  1. Had a friend of mine hook himself (lightly) through his sweatpants....right next to....his family jewels...with a crankbait So there he was.... He was a rather large man, so he couldn't see how he was hooked, let alone reach down there to fix the problem. He sorta wimpered to his fishing partner (no, it wasn't me) for help. "A little help please" So there they were.... Fishing partner down on his knees, trying to delicately remove said hooks.... Well, you could imagine what it looked like from afar. During a club tournament. So club members saw. We've never let them forget about it. After all, what are friends for?
  2. Hmmm.... I grew up on old school C&W...I mean, old school. Jimmy Rodgers, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Horton, June Carter, Roy Clark, Patty Page, Hank Williams, and Jim Reeves. My parents had quite the record collection, and I've heard all these artists albums over and over again. My folks were also into square dancing big time. My first concert, at age 7, was the Statler Bros and Hank Snow. Watched Hee Haw every week. This is a cool thread. Brings back memories. But...does that mean I prefer old school country over the new stuff? Naw. Really, I like it all...for the most part. Luke Bryan would be the exception. LOL
  3. This may very well may be the last spooler you will need. Solid, durable easy to use and fast, strips most baitcasting reels in less than a minute. It might not be cheap but it's built to last and use again and again. Take a look and give it a try. https://sportsmaninnovations.com/
  4. That's correct. Brady and Gronk are just 2 guys. Talented, yes, but just 2 guys on a 53 man roster....and they don't play defense. Maybe if the Bucs make a few good drafts, trades, and free agent acquisitions, they'll be contenders in a year or two. But as good as Brady and Gronk are, they're not miracle workers. I will go as far as saying the Bucs will improve throughout the season, and will have a decent record at the end of the year. Possibly 8-8 or 9-7. Hey, at least they're not the Panthers.
  5. If you don't know the answer, then you haven't been paying attention to the Classics.
  6. Um ya, that's what I meant. Sure.
  7. Have you seen this video yet? There's some juicy nuggets of information spread throughout. Definitely a must see!
  8. Glenn replied to Fishnski48's topic in Fishing Tackle
Yup, I have a video on that too.
  9. Ya, I cut them at least 1/2 off, if not more. But like others have said, you need to walk the dog in order to catch fish with it. As I have mentioned numerous times in my frog videos, the beauty of the hollow-bodied frog is that it floats. Use that advantage. Sometimes just twitching it a little and then letting it sit there motionless will illicit vicious strikes.
  10. Ya, Brent thought he could dictate where BR held its roadtrips because he was a sponsor. He got all PO'd when I wouldn't have it at a lake near his home (there weren't any accommodations large enough to hold the event). So he left. Without the sponsorship, his business dried up real quick. He shuttered the doors shortly thereafter.
  11. In case you missed it.
  12. Here's your answer (the video starts right at your answer):
  13. Yes, it begins Oct 3. Anyone can participate, which means anyone can win. Plus there's the auction too...which is amazing!
  14. Well played....well played.
  15. Well, thanks for the kind words guys. I'm truly humbled. However I wasn't mining for compliments. I was looking for reasons why my videos don't get mentioned much. There must be several reasons. I'd like to know. That said, I realize the videos aren't the OMG!!!, shaky GoPro cam, 1st person perspective of fish catching with little-to-no educational content. That's by design. That's not my style, so I won't fake it, even if it's what all the other kids are doing. Also, I don't mean to hijack this thread, so feel free to PM me with your thoughts rather than cluttering up this thread. Thanks for the input!
  16. This is why I don't fish as many tournaments as I used to. Just the whole ego thing makes my stomach churn. Some of the guys in these regional circuits and opens act like it's MLF or the Classic. I've been to 14 Classics, several Elite events, and have been in a few 300+ boat tournaments. There's no comparison. Not even close. OH if they only knew how ridiculous they look! They kinda look like somebody walking into McDonald's as if they're a big spender. So to see these guys puffing their chests, acting like they know something you don't, acting like they're superior to everyone one around them so move out of "my" spot....that's not fishing. That behavior tarnishes the reputation of bass fishing. True, I've been beat those guys, and by local club guys too. But I also have my share of wins. We all have good and bad tournaments. Doesn't mean you're any better or less than the next guy. But those egos just ruin the experience for me.
  17. Seriously? Over 500 videos and no mention? Are my videos really that bad? Lay it on me. Do I suck that bad? Don't hold back.
  18. Geeze man, that's terrible news. So sorry to hear that. Prayers for your family. Do they have any idea when power will be restored? Any word on relief efforts?
  19. As always, I think it's way too early to be making playoff predictions. It all depends on who's left standing at the end of the season. Gotta hand it to the Hawks last year. At one point, they had 17 starters sidelined, and had ZERO running backs going into the post-season. They had to get creative to fill open roster spots...even brought back Lynch for a grand finale appearance. But they still remained competitive enough to make a run of it despite the heavy attrition. Point is, injuries can ruin a playoff run; or in the case of the Hawks, leave them limping into the playoffs with no hope of going the distance. So...no predictions from me yet. Just looking forward to finally watching live football again.
  20. They're using science and DNA to capture tournament cheaters these days. Read on to learn more.. https://wildlife.utah.gov/news/officers-on-patrol/878-men-charged-cheating-lake-powell-fishing-tournament.html
  21. Ok, is it sad that I miss pre-season so much that I'm watching Red-Zone replays from last year? I know....I have a problem. "Hello, my name is Glenn, and I'm an addict"
  22. Whelp, I had hoped to have an announcement for you guys this week but ran into a snag, thus delaying the announcement. Will have something for you....soon.
  23. Glad you got the tree removed. Hopefully at a reasonable cost. I know what you mean about the power. We had an ice storm about 10 years ago. It dropped a forest-full of trees all over the area, knocking out power to 4 million people - some for several weeks. Fallen trees shut down 20 miles of a major highway for 4 days. It sucks, but rest easy with the knowledge it's all temporary.
  24. For the most part, no. I say that because "yes" they can and will go below the thermocline for short excursions, but they can't stay there long due to lack of oxygen. For this reason, the forage won't be below the thermocline, so there's little incentive for bass to go there....even if the thermocline is "shallow". Here's a video I recently did that talks about catching fish when a thermocline exists:
