Team9nine, just curious, the lakes you tie braid directly to lure, how clear would you say the water is?

How to Set the hook on a Spinnerbait?
did they shake free at the boat when you were trying to land them or did they jump and shake it off during the fight? keeping your rod low will help keep them from jumping during a fight. sometimes you cant stop them and you just lose the fish. if they were lost at the boat you might want to make sure you didnt leave any slack when you took one hand off the rod to land the fish. keep your rod up and away with your other hand to keep any slack out. if using light line, make sure your drag is loose so you wont snap the line if the bass decides to make a power move.

i usually use low vis green with mono and copoly and clear with flouro. i plan on trying high vis braid with clear flouro leader this year. anyone tried or heard any reviews on the berkley tracer braid?

Modern Warfare 2
ive been level 70 forever. whats the point of prestige? all you get are new emblems right? all of my guns, perks, equipment for new call signs? hmmmmmm another of my fav profiles ACR - red dot/silencer bling pro stopping power pro steady aim pro if youre a SCAR fan and havent tried the ACR yet, give it a chance. takes more hits but its way more accurate and the first hit stuns them anyways... if i could change one thing it would be the stabbing from 10 ft away. (im looking at you, lightweight commando pros with tactical knife)

ive never seen her but if youre not sure if shes hot or not its usually the latter replys above asking if shes a gender-bender and saying she looks like a man is not a good sign.

which hooks for what plastics
i havent fished a floating worm in a while but i used to use colors that were easy to see. i never got a bite on pink but many swear by it. you can mess around with hooks sizes and hook weight depending on how fast you want to work the lure. dont be afraid to use a 4/0 on a six inch worm. with an ewg (extra wide gap) hook of proper length, you shouldnt have to worry about the thickness of the plastic. for the wacky rigged senkos, i like to use gamakatsu drop shot hooks. usually size 1 or 1/0. im not sure if they are ideal for weightless wacky but i have a high hook up ratio and rarely any gut hooked fish.

Need recommendations for two rod and reel combos for shoreline fishing
i learned early in life with my many hobbies to buy nice stuff from the beginning so you dont end up with 2. im not saying a $150 combo is not nice, but if youre like me you'll end up upgrading it. if i were you id get one nice combo and save up for another later. get something with a good warranty that covers any damage (usually with an exchange fee) $150-$200 rod, $80-$125 reel for example: st. croix avid rod shimano symetre 2500 or daiwa tierra 2500 spinning reel shimano citica or shimano curado baitcasting reel other rod brands i recommend: shimano, rogue, fenwick, falcon, st.croix heard good things these rods: powell, all-star, dobyns, kistler daiwa baitcasters and abu garcia revos are recommended alot too. edit: if i only had two rods id get the same specs you listed with two small differences. med-light spinning and 7' casting

Burning Spinnerbaits
i burn them in clear water usually. you can burn most spinnerbaits but many are not ideal to burn out of the box. adding small blades to a heavy bait will help. here are some brands that were recommended to me but i havent tried yet: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1267223551

help with a decent spinnerbait setup
id go 6'6" to 7', medium heavy or heavy, fast action. 6'6" for accuracy, 7' for longer casts.

which hooks for what plastics
i use gamakatsu EWG hooks for texas rigged plastics. size i use is generally about 1/2 to 3/4 the length of the bait i buy every size from 1/0 to 5/0 in the larger packs.

Fat Ikas for large mouth?
rig it weightless and backwards (skirt up) and it will actually sink away from you. for example, if you land it next a log it should sink under the log.

loomis bronzeback vs avid
thanks for the input, fellas. i dont think i'll be able to test it out, he's driving up this wkend and probably won't have time to fish. i'm going to tell him to go ahead and bring it. several people have told me its a mix of gl3 and imx and if thats true it should be a good deal. roadwarrior - its funny you mentioned whippy and soft because i was told this rod had a very fast taper and was good for soft plastics. do you remember which model you tried and thought was soft? there seems to be alot of differences between the different bronzeback models. cheers -z

Go for the big bite this year or numbers?
i guess im in the minority. unless its a new PB, id rather fight five 4lb'ers on 6lb test than waterski one 6lb'er to the boat with a broomstick and 60lb test for bragging rights. (dont laugh. 6lb is a big fish up my way) if i want big game i hit the coast.

loomis bronzeback vs avid
my friend is offering me a great deal on a SMR752S-SP. i was thinking of using it for small jerk baits and maybe skipping small plastics. how sensitive are the non-glx bronzeback rods? how do they compare to avid or imx? thanks -z

Need your advice on my new combo!
sounds like a great combo for everything except crankbaits and light lures. ive never fished that rod but by looking at the specs id say its best for jigs and t-rigs up to 1/2 oz plus trailer. you might like it for spinnerbaits up to 5/8oz too. im not sure if youre familiar with braid, but alot of people use flouro leaders in clear and lightly stained water.

Float Tubes (catching on slowly)
i think they would be great for fishing remote lakes and ponds that dont have road access.
