Spinnerbaits on a MH Avid?
That's what I use my 7'MH Avis for. I find that it handles most spinnerbaits very well, kinda hard to cast finesse spinners on but other than that I find it suited quiet well for the job. Personally, I like a bit stiffer rod for blades, I just don't like my rod to load up too much with larger baits.

Is fishing relaxing (semantics debate)?
I find it to be both relaxing and extremely frustrating in the same. Although, I don't find anything relaxing about cranking all day.

Revo???
I just recently got a Revo S and have fished with an SX and I would stick with the S. The extra $$$ isn't worth the hassle of the mag brake on the SX. IMO it's too finicky, maybe I didn't give it a far chance but I'm partial to 6-pin braking to begin with so maybe that has something to do with it.

High dollar reels catch more fish?
Over the lifespan of your reels, I believe the expensive one should last longer and therefor catch More fish

Flippin' setup
My flipping combo is around $250, actually I have two suited for the job, the other went about $210. The first is a 7'6''H Castaway Big Show Flipping Stick ($99 on ***) with a Curado 200e7 ($150 ebay) and 50lb Suffix Braid. The second is a 7'MagH Powell 705c ($90 I think bought here on the flea market) with a Quantum Energy "Burner" ($110 on ebay because the box was wet, reel is flawless) and 17lb P-Line CXX.

Re: LOOKING FOR NEW BAITCASTER
The best advice I can give you is to physically hold the reels you are thinking about or try to fish them if possible to get a feel for the reels. In you're price range I have found most of my reels on eBay. I have bought, all for less than 150, 3 pflueger patriarchs, pflueger supreme, 08 and 09 quantum energies, a revo s, a daiwa sol, and a curado e7 and e5. I personally fell that any of these reels will hold up and get the job done. It seems that these days 150 will get a reel is well built and will last but still affordable compared to higher end reels.

Spinnerbait rod
I just got a 7'MH Avid to use for spinnerbaits. Before then, I was using a 7'MH BPS Bionic Blade which performed the task wonderfully and is affordable at the $50 they are right now. They are a tad bit heavy but that never really bothered me, it felt about the same as the avid does.

Someone help me find some more of these cranks?
What are the specs on that bait. Ever tried a super stalker? http://www.driftertackle.com/products/super-stalker.php

Couple more cranks.....
Really like thoughs baits. I'm a sucker for bluegill and sunfish patterns and those are some nice looking baits.

Jackall Flick Shake Worm
I've never used the Jackall flick shake hooks but *** has some weedless wacky jig heads that work great and are cheaper than the jackall jigs

Tournaments on Yatesville Lake, KY?
I think there are a few tournaments left on Yatesville, open tourney's I'm not so sure about. Big Tom on here fishes the Renegade series there and they have one left. You may PM him, he may be able to help you. I don't know if he'll see this

Pflueger Purist
I've got an Asaro 64 WLP that I am thinking about putting up on the Flea Market for around your price. It's a pretty descent reel but not good for what I need it for. It's only been fished twice and comes with box and papers

carrot stix suck
The same thing I was thinking...you can't just say they're junk and leave it at that, you gotta give those of us that like them a reason. I'm assuming that the G-Loomis statement is referring to either IMX or GLX because from what I've heard, under the IMX isn't impressive. If it is directed toward IMX and GLX rods, then what do you expect for $100-300 less. I'll admit I'm not sold on the sensitivity of my 6'9'' MH LTX but I really haven't had a chance to get it out and actually fish it around something other than snot grass, have had some bluegill hits which were felt very well but haven't really given it a try.

Baitcaster Handles
I believe you are stuck with that handle, had the same ?/problem when I had one with a broken grip on a Patriarch...had to purchase another from Pflueger
