Ned Rig Jig Head Colors?
I've never used anything other than black or green pumpkin and never had a problem catching fish.

Shimano Expride Owners...your favorite model?
Yeah, I just like the 6'10" for creek fishing.

Shimano Curado K Vs SLX XT
I own a few of both, the K feels more sturdy and the build quality is nicer than the SLX. But, I have smaller hands and prefer the SLX size over the K.

2020 Shimano Metanium Thread
Haha, yeah I agree. ? Thanks, well looks like I'll be grabbing a few Curado DC's as I can't wait until May. I'll try and get a Metanium early summer.

2020 Shimano Metanium Thread
I was planning on buying a few Curado DC reels before Spring but I'm having second thoughts. I might buy a few of these instead. When do you think we'll see a release date on LH models? I know the LH retrieve Shimano models are always a few months behind the RH.

Most Comfortable pants
For summer I usually wear the Columbia PFG zip off pants.

New the board, REALLY need good advice here!
I use the Curado K 6.2 on all my crankbait rods.

Most expensive lure you own
Jackhammer but I'm about to pull the trigger on some swimbaits as I want to venture into that wormhole.

Crankbaits for the coming year, suggestions.
I'll add another vote for 6th sense cranks. I used to only buy SK, KVD and Rapalas until trying a 6th sense and now I haven't bought any others in a while. They are well made, sharp factory hooks and have some really cool colors.

Rod selection for swimbaits?
I recently started throwing swim baits in the length and size you are talking about and I used my Dobyns Sierra 734c and it seemed to do great. It's a pretty versatile rod from what I've read on here.

The latest sale thread
I don't buy a lot of stuff from Cabelas as it's mostly overpriced and I try to support my other local independently owned bait shop here in town. I have about $200 in gift cards to Cabelas from the Holidays. I know they have a Spring fishing "classic" sale but don't remember the specifics on what is on sale. I know I usually see the BPS brand rods and reels on sale but do they mark down Shimano or Daiwa reels? Trying to decide on whether to wait and buy a new DC reel until Spring or go ahead and do it now.

Jerkbait/Topwater Rod recommendations St Croix?
I own a 66MF Avid for jerkbaits and don't ever really use it as I don't throw a jerk probably as often as I should. I'm sure it would make a great topwater rod too but I have a Mojo Bass I use for all my topwater lures.

rod brand
Yep, a bit more than your $150 budget but the Avid is an excellent choice. I own several and much prefer them over the Mojo Bass.
-
What lures did you lose the most in 2019?
Crankbaits and ned rigs.
-
rod brand
Dobyns Fury St. Croix Mojo Bass

Dark Sleeper
I have a few 3/8 but like others said, they're really small. I've never fished them but hope to try some next season.

What makes a good (sensative) rod/blank? What's the difference between $100 rod and $800 rod
Nope, I was referring to what the idiot manager at the store told the OP.

LOL, Favorite better than Loomis, St. Croix or Dobyns? I need some of what he's smoking.
