Here is what we did last year. We got permission on one pond , privately owned to do so. I was told that tires can have all kinds of pollutants that can leak into the water. We got a few pallets(Plain and untreated wood), some chritmas trees and tied them to some cinder blocks with twine. We scooted it out on the ice and when the ice melted;Instant hot spot! The only thing that hot spot produced was a resting place for 2 Bomber 8a's and a few ***. It has attracted a lot of bluegills, we will have to see how it pays off this year. :-/

Hey Fellas: I was thinking about something that Catt said: the bass do not get conditioned to worms, that really seems to be true. I was wondering if all the sucess with swim baits is because the bigger bass have been eating bigger fish and they never had hooks in them before T Last season most of the folks on Mauch Chunk that I know were wacky rigging Senko type baits, their effectiveness declined. However the T rigged Senko baits and jigs was slaying them. I noticed this when me and Speedbead went out mid season. It held true for the rest of the season. Wake baits on top ( Jitter Bugs) seem to be as old as Long Mike and they always work also, swimbaits just seem like thier bigger brothers, I see them in my boat in the future. Just think how many times you were reeling in a fouled crankbait or Rapala type bait and it is waking across the top and you get a hit.

Hey John: I have been living here for 15 years this Thanksgiving and it never got cold and stayed cold so early! Freeland, less than 5 miles from here got 17 inches of snow in that late Oct. storm. We have more snow on the way . The fish are already setting up for winter and I took my boat off the chunk early this year. \ We had a drought this summer and fall, and the lake was very shallow and it was too hard to drag the tinny in.I havebeen going out with a couple of friends that have em on trailers. Tusacrora is cold and deep all year long, had a very thin layer of ice on the shallow end last weekend after 2 X 25 degree nights!
