  1. be careful, that spool could be spring loaded.
  2. Mako marine international-no association with Tracker. Serious, high quality boats. I owned a 2502cc for 3 yrs, best hull I ever had. Triton also offers boats that would be suitable for both salt&fresh. you have tons of options in that price range. Narrow it down and you'll get some better answers.
  3. I sanded mine (orbital sander-35 grit). Sand blasing is the ultimate option. Once you get down to the boats original color (which is more like a primer green) You can stop. The next step (solvent wash) will remove the rest from the primer down. Revert to this post for sanding/painting steps/stages and feel free to pm me or re-post http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=boating_ID;action=display;num=1119359773

  5. I've used cabelas and sea nymph dry bags and both are irreplacable. I'd be out of alot of money w/o them!
  6. interlux paints are designed exclusively for fiberglass/marine application. Great stuff but we are way ahead of ourselves. Let's get the basics first and take it from there. This is the paint job I did on my jon. http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=boating_ID;action=display;num=1119359773 Not what you are looking for but if you read the steps involved, you can tell if you even want to get involved in such a project. Keep in mind, you will be skipping the "metal-etching" steps because your boat is not aluminum.
  7. I replaced my magazine subscriptions with this web site!
  8. BPS has them. I have the master cataloque if you want me to look up an item number. I need boat specifics. (type-jon,v-hull,etc) motor, y or n.
  9. That's great advice right thar,...I done care who ya arrrre!
  10. Well, you're going to need to give a bit more info!! Let's start with the size and type. (bass,v-hull,etc) even better if you have a pic.
  11. Greetings, pull up a chair and let us know what you're thinking.
  12. a.) Beef up your line, even if it's just to 10 or 12lbs b.)Check guides by wiping them with a cotton ball, any nicks will grab the cotton C.) ALWAYS wet your knot (spit works well) before cinching it down and make sure it didn't loop and get caught on the nitch at the hook eye.
  13. Are you trying to lift 4lbrs in the boat w/ 8 lb test?? I wouldn't expect to keep too many fish if this is the case. You'll snap off 5 times out of ten and that's only if you have incredible luck!
  14. my buddy is catchin on the same stuff, but better fish >
  15. yea but believe me,...as I get closer to the lake my "bad" stress level slips away and my "Good:)" stress level rises as I anticipate the hunt! So relaxing really isn't it,it's just off. Sometimes it is what it is but I'll be back later this afternoon to reclaim my position !
  16. Fluke, I'll be taking that whole week off so if you're available and are able to come a few days early, We can go assault my local haunt together. You could stay at my place, no problem, comfortable couch and 5 miles from airport. That's if you're still willing after me n HAwghunter smack you guys down next april!!
  17. Welcome to the site. By the body and content of your questions, I can see you mastering one bait at a time via the internet. When you are very confident and versatile c-rigging, we'll be ready to set you up with the next technique. Great questions to learn what you need to know but if you use the search option above and explore the "articles" or the "old and new testament" as I like to call them, you'll see a plethura of knowledge at your fingertips. Print some to take with you to th lake when learning a new technique so you can refer to it as the condition you are approaching dictates. Good luck and catch 'em up!!
  18. So would you assess that it was just too aggressive of a profile when weighted? moving too fast, etc?
  19. Well if it is true, then I really suk lately! Last night, 7 fish, no size. My partner went for an earlier shift (3:30p-8:30p) and smoked 'em with a 5 in the mix. I think I'm just off my game a bit. Confidence is there but after being red hot for the last few weeks, I may just be getting greedy :-/
  20. Oh yea, and don't be afraid if your eyes start to cross like in the pic above. This is from high concentration followed by 2 minutes of fire alarm level exitement. It goes away by mid morning, lol.
  21. We night fish alot. As a matter of fact, I just woke up from a night trip. 9p-4a. Noise and size are certainly big positives but certainly aren't a MUST. As senko77 said, you can fish a senko at night no problem. Worms, no problem. Ikas, kreatures, etc, no problem. When the conditions are right, there really isn't too much that wouldn't work at night that does during the day. Bass are low light feeders. Just like a cat, they can see just fine at night. Just because you can't "see" your bait, doesnt mean he can't. For spinnerbaits, at night, I use a big 1 oz bait with the biggest, roundest, thumper blade (colorado blade) you can find. Add a trailer hook always! Remember, just like fishing during normal hours, the best tool in your box is your brain and it's ability to manifest confidence. THink positive! Look back at some night posts and see the proof in the pics we've provided. Remember these as you are feeling every little stone and stick on the bottom with your jig. Have confidence and conquer "the dark side". Good luck and catch 'em up!
  22. it was moved to "my tournament, outing"
  23. As far as liking what you have, it's not always the case. I've owned Mercs, Yamaha's,evinrude, johnsons and Honda motors. Never had a suzuki but my buddy does. Force,... never. Anyway, the merc was my favorite. 225 offshore, zero problems. All the others were great motors except for the evinrude. I think I had a lemon. Everything from power heads to lower leg problems. Yamaha and Honda speak for themselves. Flawless. The honda4 got stolen or I would still have it. I liked the merc best I think for personal taste reasons because it was a bit older and a very "aggressive" motor. sidenote-all saltwater use, no fresh.
  24. When I was growing up there was a pond at the cemetary. It wasn't in the view of anyone visiting the cemetary so I didn't feel it was disrespectful to go fish it. It wasn't anything too special but it wasn't fished by anyone else either so it was like our secret.
