  1. my pet peeve would be whiners
  2. I should have been more specific. 80% of the situations, the driver shouldn't get a tip, BUT ,...there are certain relationships that do warrant one. There are businesses that we pick up from every day. The one that ALWAYS asks if you can come back (and you ALWAYS do) should tip you. Even if you have gotten good service all year, tip the guy. again, these are people who see each other EVERY day. There are lots of different scenarios, but if you get something from UPS/Fedex, 2,3,5 times a year, don't even consider giving a tip. Then,....there are the QVC wives,......... :.....
  3. Just wondering how you guys feel about holiday tipping. Less and less people tip their UPS driver each yr. Don't get me wrong, not everyone should. There are customers that we deal with every day and others we just deliver to once in awhile. many drivers go out of their way to accommodate the customers throughout the yr, these folks are different. Some drivers used to pick their routes according to Xmas tip potential. Some drivers would take home 3-5k in tips from some of the metro routes. Nowadays, a basket, plate of cookies or Dunkin' Donuts gift card are much more the norm. For those of you who take the time to pass on a $10 card or a something you made for your driver, know that it goes a long way. I don't drive much nowadays, working in other areas of the Biz so I don't see the tips but I certainly remember from even 5 yrs ago, the customers who took the time. It means a lot to the driver's, really makes their day to know someone gave a crap!
  4. Dude, you just admitted that you bowl,...on a public forum!! ;D J/K, Eric bowls, I bust him up about it every chance I get, lol.
  5. And a you're a great guy to pass that on. My condolences to your family.
  6. Although true in this case, many folks have risen above their demographic challenges.

  8. Whatever state you are in at the moment!! I prefer the state of relaxed concentration to be the best for bass fishing.
  9. True, they SHOULD learn how to drive in the ice and snow, maybe they can start learning as soon as they get that tree off their car. : JT- 28 degrees and fog,....sounds like it's already there. Fare well all.
  10. The pros participate in more ways than just what we see on camera. Ask Tin2win about the casting competition Ike got started in the hotel lobby late one night, lol. He just hung out with the kids all night, raising hell. It's the whole experience they were robbed of. Kudos to those that represent!
  11. This is a lot bigger than a day out of school. We are no strangers to ice storms here in the northeast. They are brutal on a community in a number of ways. Hope all our Okie members are safe , boats too!! Watch for falling branches!!!
  12. So that covers the 3 wise men......Who else is coming?

  17. Christmas Eve, I stay at my sisters house down the Cape (Cape Cod). We cook a 7 course dinner for the family. My brother and his girls all come down and spend the night, we have a blast, like a camp out We sure do miss the parents though, they are down in Fla. for the holiday but at least we started a new tradition when they got older. My sister and I can throw down a meal and a half! For the morning, I make a cake (2 packages of blueberry muffin mix)(whipped cream cheese/sugar frosting) and we plant a single candle in it and sing "Happy Birthday"
  18. Why do ornery, old people migrate to Florida? Some things just are the way they are. We were one of the originals man, tons of great history here. Don't hate. At least our Lobster's have claws!!! :
  19. well, "Quahog" is the real name for the beautiful New England clams we have in our bay. Many things around here have Narragansett and Wanpanaug Indian names. Many Rhode Islanders make their living on the Bay. Much of the commercial industry here is shellfish, with Lobster and Quahog's being the primary ones. A clam from our bay has such a distinctive taste. The closest would be the Mahogany Clam from Maine but even those aren't anywhere near as tasty. If you like clams, the "Quahog" is the caviar of the sea. Quahog fact sheet There are LOTS of little references in that show that go right over your head if you don't live here. Names of politicians, building names, etc all are funny to hear but have a double meaning if you are from here. The writers really throw in some good ones once in a while. Don't know all the Griffin's but I partied with a guy who may very well have been Peter. This guy's dog talked too.
  20. No doubt!! Congrats n the new PB Avid!!!
  21. Of the ones I've tried, the ML spinning paired with a small Stella, felt like a fine surgical tool. A ton of fun compressed into a few ounces.
  22. Speaking of things you say out loud with your buddy, anyone else have a constant banter with your fishing partners? we are constantly making up new words to popular songs, with rhymes of how you're whooping him, etc. 1-2-3-4 I set the hook and caught one more....5-6-7-8 Eric keeps on swingin late.... I can get him boiing so good, he defeats himself
