  1. color, color, color,.....bah humbug 1st thing I would do is try the different retrieves,...fast, fast erratic, slow, slow erratic, dead stick. If that didn't work,...regardless of the color,...... I would... Change the lure completely. I like to always have a follow up rod ready, something that can be worked a variety of ways and speeds, like a super fluke.
  2. But you forgot to add.........color doesn't matter ;D :-X After thirty-something videos, I didn't think I still had to! ;D
  3. well break all the rules why don't you?!?! Slammers,....topwater fishing at ice out in New England. Is he a lunatic or a genius? Just goes to show that people can say something can or never will work (like a 12" topwater in 40 degree water) but they've never actually tried it. Slammer,...ice out to ice in!!!!! If I could work it in a 10" hole, I'd bring it ice fishing, lmao
  4. Huh? Are you asking why fish chase lures? -They think they are food.
  5. This is a tournament scenario,. You and Fish Chris are DQ'D!!!! ;D
  6. "Grass" Pickerel to be exact I was out with Paul, same day. My first fish of '09was also a Pickerel but #2 was this little guy with the funky color pattern
  7. Stay safe buddy, thanks
  8. Those are very large Barred Grass Pickerel (the black line coming down from the eye is the dead giveaway in identifying these) as opposed to tiny Pike, lol. The bass,...I agree,...is ugly, lol. But being the 1st one of the yr makes it a-o-k in my book Back out again tomorrow with Matt 5.0 and for all those wondering,....yes, we are already throwing the wakebaits, lol.
  9. Cytogainer, Squats and Fried chicken.
  10. I kinda feel like FC where I already feel spoiled so any mention of anything would just be bratty BUT,.....IF I could change 1 thing in my lake, I would want shad.
  11. Paul and I got out for a few this afternoon, got our first fish of '09, nice to see the rods bending. This first fish decided to remind Paul how much he loves the northern green snakes. A little slime and a touch of poo, yum. Then I got one,......wasn't expecting that, lol and then my 1st bass of the season, here we go....
  12. Great report and congrats on placing You guys may want to consider approaching sponsors you really use like,....Advanced Auto Parts, Academy, Goodyear, AAA, Ihop, red cross probably wouldn't be a bad one.... ;D
  13. Breaking things, losing things. These are a couple things I really excel at.
  14. I think he's been traveling. I'm pretty sure he's in Michigan this week. Of all the luck, he's having dinner with Larry Dahlberg.
  15. All of them. You care about the color more than the fish do so pick something eye pleasing 8-)
  16. future Nitrogen
  17. I cut them rough with the jewelers saw and use the belt sander to finish them. NOT ANYMORE
  18. It's all ancient stuff too, a few of those are worth some good coin to the collecters.
  19. I really enjoy teaching. Bringing people to their next level.
  20. X2 Agreed. You'd be amazed what they can dig up. They are classically designed as an upward feeding predator though, eyes on top, jaw angled up. Maybe the fact that they are still so effective feeding down, to the side or forward also, is part of why they are so adaptive and numerous. There aren't too many places you can put a LM where it won't survive and you need a lot of tools in the bag to own that claim.
  21. I agree with RW. I think it would be cool to offer an "accelerated" guided day along side with the normal guided day. You want that repeat biz.
  22. I'm 5'7", 142lbs and I use a 7"11" Crucial for 90% of my fishing. "Speak softly and carry a big stick" -Theodore Roosevelt
  23. What would we do without you? Seriously. Awesome man, that's a lot of service. So tell us,....20,000 posts, how many bullets?
