Looking to buy a spinning reel
It's a beefed up Exceller, I've never fished it but seems like a decently solid reel.
-
Deep diving crankbaits
DD22 but will also throw in the Bomber Fat Free Shad

rick clunn
I think that is probably part of it, kinda like the tribal elder.

rick clunn
Yeah, that one - no disrespect intended 8-) -T9 I have to agree, alot of what he says goes over my head but his knowledge of fishing is very abundant and with that episode he is speaking of a certain mindset and mental philosophy. I can't exactly remember what it was but at the time it made sense. It seems alot of his fishing advice is from a mental aspect, at least on The Bass Pros that is.

Spinning Vs. Baitcasting
If you are more comfortable with spinning then stick with it. There's no reason to switch for tournament, if you do, would probably spend too much time fooling with the new reel. There are some gus on here that fish spinning reels exclusively and are mean sticks.

finesse outfit??
http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59170_100003002_100000000_100003000_100-3-2 Pflueger President/BPS Extreme for $129. I started out with this combo in a 6'6''MH and do not regret it. I would get 7'M or MH for your listed applications.

Looking for a new Jig/Worm rod
I agree with the Powell Max but I would go for a 704c, it's a 7'H but fishes between MH-H, it's a great all around rod for single hooks.
-
Sustain or Stradic CI4
I would say CI4, I have had one for a few months and I think you'd have a hard time finding a comparable reel for $200. I felt the Sustain when I bought the Stradic and wasn't that impressed. I really like the foam knob.

cranking reels?
There is a Curado E5 in the Flea Market for $125...great reel at a great price.
-
deep cranx?
Those are my most used baits, escpecially the series 5 baits, don't get too worried about throwing them where they may get hung.
-
Bass Fishing on TV???
If you get those shows you probably have versus which also airs The Bass Pros, FLW events, Jimmy Houston, Rowland Martin, Hank Parker, and every so often Shaw Grigsby. There's also Worlds Greatest Fishing Show, The Bass Masters, The Scott Martin Challenge, and Beat Charlie Moore ESPN2

Ducket's new team
Those rods are just plain ugly IMO they would look better with foam insead of cork
-
New Spinning Rod?????
I have a 7'M Damiki Dark Angel that I use for shakey heads, dropshotting, and sometimes jerkbaits I also have a 7'MH Abu Garcia Vendetta that I use for weightless plastics Without a price or application, its hard to narrow down recommendations. I would recommend the Dark Angel over the Vendetta anyday but it also costs almost twice as much.

Which reel?
for $100 or less, I'd go with Bass Pro reels, either an Extreme, the Rick Clunn that is on sale, or the Pro Qualifier

Looking for a specific rod
For that application I use an e21 Carrot Gold Stix 6'10''MH. Even though it's specs seen more towards a spinnerbait rod, this thing is great for shallow runners and jerkbaits. The tip is "whippy" and soft but the transition to backbone is pretty quick. I have mine paired with a Daiwa Sol and with 10lb line I can throw an Owner Cultiva Rip'n Minnow 70 (1/5oz) a good distance. The problem with the rod is the guides suck and the tip is showing some grooving after a year with only mono/copoly lines.
-
gear ratio
I use a Sol for shallow-mid/jerkbaits and a Curado e5 for deep divers. I've use higher speed reels for cranks but didn't like them.

Ever do anything really stupid while fishing?
Took my dads jon boat out a few years ago, it was the first time I had been out without him and forgot to connect the fuel line to the outboard. Could not figure out why the motor wouldn't start, finally figured it out after trolling around and fishing a bit. I have also thrown quiet a few combos in, never lost one but came close a few times. One went in my first trip out with it and I think twice after that.
-
Line for Crankbait
I use 10-12lb Suffix Deep Crank or P-Line Flouro-clear for shallow-mid cranks and jerkbaits and P-line CXX 10-12lb for deep divers.
-
left handed rods
The only thing that I now of the is ''handed'' about a rod is the hook keeper
-
left handed rods
