  18. Hey folks, The bass fishing community isn't very big relative to other sports. We're really more like a big extended family. Everyone knows each other in the industry. So when a legend is in need, we respond. Please keep Chris and Jimmy Houston, and their family, in your thoughts and prayers. They need all the support they can get right now.
  19. For slow rolling, I use straight fluorocarbon line (Seaguar InivizX), 15lb - no leader. 6'8" - 7'1" med/hvy rod, fast action tip. Be sure to hold the rod tip near the water, and hold the rod to the side (almost 90 degrees) so you can feel that blade thumping. That will make a huge difference in feel. As mentioned, the bite can be subtle. So any change in thumping cadence, or changing from a "thump, thump, thump" to a "thud, thud, thud," could be a bite.
  20. How to fish a new lake for bass in Spring and the top 5 lures that work! Where to find Spring bass, what baits to throw, and how to catch bass in Spring. Finding fish on new lakes in Spring.
  21. My father is in his 80's, and shoots competitive sporting clays, ranking in the top 5 in the nation of his age group. He still fishes too. Age is a mindset. When I was in my 20's, my friends and college professors weren't giving me the knowledge I knew I needed to know. I wanted to learn lifetime pragmatic lessons that were real-world, timeless, and immediately applicable. So I surrounded myself with retirees. I deliberately made friends with them, went fishing with them, and went on vacation with them. These were former CEO's, senior managers, executives, business owners, and more. They taught me the important and complex things that aren't taught in any college classroom: people skills. Many have passed on, but I still hear their voices and wisdom guiding me every day.
