS use in every derby will play out like this first one has so far. These are some serious sticks with a lot on the line, so I am betting that as this deal moves forward, they will figure out on average how to make the best use of that unit. Since 2/3's of the time they are not using it, I could see it all evening out. But we'll obviously find out. 😃 A-Jay

My last training for Jan 2025 was Workout Day 4. Seems yesterday's extensive snow removal efforts were not a factor. Pretty happy about that. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
So Wednesday morning ( my off day) I woke up to what I'd call effectually sore. The entire posterior chain felt mostly 'simulated', but in a good way. However right after breakfast I was rewarded with several hours of snow blowing, so my soreness was mostly replaced by a distracting level of pure fatigue. I ate, hydrated and slept OK (despite the new moon) so in the end it was fine. We'll see how today's training goes. Might be a little sketchy . . . . A-Jay
