  1. It was fun. I enjoyed it. I think monthly is too long between. I'm thinking weekly every Tues? Or bi-weekly?
  2. Thanks for starting this Tom.
  3. Winter bass fishing offers a great shot at BIG bass! Here are my best lures and techniques to catch monster bass this time of year. Enjoy!
  4. Chrome and Firefox privacy modes ignore "always allowed cookies" settings for each new session, which causes a new device record for every new Incognito session even though you're using the same browser. I would argue Incognito mode is unnecessary, but if you choose to use it, then expect to get some odd behavior from various websites. In Chrome, you can try to allow cookies from BassResource by going to Settings-->privacy and security-->cookies and other site data-->"sites that can always use cookies". Click "add" and enter "[*].bassresource.com" This might help, but if you're using Incognito mode, the settings may be ignored. Just another reason not to use it.
  5. Simms ProDry Gloves. They're 2 gloves-in-one. Outer is Goretex waterproof and warm - for driving down the lake. It has lambskin palms for gripping wet steering wheels. Inner lining is fingerless, 100% merino wool, and has a heatpack pocket at the wrist. Simms also has many other fingerless fishing gloves for cold weather. Just go here.
  6. I recall when the Hawks won their division with a 7-9 record, resulting in a playoff game at home. People were outraged. It's since happened several times with other teams, and will happen again this year. Where are those people now?

I use the Booyah Finance Jig. And yes, I flip/pitch it into heavy cover. Watch this for proof:
  8. Teams like that are scary. They have nothing to lose and all to prove.
  9. There it is. That's the reason. Unless you have some serious reasons to use incognito mode, such as if you're a developer and need to QA your code, it's really not necessary. Cookies are not dangerous and won't harm your computer.
  10. I'm in if my schedule permits.
  11. How many NASCAR drivers never won a major event? How many PGA pros never won a "pro" event? How many NBA, MLB, NFL, players never won a championship? I'm not sure what's the point of this thread.
  12. Newsletters are completely separate from the forums. They are not connected in any way. That's because you're not accepting cookies from BassResource. Whitelist BassResource in your anti-virus, anti-ad software, and/or accept cookies from BassResource in your browser, and those notifications will go away.
  13. Hey folks! With the new forums comes the ability for me to validate the email addresses associated with your profiles. Basically I can tell whether or not it's still working. What I discovered is that's there's a number of you that have old email addresses in your profiles that no longer exist. That means you cannot use the "forgot password" feature, nor will you get the email notifications that you want. So can you please check your profile and check to ensure everything is current? You can check by clicking your name in the upper right, then "Account Settings". From there you can change your email as well as your notification settings. Thanks! Glenn
  14. So the technical explanation for that, is that the cached files and cookies from BassResource expire after 2 weeks. Yesterday would have been exactly 2 weeks after the redesign launch. Glad it's working for you now!
  15. People like to support the brands they like. Why do you think people buy branded clothing (Nike, Apple, Ford, etc), or hats/jerseys of their favorite team...player? Are they trying to pretend they're employed by that company, or on those teams? No. But they want to show their support; and that's what branded apparel does. Nothing wrong with that. So if somebody wants to wear a jersey with logos of the brands they like, great! To me, it says they really enjoy the sport of bass fishing.
  16. Hey guys! Some of you want to take your significant other, daughter, sister, etc out fishing, but you're not if she'll like it. Here's a few tips to help you out.

    Anybody out crappie fishing?
  18. Fog results as water gives up its heat. So fog usually occurs in the fall when air temp is cooler than the water temp.
  19. You may wish to clear your cookies (as this selection is held in a cookie) and cache then attempt again.
  20. Long ago I had a good buddy who was an incredible angler. He should've turned pro but did not have that aspiration. We used to joke he could feel a fish breath on lure. I nicknamed him "Hoover" because he seemed to be able catch every fish in a given area, leaving nothing behind for his backseater (me). He was that good, but he was also an amazing tutor. I learned a lot from him. Then Aquaview came out, and that changed everything. It was a shocker to learn how many fish simply ignored our proven and go-to baits at times. It changed our perspective, and was humbling at the same time. The key takeaway was that we didn't know as much as we thought we did, but we learned a lot more with that discovery. It made us both better anglers. Never. Stop. Learning. I think the term "Expert" applies to people who are very experienced but they continue to learn themselves, knowing they're not a "know it all". The best ones are willing to share what they do know in order to help other "Experts", but are knowledge-seekers themselves.
  21. Thanks. I'll look into it.
  22. Ah, good catch. I see what's going on. Just a naming convention issue. "Bass Fishing Forums" is the name of the forums, but so is a forum section which the "General" forum belongs. I changed the name of the section, so the breadcrumb isn't as confusing. Thanks!
  23. I have the Z-series. Aside from some leaking issues that ARE resolved, it's been a good cap. I really like the electronic locks. I also have the bedrug. Very durable. You can get it dirty and then just vacuum or hose it down. My only complaint is that the double-backed tape/velcro isn't a great way to hold it in place, especially if you have a spray on bedliner.
