The issue happened when it was 14 years old.

Almost had a trailer failure!
Hey guys, it's that time of year we start getting our equipment ready for the season. It's a good time to give your boat and trailer a thorough inspection. Glad I did! You might want to check your trailer for this.

Deep Freeze In The Deep South
Just saw the national news said Seattle had 9" in 24 hours "the most ever recorded in 50 years". Uh...classic example of somebody not doing their homework. Seattle had 11" fall in 24hrs in 1996. I'm not very good at math, but I think that's less than 50 years. LOL!

Oregon got dealerships
Spokane Valley Marine sells bass boats as well. That's where we got our boat. Good place to find consignments, and they have good service as well.

Now I know why bass numbers have declined.
Yes, it's true they believe that, even though there's been numerous studies to prove how much damage they do have turned up zero evidence. Really all those studies have done nothing more than to prove quite the opposite. The most damming evidence shows salmon consist of just 2% of a smallmouth's diet on the Columbia. Nonetheless, both Oregon and WA dept of wildlife have removed all restrictions on smallmouth, walleye, and catfish because of the very vocal and misinformed salmon anglers. You know, the same ones actively killing the salmon they say the want to save? By the tens of thousands? Ya, them.

Finesse jigs on baitcasters
I'm a fan of 1/4 and 1/2oz Booyah Finance jigs on baitcasters during winter. Small finesse jig with a strong hook.

You ever just undress and dive for your lost lure?
Anyway....back on topic.

Help with a rod
Back on topic please.

You ever just undress and dive for your lost lure?
Not me, but my fishing buddy. I gave him one of my jigs because the fish were just chompin' on them, and he snagged it in about 9' of water. He stuck a log. He insisted on getting it back. It was summer and sunny. He was wearing shorts. So he emptied his pockets, took off his shirt, and went dumpster diving for it. Took him a few tries, but he finally got it. Fortunately I carry towels on board just in case somebody goes overboard. I had a camera too, though he'd probably kill me if I posted the picture of him all wet and toweling off. LOL!

Check Your Trailer Suspension!
This is the time of year people start bringing their boats in for the annual Spring maintenance and repairs before the season gets underway. Now is a good time to check your trailer suspension. You could be in for a surprise!

Winter fishing zoom call series
Sunday 4pm wha??? This Sunday? That's during the Superbowl. I may not have a pony in this year's race, but I'm still going to watch it end-to-end. If for no other reason than to watch the commercials :). Maybe you meant next week Sunday?

WA Team Crushes The Competition
Man, the WA team at the Western Divisional put the hammer down and laid down the gauntlet, beating out the 2nd place team by nearly 50 lbs!! That's a dominating, decisive victory! Taylor Swift of WA beat out more than 180 competitors to take the win in the individual category. And the rest of the WA team dominated the top 35. Stellar job guys. Way to represent! https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bass-havasu-2521.html

Line Reviews?
Well thanks, I appreciate that, really I do. But I'm not fishing for compliments. I know there's a lot of cheesy "reviews" out there, and that waters down the better reviews out there. Comes with the territory. I switched to P-Line Fluoroclear when Andes went off the market. Hated it. Abrasion resistance was terrible and I had several failed knots. I tried Yo-Zuri because RW really liked it. It's been a good all-purpose line for me. No complaints here. That said, the Seaguar lines take it to the next level, hands down. Should've asked me first.

Line Reviews?
Reviews are a PITA to make. You do all you can to put the product through several tests under a variety of situations, using your own style, and report your actual experiences, trying to be detailed but not boring. If you leave out specs - even the ones written right on the packaging - people complain you're not thorough and say you don't know squat about the product. If you leave in specs, people complain you're not providing any useful information and you're just repeating marketing-speak. If you like the product, people say you have a "hidden" motives (e.g. "You must be sponsored by them"). If you don't like the product, brand fans jump all over you for not liking their beloved thingamajig. Either way, most people say your review is a bunch of bull no matter what you say. All I can say is that my reviews are accurate to the bone. I don't want lead anyone astray, so I tell it like it is. If it helps people, great! But I ignore the negative comments that follow.

Fake Facebook Pages
Folks - if you EVER receive a "friend request" from BassResource on Facebook, it's fake. Official pages cannot send "friend requests"; you can't "friend" pages, only "like" them. Keep that in mind if ANY page sends you a "friend request." It's fake. Note: There currently is NOT a fake BassResource page out there, but this issue is occurring to other bass fishing-related pages such as Batson Enterprises and YUM baits.. So I'm being pro-active with this message. Thanks!
