Pfluger Reels
I have over a dozen Presidents some as old as 3 yrs. I had 1 anti-reverse switch break in the 3 yrs. If you knew my track record , with how hard I beat up my gear, you would be as impressed with this reel as I am. Great reel for the price point.

Stick Jackets
Anyone ever use these? I'm curious how spinning gear fits with these. I have a few salt rods I want to protect and I am wondering if they will fit over that first eye (it's a biggee) If anyone else is interested , they are available at JBC Outfitters, an advertiser here

Wacky Rig question
I also was a big Yum dinger fan for a while. A better value and they sure do catch fish. In the last yr or so though, we were lucky to find ***. also an advertiser here. He sells baits that are a hair softer than the dinger (and has the hook channel too) but not as soft or as tear-able (due to salt crystal size) as the Yammie. Now for the good part. 50 for $10!!! And to make it one better, mention your BR screenname and a portion of the sale goes directly to the site to help with costs. Also, when you mention you are from BR, he will throw in some extras for you to try.

Black Dog Bait Company
You didn't. You did. : I am assuming at 60 bucks a pop, they come with a guy to cast them for you? ;D Save the big one for when I get there please, lol. (kidding,...but not, lol) Lots of baits have great shapes, some have incredible finishes, some have both. I'm dying to see why these cost so much or if folks are falling victim to the hype. Time will tell.

Wacky Rig question
Yes, that's exactly correct, that's how I fish them. Not to beat a dead horse but you only need an "O"-ring if you are using Yamamoto's. Other brands do not tear as easily and can last for up to as many as 8-10 fish or so.

Wacky Rig question
Gammy finesse wide gap Don't be afraid to throw it in wide open water, especially if you are familiar with your lakes structure and topography. DO NOT WORK IT. If you do anything to this bait as it falls, you are over-working it, let the natural wiggle of the ends do it's thing. Once it has settled, very subtle twitches can often attract a bite. I don't usually work it for more than 5-10 ft or so (closer to 5) before getting it right in and sending it out again.

Spoiling for a fight
As far as "seeing blood", I have way too much brain power for that. You can always resort to your intelligence before your ego or your "tough-guy-ness". You will have to have had done something to my family (includes close friends) or someone who cannot defend themselves for me to get physical but if it ever comes to that, I hope my adversary realizes that I realize how small I am and surely won't fight fair. "Fair" however, is subjective. If I have been brought to "that" line, fair went out the window a long time ago. As for respectful debating, just read anything between RW and myself regarding senkos or trick sticks. We've strongly disagreed on the subject since we met but our respect for each other has only grown., That says a lot.

Big Sluggo's.
Yea, when they came out with the fin-s, we were 1/2 way there,lol...zoom took it the rest of the way (or was it bassassin?) but I never knew the fin-s came in a 10",...good to know.

Big Sluggo's.
The 9" ones work great for stripers but never tried one on a monster greenie. A bass is a bass though right? We used to use them around the eel grass islands in the Warren river and along the Barrington shore which also holds a lot of eel grass. 40+ inch fish swooshing on one of those sure is a rush but many of the small schoolies (12-16") found them tough to swallow but beat the heck out of them anyway. The smaller guys tail slap them , lots of fun but can be frustrating. We found that the salty super fluke, even though it's a lot smaller, still triggers strikes from the bigger girls but also allows you to get a hook in the schoolies. But if you only want big ones........... I think I'd give it a go. The 3 pack comes with it's own hook (slug-go) a 9/0 I believe. Good luck Jim!

Stick Marsh/Farm 13 Florida
It's safe to say the kid sure hit the genetic lottery getting you as a granpappy!! I taught myself how to fish after dad (novice) introduced me to it. Having someone like you as a mentor from that age on is a pretty valuable asset! Thanks for the report

deep structure
Yup, heavy jig will tell you how deep and dragging it slowly tells you if it's grass, wood or rock down there.
