  1. I am not a big crankbait guy! But I want to get better at it for sure! I was looking at the SK KVD square bill cranks. Just want some input on them, are they worth it? Up here in Wisconsin and the lakes that I fish there are not any wood, just weeds and some rock. So would I be better off with a round bill crank? Or will these square bills work better in grass and weeds better?
  2. Let us know what you order. So we can yell at you! just kidding!
  3. Nice, good luck and let us know how you do.
  4. Hay,Vinny try a Netbait Dirt Dog hooked backwards as a trailer. I did send Chris some last year! I started to use it as a trailer last summer and it was awsome.
  5. You hit it wright on! Like i said, you don't need a high end rod for frog fishing.
  6. As for line I would go with 6 to 8 lb. Seaguar Invizx. And the hook I would go with would be the new drop shot hook from VMC called the spin-shot hook in size 1,2 or 1/0. This hook can rotate 360 with no line twist.
  7. On my last post I was talking about bass in there summer patterns!
  8. The whole lineup of Sifix lines are top notch!
  9. I could have not said it better! I have done 3 articles for magazines and I have done seminars at Bass Pro ( Chicago store ) Gander stores,Sportsman Warehouse,on this subject and I guide at night up here in Wisconsin! i have been night fishing at night for over 40 years and I can tell you guys these things! One,color does matter in a very clear lake maybe not so much! But if a body of water has any color to it, color is a big factor. I have been on a lake way too many times when they would not pick up a greenpumpkin and pick up a junebug color, the next night ( same lake, same spot, same time ) they would not hit junebug but would hit on warewrmelon/red flake! I have caught most of my big bass at night, hands down the best time for big fish and numbers! Bass are in there comfort zone at night! When i guide at night on my lakes the big bass get most active from 11 pm to about 5 am or sunup, it can vary ! And one of the biggest keys is deep water!!!!! I am not saying that you can't catch a big bass in shallow because you can! But I catch big bass and more numbers of quality fishing deep. Alot of these schools will move to there feeding areas that may vary from 10 ft. to 25 ft. of water.Last year my best LM was 8lb 2oz. and SM was just under 6 3/4 and up here them are big fish. I also was invited to be on the cutting Edge radio show this spring to talk about this subject. I did my last article last June for Midwest Outdoors.I hope I did help some!
  10. " I would rather fish in the wright spot with the wrong bait ,than fish in the wrong spot with the wright bait"
  11. For me, a 1/2oz. to 1oz. Northstar football jig in Magic craw or a green/brown/blue color with a Netbait Dirt Dog hooked backwards, chunk, baby paca. A worm on a t-rig from 7in.to 15 in.! Brush hogs or big fin.worms.
  12. I agree,or Sufix braid 832!
  13. I throw a Northstar swim jig with a Netbait chunk or baby Paca craw,Dirtdog works great too. And also a grub.
  14. You don't need a $$$$ rod for froggin!
  15. Also on sale at Gander for $79.99 and $69.99! But not buy one get one free!
  16. All line has memory! Try KVD Line & Lure Cond. and that will take care of that! I would say it is your line that you are fishing. Try a good line like Sufix or Seaguar.
  17. When I fish a double DS I set it up two hooks on the line and I still fish with the weight on the bottom of the tag line! With the new VMC spin-shot hook it will make it a evan better rig!
  18. I have fished the double drop-shot and done very well. I can have two baits at how deep I want. I have had a good number of doubles and most of the time they are smallmouth. Has anyone tryed this double drop-shot too?
