  1. That video was highly offensive Eddie. Did you see how they laid that fish on the ground?
  2. Beautiful rod, that is similar to what I want for my first rod build.

  7. As a native Michigander we call our Vernors pop! I remember when I moved to NY. I thought that the term soda was snooty. -Shore

  10. Ah youth... personally I found Snapper G incredibly amusing. People are far too uptight for their own good. Plus I am surprised the amount of people that take things on the internet seriously. RIP Snapper G
  11. Well I fished the BR lure this weekend. There was a heck of a crankbait bite on but I was determined so I tied on my Megabass Vision 110 (story of the lure here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1217385063) and was using it to find fish so I could throw the BR lure in there and catch one. The Megabass is a heck of a lot easier to throw than the ultra light BR lure. I was ripping the Vision past some reeds and got it to the boat and for some reason swept it hard down the length of the boat. As soon as I did that a very large pike came in, hammered it, and took off. My drag started screaming and the rod bent way over and "pop"... he cut me off. I was a little ill at the thought of losing my Vision but I am so thankful it wasn't the BR lure. Needless to say I'm not going to risk it and will pass it on to the next in line. I can't find a titanium leader that wouldn't ruin the action anyways. Thanks for the opportunity and best of luck to those that follow. -Shore
  12. i rock 4 and wish i had more but i only use 2 on the shore
  13. They did a study on some fishing show and the Palomar outperformed all other knots. I use the Palomar.
  14. Well I'll be. Congrats Dave
  15. WHAT WAS THAT MIDDLE PART AGAIN? I COULDN'T HEAR YOU! I tell ya one thing though, I love my Shimano Curado B. I'm pretty sure the B stands for butter. -Shore

  17. I received the lure today. Thanks Simon. It's not near as beat up as I thought it would be considering... It's been raining constantly all week here in NY but this weekend I'm hoping it will get better. I am itching to fish. I will do my best to get some nice pics. I kinda wish I had some of those Ti luresavers split-rings to put on it. I'd hate to be to the one to lose it (knock on wood). Anyways I'll get some pics of the lunker I get (batting 1000 with karma eh? : ). Seriously though I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this great idea. Yours truly, -Shore
  18. Beautiful fish. I wonder if there are any sturgeon up in Lake Ontario?
  19. Detroit here's the easy way: Find the pic on any website you want. Right-click (right mouse button) on the pic and select properties. Copy the full location i.e. http://i10.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/10/70/7754_1.JPG You do this by carefully selecting the full line as above and then right-clicking again on your selection and choosing Copy. Then when you're posting here on bassresource click the third button on the top row from the left on the actual post screen. The one that looks like a little postcard and says "Insert Image" when you mouse hover over it. It will post a an img and a /img surrounded by brackets and you need to paste the location string in between the img and the /img brackets. Once you click Post it will appear like this: You can do it! Let me know if you have trouble. -Shore
  20. Detroit1 was close enough. It is a Winchester 3 hook underwater minnow. Detroit your turn to post. -Shore

LBH has a good story about sinking hooks into digits. Myself I have this one: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1217385063/0 -Shore
  22. Good fish, looks like fun. I need to find me some private farm ponds. The golf courses out here don't seem to understand my needs.
  23. Incredible photos, I love the high country. Must be all the westerns I've watched over the years. Those brooks looked tasty.
  24. In my admittedly limited experience I would have to agree. Smallies are great fun and run and jump and raise a ruckus but big Largemouth do seem to have a knack for getting unbuttoned or causing trouble in general. Also I've noticed a big difference between individual fish. Last Saturday I hooked a 4lb LMB that I swore was a 36+ inch pike...until he surfaced. Hit a buzzbait at night like a semi and then when he got close enough to detect the canoe I thought he was going to flip me for sure. I've never had a LM fight like that before. I know exactly what Catt means. -Shore
