  1. Hey Yeajray, I hope you don't think I am implying that you are telling a lie. I believe you saw what you saw but what you saw was not a demon. Many people have evil visions like you had constantly and in some cases it happens so often that it affects their physical and mental health. Look up sleep paralysis and you will read of stories just like the one you posted. -Z
  2. Thats sleep paralysis. Ive had four or five episodes in my life where Ive felt something pull on my legs, sit on my back, or get in the bed behind me. Yeajray231 had one of the worst kinds where you see evil demon like creatures.
  3. I didnt realize there was a "Nylon" version of Defier. What differences do you notice between that and the "Nylon Monofilament" version in the green spool? Less stretch and more abrasion resistance? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LNESUNLINE.html?from=basres Thanks -z
  4. I am right handed. I used to have all right handed baitcasters several yrs ago. I tried a left handed reel for 3 or 4 hours and replaced all of my reels with lefties shortly after.
  5. yeah, scaleface, that cigar looks hand rolled too. Cuban or from Colorado?
  6. have you tried throwing bladed jigs on the 7'MH fast rod? Should work fine.
  7. I like a 7'-7'4" MH/mod-fast rod usually. I just picked up an Orochi XX Diablo Spec-R which I heard is great for chatterbaits
  8. snowboard, poker and buying more tackle I don't need gets me through.
  9. soft plastics followed by jigs.
  10. if you dont mind the slightly lower line capacity of the JDM version, you can get them for about $305 shipped. just buy a spare USDM spool because you need two anyway, right? chronarch has brass gears. metanium is a bit lighter and magnesium and ive heard more than a couple people mention that they are more sensitive than aluminum reels- believe it or not. can anyone compare the MGL to the DC reel?
  11. one setup, open water - id go with yo-zuri hybrid 12#
  12. counter clockwise it is! sorry, I have the lefty model
  13. It looks like I might just have to suck it up as a loss and buy a new spool assembly from shimano.
  14. Thanks, J Francho. I called Shimano and they do not sell the brake assembly, you have to buy the complete spool assembly. They also said you cannot take the brake hub off of the spool which sounds strange because the one I received does not have one. If anyone knows of any place that I can get a hold of a SVS Infinity assembly or knows of another solution, let me know. Thanks, -Z
  15. catch new PB with 5" hard swimbait (that's big around my way!)
  16. This might be a stupid thing to ask but did the lever go all the way down to "Open"? Mine seems to click twice before its fully open. Then the plate slides down or clockwise a bit before pulling off the reel.
  17. I have the previous model that I love and the newer one is even better so I'd highly recommend it. The bad side is I cant use aluminum spinning reels anymore.
  18. Hello, I recently purchased a used spool for a 2015 Aldebaran to have as a spare to be able to swap between two different lines. The spool did not come with the brake shoes or the hub. I am calling the brake hub the part that the brake shoes attach to, I did not see this part on Shimano spool assembly schematics so I am not sure what the actual name for this part is. Can I swap brake discs? I tried to pull the one i have off of the spool but it wouldnt come off easily I was scared to damage it. How do you remove it? If the hub and shoes are not something that is easily transferable from one spool to another, can I buy another one? Shimano does not have the Aldebaran parts listed on their site and other reels schematics do not show this part, only the spool assembly that I assume comes with it installed. Thanks for the help! -Z
  19. trim weed guard almost 100% of the time. about even with hook barb. I never thin it. trim skirt sometimes - if its too long or interferes with trailer action.
  20. Id look at the st croix mojo. check out st croix warranty. Med Power XF action for senkos and other plastics/small jigs, F action for versatility. Just something to think about, might not be the right advice for you - senkos are not light but they are fun and easty to fish on spinning rods. For moving baits over 1/8oz and heavier jigs/plastics, baitcasters are king. For a first baitcaster I would recommend a MH/F rod for every bait other than very light, very heavy baits and deep diving cranks. A MH/F with a tip that is not too stiff will work just fine with 5" senkos.
  21. Tough one! I have to list at least 3. NRX 843c with Scorpion 71 HG, GLX BCR 803 with Aldebaran 51 HG and NRX 852s with Stradic Ci4+ 2500
  22. i caught my first bass (smallmouth) about 30 yrs ago on an inline spinner. that gave me confidence using artificial bait. ive been targeting bass for about 25 yrs now.
