  1. Do you have a step in the hull forward of the transom? I had the same problem with my Z7. I mounted it on the step, just to the right of the through hull fittings. I made one modification to the transducer mount so it could swing up and unfold if it struck something. I replaced the two metal star washers that lock the transducer in place to the bracket, with rubber washers. I got them at an Ace hardware store. They come in those little containers with the drawers that pull out. It allows the transducer to "unfold" from the bracket that trips up when a submerged object is struck. The step is not high enough to let the transducer swing up and out of the way since it will hit the hull. The rubber washers, if tightened enough will hold the unit firmly in place, but will allow the transducer to swivel in the bracket when necessary. The transducer must be mounted level front to back, and side to side, in order to provide an accurate image. There were instructions with the unit that showed where to place it in relation to the deadrise of the hull. The bracket is slotted for vertical adjustment. Position it as accurately as possible according to the instructions then mark for drilling at the center of the adjustment slots. This will allow for nearly half inch up or down, which should be plenty for fine tuning. Yes my Triton has that step under the transom. Were the live well and the drain plug are. I did check around and the best price that I could get for a install is $ 200.
  2. Now I will need all the help that I can get! Like mounting the transducer and were. I have a 04 Trition Tr 186 with no jack plate. Dan

  8. The Rat Chris's special NorthStar Wonder NorthStar Volcano
  9. That is dead on! If a bad front does come in the female will move ( shallow water )off but she will come back to the nest. She will not wait for all fronts to pass, fish can't tell how many fronts are going to come in. Up here in Wisconsin we get fronts all the time spring up untill fall and the bass spawn just fine in between the fronts! I agree that bass in deep water that spawn are less affected by a front!
  10. I think they are 3 X worm , you can pull them and they are like a rubber band, And they have a garlic sent. Best floating worm that I have seen!

  12. I was just wondering what are the color of a real Goby? I have never seen one!
  13. I did see a show a few weeks back and they were fishing the Gulp Goby on I think a Buckeye Spot Remover. Has any of you fished the Gulp Goby? I am not a big fan of Gulp but, I am trying to keep a open mind. :-?
  14. Has anyone placed a order from them? Never heard of them and I was going to order a Humminbird 898 from but I am a bit worried. They have a great price. So before I order I would like some input on them!
  15. She will kill me when she finds out that I am going to buy the Humminbird 898 SI. Or she will want to put me in the nut house! But I guide so that will help!
  16. That is what I kinda thought. They look like a nice little crank!
  17. I was talking to some guys at my Bass Pro about this Flicker Shad and they acted like this bait was the best thing since the shirt pocket ( Ala Bill Dance )! I am not a big crank kinda guy but, I want to expand and fish them this year because I am going to retire May 31 and I will be fishing ALL summer so, I will have the time now to get to know the crankbait better. Is this a good crank or are there better ones to pick from?
  18. I was wondering if you could take a shallow or mid range crankbait and file the bill of that crankbait into a square bill ? Just a idea not sure if it could work, or would it reck the action of that crank? Or am I nuts?
  19. Good post, I have done that, with pulling one of the pinchers off of the body and they go nuts! I tell people that at my seminars and they are shocked. But it works. In the summer I will take a ribbon tail worm and just use part of the body and the ribbon tail as a jig trailer.A brush hog as a trailer in deep water on a jig.The new Netbait Kickin B and the Mini Kickin B are going on my jigs this year too.
  20. I will be buying a new Humminbird 898 SI and I just would like to see what you guys think is the better lake map chip, and why?
  21. Try the Candy Bug color. I smoked them on this color last year.
  22. I like the whole line up of lines from Seaguar! I did try the Red Label on spinning gear last year and I did like it! The other lines cost more and I found that they work better. But nothing wrong with the Red Label.I have fished alot of lines that were alot worse than Red label!!!!!
  23. I will second this! You could put a hot dog on as a trailer and catch bass, that how good these jigs are! NorthStar has some great colors and the gill color is second to none, a killer in the sping and in the summer I go a heavy jig around deep weedlines.! I gave my other jigs away and I am sold on the NorthStar!
  24. No, no need too!
  25. Go on there web site and they will show you how to tie it. Good luck!
