  1. Depends on what you are throwing, braid should be fine for the hollow body paddle tail baits like the money minnow. I wouldn't throw braid for hard baits or soft baits like hudds though, would hate to cast off an expensive sinking bait with no hopes of retrieval. I use 20lb CXX for my swimbait setup.
  2. The head is the only thing I like about the baits. The rest of the components don't seem worthy of the price tag. Granted, I've not actually fished them but have handled them at a bait shop and it was enough to decide on something cheaper.
  3. :-? She turned herself in, it's not like she was a suspect in the case.
  4. I've got a pretty good collection of both and will continue to purchase both.
  5. Are they bringing it to the states or will it stay in Japan
  6. Sweet
  7. Red and Purple? Come on, there are plenty of rods with red in them in that price range. Seriously though, the Fuego is a great reel and tough to beat at $132
  8. President here too. I had one until my dad started using it, he has one too. Smoother than many other lower in the price range. And I love the handle.
  9. I really like my curado 200e5 for deep cranking.
  10. x2 I will disagree, I have found the original spook to be the easiest to fish of all I've tried including the Sammy, skitterwalk, x-walk, and many others
  11. Not much fishing related, unless you count my new truck, the wife and I bought a TV and truck for our combined gifts to each other. I haven't seen my family yet and they usually get me bps gift cards so I'll end up with some stuff.
  12. IMO, there isn't one, have yet to get a bite on a fluke type bait, I have given them many chances and have yet to produce a bite. I'll still continue to try them, I'd like to catch something on one, just hasn't happened yet.
  13. A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and Christmas With the Cranks.
  14. Ewww gross....only a freaking moron would fish with anything but a shimano....
  15. The BPS reels don't get much love here but they are far more than a cheap reel, with proper upkeep and care it should last you awhile.
  16. tackle He said he didn't care for the compre, tip heavy. If the BPS sells the Kistler Magnesium rods, The 7'H Kistler has almost the exact same feel as the 704c Powell, there is a difference in the two but it's subtle. I would venture to say the 705c is close to the 7'XH Magnesium. You have a 705c right? Does it feel tip heavy? Keep in mind I'll put either a Citica or a Tierra on it, which basically weigh the same. Thanks! I have a Curado 200e7 on mine and it's a pretty good feeling combo. I mean it's not the lightest rod ever made but paired with curado it can be fished all day, no problem.
  17. My dad used to take me fishing every so often, mostly catfishing with chicken liver but taught me how to fish for crappie with a small tube jig. He would rather fish for crappie, catfish, or walleye than bass but had gone a few times for bass, mostly spinnerbaits at night. Really picked up bass fishing along side BigTom, we taught ourselves for the most part, BassResource played a big part in that.

  19. They seem best suited for treble hooks. The actions seem a bit slow and a little whippy but for the price they seem great, really light.
  20. I've got a few, 4-1/2" roboworm straight tail in martens magic, zoom finesse worm in mardi gras, 4" Yamamoto kut tail in watermelon red, finese worm in watermelon swirl. Ihave also had success on swimming a gene larew long john on a drop shot.
  21. I don't understand why you would sell both to buy a new rod of the same type. Why can't you throw the rapalas on the 7'. I find that a 7'M does everthing you need it for. I only carry two spinning rods, a 7'M and a 7'MH, the only reason I have a MH is that I liked how it felt and a M wasn't in stock when I was looking.
