  1. Used to drop shot with a curado 100d but the core 50 quickly replaced it. The core just casts the light stuff a whole lot better! 8-)
  2. I have had nothing but good experience with it. I have some 20lb on my CI4 with 8lb tatsu leader. Also have some 40lb on my core 50 with 12lb tatsu leader. I replaced power pro that were previously on the reels and the casting distance has improved with both setups. Also really like how smooth the line is it doesn't sound loud at all as it's coming through the guides. I have used suffix, fireline, power pro, and the samurai and definately like the samurai the best. Was definately hard to go to the tackle shop and walk out spending close to $200 on just 4 spools fishing line between the daiwa samurai and the tatsu but after using them it's gonna be hard to go back to the power pro and invisix. Hope this helps. 8-)
  3. fishinflip how is that line i keep meaning to get some but havent yet.. what other line would you compare it to? It's tuff to compare it to other lines. It's really limp and very strong and abrasion resistant. Pricey but definately worth the money. Also it is really great for leaders! 8-)
  4. For all around use and value power pro is hard to beat, but if money is not an issue daiwa samurai braid is the way to go. 8-)
  5. Seagur tatsu is the best I've used so far. Also really like seagur invisix.
  6. I prefer invisix over abrazix all around. But you really can't go wrong with either. I agree that invisix is more manageable so if it were me I would just fish a heavier pound test invisix if around heavy cover. 8-)
  7. Got a spool of the 12lb and the 8lb. The line is great!!! I usually use invisix but stepped up on a couple reels. I have mostly been using the 12lb for cranking and the 8lb for dropshotting. I have also used the 12lb for leaders attached to 40lb samurai which also has worked great. I have no complaints thus far. 8-)
  8. Where have you been? Do a search and you will have enough info for days. If you don't know what a senko is then you are plain missing out!
  9. Most of the time tap tap is small fish. When it's a bigger fish you won't feel the tap tap it will just be a tick or you will just feel pressure. Small plastics t-rigged will usaully get the attention of the smaller fish before the bigger fish. 8-)
  10. Are we talking toads or frogs? Frogs are hollow body and toads are soft plastics that are worked like buzzbaits. My favorite frog is snag proof either ish's phat frog or bobbys berfect. I also use spro sometimes but mainly stick with snag proof. My favorite toads are zoom Horney toads. 8-)
  11. it's all part of fishing!!! 8-)
  12. Everyone has ther opinion. I own not just tried both and the dobyns are a better all around rod. No one said that powell were bad rods, just tip heavy. They are a good rod for the price, but for those who are little bit more picky about performance Dobyns is where it's at. 8-)
  13. I have 9 dobyns rods and 2 Powell rods. I have a Powell 734&735 and they are really not even close to as balanced as the dobyns rods. I purchased a savvy 766 and it is noticably more balanced than the powells. I am like David and prefer rods that are longer. You will definately appreciate a balanced rod when you use a 7'3"+ rod with the tip up all day. Plus it helps in the sensativity department. Not trying to rain on Powell they are a good rod for the money but when you want a little more step up to a dobyns 8-)
  14. I love the sound of braid!!! 8-)
  15. They priced it to close to there steez lineup. You can easily get a steez online for cheaper than that. Also how many different ways can you do a zillion? It's ridiculously old. I just don't get what the daiwa camp s thinkink. Shimano has definately put them selves a step above with there lineup this year.
  16. I like your style....!!!!!! 8-)
  17. I only use paycheck baits punch hook. It's the same hook as the old reaction innovation BMF flippin hooks but the punch hook comes with heat shrink tubing to make a bait holder. It is key for keeping your bait straight on the hook.
  18. Just get yourself some mend-it and you won't have to carry around so many tools. It works great and will save you alot of money and hastle. 8-)
  19. I understand your point but California is not messing with the genetics of the fish. If Texas ever gets the record to me it would be a little bit home grown if you get my drift. In most cases any Florida strain bass out of Florida is manipulation on our part. Bass are not native to alot of places including japan and California. Plus it's not like were hand feeding our fish there just being bass eating big protein meals. Texas is just another porter hall project to me. 8-)
  20. Unfortunately with all the water wars and environmentalist stopping alot of lakes from getting trout plants I think California is passed it hay day. I personally have no problem with the record being from japan. I think it's better than Texas having the record with a man made bass. I just have a problem with the share lunker program manipulating nature. Atleast in japan their natural fish. Just my opinion.
  21. I would have tried to strangle that little motha Fu#£$r he has got me spend so much moolah it's ridiculous. I thought he would be scarier looking. Haha! : ;D
  22. I have a feeling lots of frustration is coming your way. It is really frustrating learning to throw the baitcasters and especially with lower end reels. Just be prepared to do more picking out backlashes. :
  23. If your fishing in rocks than you definately do not want to use braid. Rocks and braid = @"&$$/-; heart broke. Use some florocarbon!
  24. The one thing about swimbaits is to not go cheap. Don't buy knockoffs. Buy a couple of tried and trusted swimbaits instead of a bunch of imitation cheapies. You will save your self a bunch of headaches and money also. 8-)
