quantum code or burning reel
I have a code (6.4:1) and really like it. It was my first real LP reel purchase outside of spinning and a bass pro round reel. It has been in the lake numerous times but is still in pretty good shape. It is kinda wide due to the ACS II but preforms really well. Cast descent, not the furthest caster with light baits but a good overall reel

Casting rod for weightless worms?
Unless you are dead set on the pistol grip, any 6'-7- M rod would do quiet well

Flu Shot
Working at a hospital, they encourage us to take it, it's free, and I've never gotten sick from it so why not. It's crazy, the numbers of people coming through ER with Flu-like symptoms, they are requiring that patients wear a surgical mask if they are suspected.

Browning Maxus baitcasting reel, new at Bass Pro Shops
I have an old citori that I got off of a buddy. It's a pretty good reel, they are quiet bulky and heavy, and a little noisy.

? about the Daiwa Zillion rods....
Just got my 7'M Zillion literally 5 minutes ago. On first impressions I am very pleased. It balances extremely well with my Alphas 103 and is every thing I was wanting out of a custom rod, with the exception of a little purple in it but that was down on the list of specs. More importantly I was looking for a 7'M-XF rod that was decently light and balanced well with the Alpha and this rod has it all. The only thing left is to put it into action.

Quantum reel lubrication (hoping Reel Mech responds to this)
I have a new Energy and yes it came prelubed with Hot Sauce. Not sure of the long term effects of Hot Sauce, all though Hot Sauce is specifically formulated for Quantum's PT bearings. I have used Hot Sauce before and it's ok, the key is moderation and upkeep. It tends to thin out in heat and gunk up in cold, more so than other lubricants.

Flourocarbon?
I'm not a fluorocarbon fan at all but have been interested in giving it another chance. I gave up on it after using Berkley Vanish, have a friend that swears by it but I just don't see it. I usually use a co-polymer which suits me just fine. I have been thinking about giving Sunline or Seaguar a try.

Are Higher End Reels a Waste if...
I would say not....all reels come with braking features, that's not the only reason you bought the reels. Granted, buying a reel with dual braking my seem useless because that's just extra weight.

Tubes?
^^ Ricky sometimes knows what he is talking about. This is one of those times. BPS Tender Tubes are the only reason I still shop at BPS really. They are really soft and loaded inside and out with salt. gee...thanks...I think :-/

Great info Agreed, and just what I was looking for, have one on it's way tomorrow. I was hoping The_Natural would chime in, I know he has experience with the rods.

? about the Daiwa Zillion rods....
Specifically, I'm looking for information on the TDZL701MXB 7'M. If there is anyone that has or has fished this rod I'm interested in the power, action, and weight of the rod. I have heard these rods are underrated and was wondering how well it would preform with 3/16oz. I'm planning on getting a dedicated tube rod to match with a Daiwa Alphas 103 and wondering if it would be a good match for this smaller reel. Any help about the rod or the series in general is much appreciated.

Pfluger President
I've never had a problem with the original president, I bought one with a BPS extreme around 3 years ago and bought one for my dad for christmas last year. I can't stand the color of the xt, other than that I'm sure it's a good reel.

Mike Ike and his rods
As Flechero said, it may look like his store rods but it could be something much more custom made to look similar. We don't know for sure. KVD has a spinning rod to match his new cranking rods but to my knowledge it's not available to the public When a pro is fully being utilized (KVD is) they are constantly giving feedback & suggestions for new product & changes to current product. The manufacturer will take their suggestions & make prototypes for them to test. These prototypes aren't "souped up" versions of regular productions, they are just different sizes, powers, handles, etc. This means they aren't coming off a production line, but in the case of rods, they would be made with the same graphite & other components. The only time I've ever known for sure a pro was using a rod that was radically different than production rods (of the same name) was Boyd & the other very early E21 pros. That wasn't even intentional. They made all their early prototypes by hand with a certain process that they were unable to reproduce for mass production. I would just like to know if they are bringing a spinning rod out, it looks like a nice rod.
