  2. That trade helped both teams and Rameriz. He is hitting a ton , the Dodgers are in First and Boston has been playing , help me out here Hookem , about .600 ball sincer he left? Burley: Congrats to you all all the Cub's faithful. your year has arrived 8-) By Sept. 26>. Phillies clinch first in NL east and the Brew Crew overtakes the Mets in the Wild Card Race. Shoenweis and Martyinez and Heilman should get the boot on closing day, maybe sooner
  3. Hey Mook: If you want your next cigarette call someone before you smoke it, make sure the person in a non smoker, so he can tell you how not to smoke. I have had a hanerking to stop , when I do it's gonna be cold turkey. Truth is I am not ready or willing to give them up yet :-/
  4. Rumor has it that RW has a Flooger some where in his house also :
  5. I felt the same way until 2 years ago, I was soley a spinning guy. When I started moving away from the shore to deeper water, the line twist was really getting to me, which i had learned to get around while fishing shallow water. The more I used bait casting, while I was casting a little less distance I found my self becoming more accurate with a baitcaster . I also was able to fell the bottom better and have better control over certain lures. I now only rarely use the one spinning outfit i have in the boat, I mostly use it pond hopping and fishing rivers from the shore
  6. I am glad I am not tied to one type of bait or company, it would limit the possibilites too much. As much as I love plastics there have been days that were A ONE because of Rapalas or Cranks and nights with Jitterbugs and Colorodo Bladed Spinner baits that would have been Zipped had I stayed with Trick Sticks or Worms.
  7. Hey JF I am no where near the fisherman Catt is, if anything he is one of my most reliable teachers. A lot of times when he puts something up, it is worth researching, thats all I did
  8. Hey Rooster, I tried the shot with the tabs and those teeth are the reason I stayed away from them I use the old fshioned round ones, the bb type. If you take your time when pinching them you will put minimal stress on the line. I may have been crimping the tabbed ones wrong but i am happy using the lod fashioned split shot and never had a breakoff at the shot. PS when fishing weeds the round shot does not pick up the snot weed as bad as those tabs do
  9. Cabelas currently is running the Pflueger President , normally sells for 140 is selling at 109. You asked for 150, so thats why I out up the President, I like the Trions at 100 nd that will leave you some change
  10. I use a split shot rig. I never had line break at the split shot. A long time ago I was taught to crimp them using a needle nose pliers and to take time to do it right, so the line sits in the groove and the shot crimps around it. That was some good advice and has serve me well
  11. Congrats! No matter where you finish the point is you Started and you will remember this one as well as the first one you win!
  12. Keep Fishing, sooner or later it will turn on!!!!!!!! You may want to fish different spots, it is probablly a location issue
  13. I do better when there is no full moon and a slight chop on the water.
  14. I use 3 plastic worms ; *** Ripple tail,Mann's Jelly Worms and Zoom Trick Worms, all have different profiles and different tails. The best advice I get is from the Bass on the day I am fishing, they will tell you what they want.
  15. Interesting question; What came first the Carolina or the Texas Rig?
  16. Hey JF, CATT is 100% correct about the history of the t-rig( Texas Rig) It seems that Creme, the first plastic worm on the market(1949) was originally opened in Akron Ohio, then moved their operation to Tyler Texas, since Southern Bass Fishermen, particularly in Texas were using thier worms in the new Impoundments. Creme was the first to mention a style of weedless hooking for these plastic worms in the early 60's. THATS 40 Years ago. The first documentation of these were straight /long shanked hooks, with the barbs reversed and buried int othe body of the worms and THEY HAD NO BULLET WEIGHTS. other than a small old style bb crimped split shot The Bullet weights ( pegged and loose) and EWG hooks would come much later. The original texas rigs, were not a with bullet weights presentatation. Catt nailed this one, thats because he is older than Misssissippi Mud ;D
  17. ......and this poor guy is stuck on this team :-/ From the AP wire ,yesterday KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki matched Willie Keeler's major league record of eight straight 200-hit seasons Wednesday night, beating out on infield single in the eighth inning for his third hit against Kansas City.
  18. If it was not for Sanyana they would b planning the closing ceremony for Shea already! Cubs are showing championship attitude and strength right now
  19. WOW Thanks for the responses 8-)
  20. That expalins how my rods and reels keep winging up on the bottom of the lake I use Barqs Root Beer ;D
  21. GHOTI"S idea of balancing a rod and reel goes something like this Right hand: Said rod and Reel Left Hand ; Stein of Beer If they feel about the same wieght...It's Balanced
  22. They do the same thing to Mauch Chunk Lake. When the water freezes it protects the dam from having too much pressure against it. It also allows for the snow and water accumulation during ice in. They usually bring it down around 6 ft, however I believe because of a local drought it is about 4 to 5 feet down now The creek bed: Jig head with a trailer I use iether a 3.5 inch brush bug or an *** Beaver Craw, slow
  23. Geez Wayne: I have a 14 ft tin boat, if I put that many rods in there would be no room for me ;D
  24. Great question! Early Fall; Water temps in Low 60's and Upper 50's , Jigs on submerged rocks and shallow cranks to get over the dying grass and weed beds Mid Fall: I associate this with the upper layer of water in the 5 lower 50's TURNOVER STARTS, the fish are literally all over the place, your guess is as good as mine. I find one here and one there. In mid day, over submerged roks seems the best here Late Fall; 15 ft and better and slow is the game after Mid Oct I am done for the year it is too cold after that. I don't fish through the hard water.
  25. Hey Holeshot: What is your prefered spinnerbait in that situation?
