  1. I've never used anything other than black or green pumpkin and never had a problem catching fish.
  2. Yeah, I just like the 6'10" for creek fishing.
  3. I own a few of both, the K feels more sturdy and the build quality is nicer than the SLX. But, I have smaller hands and prefer the SLX size over the K.
  4. Haha, yeah I agree. ? Thanks, well looks like I'll be grabbing a few Curado DC's as I can't wait until May. I'll try and get a Metanium early summer.
  5. I was planning on buying a few Curado DC reels before Spring but I'm having second thoughts. I might buy a few of these instead. When do you think we'll see a release date on LH models? I know the LH retrieve Shimano models are always a few months behind the RH.
  6. Wow, this is going to be a home run!
  7. With that ratio, crankbaits.
  8. For summer I usually wear the Columbia PFG zip off pants.
  9. I use the Curado K 6.2 on all my crankbait rods.
  10. Jackhammer but I'm about to pull the trigger on some swimbaits as I want to venture into that wormhole.
  11. I'll add another vote for 6th sense cranks. I used to only buy SK, KVD and Rapalas until trying a 6th sense and now I haven't bought any others in a while. They are well made, sharp factory hooks and have some really cool colors.
  12. I recently started throwing swim baits in the length and size you are talking about and I used my Dobyns Sierra 734c and it seemed to do great. It's a pretty versatile rod from what I've read on here.
  13. I don't buy a lot of stuff from Cabelas as it's mostly overpriced and I try to support my other local independently owned bait shop here in town. I have about $200 in gift cards to Cabelas from the Holidays. I know they have a Spring fishing "classic" sale but don't remember the specifics on what is on sale. I know I usually see the BPS brand rods and reels on sale but do they mark down Shimano or Daiwa reels? Trying to decide on whether to wait and buy a new DC reel until Spring or go ahead and do it now.
  14. I own a 66MF Avid for jerkbaits and don't ever really use it as I don't throw a jerk probably as often as I should. I'm sure it would make a great topwater rod too but I have a Mojo Bass I use for all my topwater lures.
  15. Yep, a bit more than your $150 budget but the Avid is an excellent choice. I own several and much prefer them over the Mojo Bass.
  16. Crankbaits and ned rigs.
  17. Dobyns Fury St. Croix Mojo Bass
  18. TBAG replied to Smokinal's topic in Fishing Tackle
I have a few 3/8 but like others said, they're really small. I've never fished them but hope to try some next season.
  19. I use an Avid X 68MXF paired with a Stradic 2500 Ci4+
  20. Nope, I was referring to what the idiot manager at the store told the OP.
  21. LOL, Favorite better than Loomis, St. Croix or Dobyns? I need some of what he's smoking.
