  1. Gotcha...didn't think so but I was wondering...
  2. They just came out with a LH versiion of the regular patriarch....sheesh.....Give 'em some time, I'm sure it'll take another year to get a LH XT and by then they'll have a new top of the line for us righties :
  3. Wow....that's kinda surprising, I bet he still fishes with a L&T ;D Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised is they came out with an Ike line of rods or reels, he's got a big follow. Maybe they'll put a litle Ike sticker on the new SX and give it some flames on the knobs.
  4. Hey Bobby, didn't Megastrike used to come in a stick form, kinda like a glue stick? I know Scent-A-Strike did but I remember seeing Roland Martin use it. Seemed like a neat, little less messy idea, why isn't the new formula available this way?
  5. My favorite thing about Rapala is their natural finishes like the Bluegill and Baby Bass baits. The DT cranks are all I really use and I don't use them much. I also like the shad-raps.
  6. Roadwarrior, I heard that a faster rod is better for cranks and treble hooks bait as it has more give at the tip and more bend deeper into the rod to keep from ripping too big a hole in the fish's mouth and better landing percentages. Where as I find/heard that a moderate rod for spinnerbaits as it doesn't bend the tip on me during retrieve thru weeds or the heavier lure as much among other reasons....not arguing, I don't really know just wondering if you (or anyone) can explain? You've actually got it backwards, moderate or slower actions for trebles, this means there's more give in the tip and the backbone starts lower on the rod. You want a faster tip for contact/single hook baits. You've got the uses right just labeled backwards.
  7. I'm afraid there are many of us that fall into that category.
  8. I got the P-17s last year and really like them, I've never had Costa's but if you already want the reel then the glasses are a bonus. Just don't expect them quickly, the turnaround last year was upwards of 3 months for some.
  9. Of course, I wouldn't go throwing 1oz jigs into heavy cover but for average t-rigs, weightless plastics, shakey heads, tubes, etc. it should be a great rod.
  10. I've got one but got it late in the season and haven't had much of a chance to try it out, have taken it out but just for small swimbaits and larger t-rigs and it is a great rod for that. It seems like it would be well suited for flipping and punching too, unless you prefer a longer rod which some do. The one thing to watch is the action while using braid, it's an XF action and if you fish braid with a tight drag, you can bust some gears or so I have heard. I got mine from a member here with that very problem.
  11. I've got two of the older ones and love them. It's not a reel that I would want to pay $200 for but I've not payed retail for a reel yet, I got them on eBay before they got widely recognized at a great discount, that makes them even better. I'm not big on the color or price of the XT but I'm sure it's a great reel.
  12. Just saw the tackle tour preview and got really excited. I have a Gen1 Mike Long Swimbait rod and love it. Would definitely like to get my hands on one.
  13. I would say Core for trebles and Fuego for contact. They both have a 28 IPT rating but I crank with smaller line than I use for contact baits and the Fuego holds more line than the Core.
  14. Haha....I don't think you're the only one, I thought she was as Lt. Uhura but Neytiri was a whole different level. Personally my favorite was the use of the colors, just brilliant. The movie is just plain beautiful and the use of 3D is how it should be used, nothing flying at you but used for spatial visualization. I found it as basically a live actionish version of Ferngully.
  15. I have never used CXX on spinning because of warnings here, I have opted for Flouro-Clear and Yo-Zuri Hybrid for spinning.
  16. I've never felt that the moss green has cost me bites, in green water it is great and hard to see. Unless you are fishing crystal clear blue water, I wouldn't worry about it. I have used both CXX and CX in moss green but recently purchased CXX in crystal clear because I found a good deal on 600yd spools but still have a great supply of the moss green. What type of P-line CX, CXX?
  17. Buddy had one and broke it within a few days. It works well but not the most durable, and it's extremely difficult to do spinning reels. As for me I don't use one and haven't had any problems spooling on a rod.
  18. Make sure you have your exploded schematics before you start, they are there for a reason. It's not as hard as it seems, just lay out everything like the diagram and in order of how they came out, that's how they'll go back, hopefully. You could also take them to BPS or send them in to get cleaned. Good luck.
  19. I would go with the Zillion, I've not fished the Calais or the Crazy Cranker but have an SHA and love it, I also use an E5 and love it but you sound set on the two. For me it's a visual thing, I think Shimano is hit or miss for aesthetics and I don't like the Calais. The price tag of the Calais is a bit much for me as well.
  20. Same here....there's nothing about it that says "I'm safe, make and use me". Just look at their teeth, enamel is some of the hardest stuff in your body, just imagine what it does to your lungs.
  21. They'll all catch bass but I'll guarantee a Double Cowgirl will catch the biggest.
  22. I have the 7'MH Avid and I will say it's a bit heavy but should match well with the citica.
  23. My skakey head setup is a CI4 and 7'M Damiki Dark Angel....I know you seem to have it narrowed down but talk about a beautiful setup.
  24. I have a few X-raps, never caught anything on them and really hate the colors. I have found the Owner Cultiva Rippin Minnow and Savory Shad to produce better than the X-raps.
