  1. wow, that made me mad just reading it. you have a much calmer temper than i do and i consider myself a laid back guy. that would have put me over the top!
  2. is that the US version of the scorpion xt 1000? cant seem to find it under low-profile baitcasters...
  3. i have not fished any of the other of the BCR casting rods rods but ive heard people mention that the 803 has a different feel than the longer 3 power bcr rods. might be something worth looking into. Bronzefly?
  4. colors: green pumpkin / black / black-blue or bait fish colors i always have these on hand: double tail hula grub baby brush hog craw papi paca craw crazy legs chigger craw trick worm/finesse worm fat ika rage tail baits (baby rage craw) 3.5" tubes 4" grubs senko
  5. id get a shimano reel - 2500 size sahara-symetre-stradic the power of the spinning rod would depend on cover and baits you want to use. id go with a fast tip for best "all around" action. avid-imx-glx
  6. t-rigged, 3/16oz, pegged hold on!
  7. my girlfriend is having some back muscle problems and was told to stay off the kayak for a while so i ordered a Minn Kota Endura 50lb 42" trolling motor (12v) to attach to alumium boats that we will rent. ($197 at Walmart compared to $240+) What are the specs that im looking for in a deep cycle marine battery to power this motor? any brand recommendations that are a good value? what specs am i looking for in a charger? would you recommend any particular model? thanks in advance -z
  8. i'd get an avid crankbait rod and save some cash for your bottom bait rod where sensitivity is more important. id look at the loomis bcr803 glx for a worm/jig rod or the mbr783 glx for a more "all around" rod. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewgloomisjwbcr803.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewIMX783C.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewtsfobaselineglx200.html
  9. other people's music = noise pollution
  10. 5" yamamoto double tail hula grub, 1/4oz arkie jighead
  11. i think the most of the members on here would prefer to watch this vs the world cup http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/07/11/red.neck.games/index.html?hpt=P1&iref=NS1
  12. not really secrets but my favs this yr: 1/4oz bitsy bug (green craw/black) 3" craw papi, 3" paca craw , baby rage craw, zoom tiny chunk small plastic swimbaits on 1/4oz yamamoto swimbait jigheads zoom baby brush hog, 3/16oz worm weight, eagle claw bobber stop
  13. your avatar is fine. its not like it shows any violence towards a child or anything.
  14. disregard! keep it! i misread and for some reason was thinking of a different rod, a heavy baitcaster. i actually own the bsr852 and if i only had one spinning rod, id keep this one. your finesse fishing is covered very well! I agree with Bronzefly's post above 100% i use my bsr852 for light jig/t-rig and heavier weightless plastics (senko, ika etc) mbr844 is another good one to look at (in the near future) for heavier jigs/t-rig, small swimbaits, light frogging. i started upgrading my baitcasters a little over a year ago and have these now: bcr803 mbr783 mbr844 next one will be the mbr782 or 842 mainly for small moving baits: crankbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits. check your PM for decent Loomis discount to make up for my mistake
  15. although not technique specific, the mbr783 would add a shorter rod to your quiver that i love to throw spinnerbaits with. its great for plastics and jigs too. not so great for bigger crankbaits but works temporarily if you like throwing spinnerbaits on a moderate action get a decent crankbait rod. i spend more on my bottom bait rods... if you go neither crankbait rod or fast action mbr, maybe finesse spinning? looks like you need something for baits weighing less than 1/4oz?
  16. sweet. i can throw away these magnums! seriously though, thats awesome news.
  17. a shock leader? what is the reason for the larger leader for bass fishing? chucking big swimbaits/plugs? i guess you wouldnt use it for most braided lines, a 100# leader on 50#PP is going to be huge! roadwarrior - why do you use such heavy braided line (as many others do, including pros) on your setups? im just curious, i just started playing around with 20#PP, and it seems about 30# would be strong enough for heavy cover. -z
  18. you have watch the tv for 3hrs for 1hr of game time!
  19. i have a 1000 symetre on my ultralight and i wouldnt want to go smaller. i think the 1000 is almost the same size as the 500 with a bigger spool but i may be incorrect. im using green 4lb Yo Zuri ultrasoft.
  20. IMO 7:1 is best for jigs/plastics. i have the chronarch mg51 and the curado 201e7 and recommend both. i hope to get a core 51 (7:1) soon. from what ive read, it sounds perfect for t-rigs.
  21. id consider any day that i spend fishing to be successful. a goal i like to exceed is 3 bass when fishing a half day, 6 on a full day.
  22. how light? what lure weights will you be throwing? check out loomis' sjr line in IMX or GLX i just bought the sjr782 imx Monster Tackle has 25% off of Loomis rods with free shipping Code is: Loom25
  23. check out the st. croix avid series. you will find plenty of reviews on here and they have a great warranty.
