  1. They fired a 50 cal into an iron plate and it ricocheted back and hit him in the ear muff.
  2. I love my coffee too. Not a pro, like Robert and his Tequila's, but I DO like a mean Jo. I tried "community" when I was in Ct this summer, nice stuff but they don't have it in RI. I like Folger's, call me crazy.

Mine sounds like a phone ringing. I know,....CRAZY!
  4. 9.2 RI Same as BDawg, no skill. Was putting a topwater on a set up when the rod slid across the deck, lol. Christmas cider power worm when they first came out was sitting on the bottom for a few minutes while I addressed the other rod. I'd rather be lucky than good sometimes
  5. All I know that all my "one that got away" stories have the same ending...................... ...............and then her fat friend came up and said "I'm leaving NOW, are you coming with me or not..." ;D ;D
  6. Welcome Aboard Gary!! Where are you from "back east"?
  7. Some know him as Davig G, some as "ReelMech", but whatever name you know him by, odds are, he has helped you understand the tools in your hand a little better. This month, the staff nominated David for the "Br Elite member of the month" for Feb but David respectfully declined , not wanting folks to get the wrong idea, seeing as how he is also an advertiser on the site. David's expertise, years of training, wealth of knowledge and willingness to share, makes him truly a very highly valued resource and member here. For that, the staff just wants to say "Thanks" So with that, I still wanted to give y'all a chance to say "thanks" too and share your story of how Reelmech has helped you.
  8. from KU's reply,... What makes a man? The decisions he makes. (PS- what other board gets you 3 answers before 6:30 am???? NONE!! )
  9. I think CJ really summed it all up. Water is the best insulator against atmospheric conditions, and bass behave as though they know that because they're deepest in winter. The metabolism of bass is slower in winter than any other season, and bass behave as though they know that too. During the wintertime, bass show a marked preference for structures with rapid depth change, where they expend fewer calories. Sand bottoms are continually re-shaped by wave action, but a rock slope takes thousands of years to erode away. It all dovetails together: Cold Water - Slow Metabolism - Deep Water - Steep Slope - Rock Bottom Most weeds die to the ground in winter, so if you throw in woody cover you've got the Classic Winter Site Roger With bank fishing in mind, would the steepest bank be a good shot? The best places on our lake are the flats. The have "decent drop off's some on as many as 3 sides but when reading Rolo's and CJ's replies, I am thinking of where the most aggressive gradient is in our lake and it's along a certain bank. Lots of trash can size rocks that drop from the chunk rock shoreline to 18' within 15-20 ft from the bank. Not a lot of structure out there to cast at but that's the quickest gradient and 18' is the avg "deep" water for our lake. (Max is 25, avg is 11)
  10. My Portuguese Nana,...born in the old country--"Marry a fat Portagee, she'll never leave you and you finally get some meat on your bones...." Shoulda listened,lol...
  11. That's a part of life that you will learn how to attack with time. Play the odds, if you cast a thousand times, you're bound to hook into a fish eventually. The trick is to not just take it personally and go home but to stay and keep casting.
  12. Let's put that to bed Rrrrright now,lol
  13. Nope,....Otters got the rest of them back in the early 90's RIBAA is in the house!! Welcome Aboard neighbor! Any questions with the forum, give me a yell.

I watch it all the time and would love to participate. We have easy access to a great shark population here, it's just that the Tuna pay better. Thresher and Mako are similar money but there is no market for Blue shark,....the most abundant and a destroyer of expensive tuna leaders > The MFSS is cool because they catch mostly sunning/feeding sharks up in the shallows which makes for some great helicopter camera shots. Looks fun. Did you see this week when one team hooked up with 5 seconds left and knocked out another team for the final day cut? They had to push the pin haul him in, and then screw back to make weigh in. Fun way to fish!!!
  17. My boat registration reads F/V Rustyhooks (fishing vessel, commercial fishing boat) This is my AIM screenname, fvrustyhooks
