Why Use a Spinning Reel??
I mostly throw my spinning gear, if I need pure winching power to haul somthing out of deep cover, which is not to often, then Im on my Curado. I had 3 Curados and sold of 2, (needed some money) but held onto my spinning. I'd hate to say it but I think some guys feel its an ego thing, and think they need to throw BC's to be a cool fishermen...but Matt 5.0 can tell you, you can haul heavy strippers and bashing blues on spinning gear. I did it for years.

SOL or Fuego
I agree Micro, the Tierra is very nice, I was looking to move a notch or 2 and have considered the TD Advantage, I know of some guys in here with the Sol's but have yet to hear anything on the Advantage. Do you have 1 and if so how is it? Thanks

who makes the best custom rods?
thats a tough call, while I've never seen many of the builders work that frequant here, I can give a full testimony to George Blancus of GBlanks Customs. His work is crisp, clean and very neat. As a matter of fact he's spinning another rod on the table for me now. This will be my second Rainshadow RX8+ rod. I like it simple, All Black!

SOL or Fuego
I have and really am impressed with my Tierra, Im having another rod built by GBlanks and was considering the SOL or the Fuego in the 2500 series, whats your take on these an why? Do they really add up to the Tierra and that much better? Thanks.

Well, I just got off the phone with Brent Delo and cudos to him and the boys over at Delo's Custom Tackle, he was apologitic about the lack of emails and return calls due to a tourny and assured me that the baits I orderd will be here today, and the second shipment tomorro. Im impressed and I will return, alls well by me with Brent Delo. Thanks Delo's.

G-Blanks custom rod?????
Dink, gblanks@cox.net like another BR member stated, give Larry a shout he can help you make the decission you need. cidgrad is 100% correct the RX8+ is black, and the RX8 is a Titanium Chrome I did the 8+ for my first, but just ordered another rod in the RX8, after talking to Larry for a couple days via emails I chose to pull the trigger in the RX8, the blanks vary little in weight and construction and for the type of fishing I do I seriously doubt a weekender like myself will notice the difference. I like my 8+ and although Im not a professional Im sure the 8 will do me just fine, but I'll put my GBlanks up against any rod in that price range. Like I mentioned and others before me, give Larry a shout. check out these links. http://www.batsonenterprises.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=128&Itemid=185 http://www.batsonenterprises.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=128&Itemid=185

G-Blanks custom rod?????
An older post but I think I can help, if you havent already pulled the trigger on a GBlanks, then get to it and pull, pull, pull. I had George build me a 6.6MXF spinning rod, all black on black, split grip foam. The blank is the RX8+ and it is absolutly insanly light and incredibly sensitive, I paired it with a TD Tierra 2500. The rod met and exceded my expextations, I own a Loomis Mossyback and it is one of my favorites, but it will and often does take a backseat to my RX8+ GBlanks. If I had thought for 1 second these rods were that good, I would've had George build my casting MH rod before I bought my Loomis. But as I write this I've been speeking with Larry Mitchell to have another one built for me. I will most likly go back to the RX8+ or possibly the RX8, but rest assured Im buying another. They are well worth the money, and there is a fellow BR member whom I fish with that will agree. Doit!!!!!

Daiwa Tierra baitcaster(how's it compare)
Com'n guys, some1 out there has to have tried this reel out..Please.

What is the Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy?
My Loomis MossyBack felt a world of difference in my hands over my BPS rods when it came to sensitivity, but my GBlanks (Rainshadow RX8+) custom spinning rod paired with a Tierra 2500 and 15lb PowerPro braid is insanely sensitive. But Im not saying its the best, but it's real nice.....

Fast vs. Extra Fast Action
I've owned the Loomis spinnerbait rod and it is amazing, Im so ticked at myself for selling it but I needed the $$ at the time. My Loomis BCR803 is MH with an XF tip, I use it for topwater, spinnerbaits and some lighter swimbaits and for what I do, it does them all well enough for me.

Daiwa Tierra and Advantage spinning?
I'd go along with this, after all it was Matt 5.0 and a couple others that recommended the Tierra, and it is an amazing reel for the money. I like my Pflueger Supreme, but the Tierra takes the cake.

Daiwa Tierra baitcaster(how's it compare)
Im SO impressed with my Tierra 2500 spinning reel, that I was wondering if anyone has any experiance with the Tierra baitcasters. I'm currently using a Curado 200DHSV, does it compare?

Braided lines for Light weight spinning.
About to spool up some 15 PP on my Tierra 2500, how much mono backing is needed, couple wraps to cover the spool?

My new GBlank RX8+ spinning set-up
I wanted to share my new GBlank RX8+ 66MEX custom spinning set-up with the GBlanks fans, I got the idea of doing an all black on black here from fellow member Dominion Dan, this thing is extremely light. The reel too came from a fellow members recomendation. Team Daiwa Tierra 2500.

How many rods do you really need?
I ended up climbing into this rod specific boat for a ride too, I think I bought more rods in the last 6 months then I have in over 30years, and today another arrived. A GBlanks custom spinning rod 6.6MXF Man I dont need all this stuff, looks like a yard sale soon. I always carry 3 and think thats to many sometimes.
