  1. Hey, you can not learn without asking questions. This is a highly charged issue here and other bass forums. On one you can't even mention anything but C and R, or you can be bounced. No harm and no foul on your part 8-)
  2. Just a heads up, I do not use braid, but they slice right through it.
  3. Good for you! I am leaving this alone, it is getting to messy. The next time I keep a legal fish, with my license properly displayed I don't care what you or anyone else thinks Have A good evening
  4. What I said was, I buy a licence for me to enjoy the sport the way I see fit, the only thing I owe to other's is to obey the laws, that come with that license. What you spend is your business not mine, I do not have any opinion on that, nor did i express one. Going a bit far is calling a fella a jackass , who may have been fishing legally, in this country one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Do you think everyone who keeps a fish, does not have a licence to do so?
  5. I am in the LAZY CLUB with you TY ;D
  6. No one loves this sport as much as my fishing partner and I. He regularly keeps fish for his table, I do not. We spend over a 100 days chasing LMB and SMB, although this year illness has curtailed this a bit. People who keep legal fish are far from Jack *****. I do not keep any fish, and if I did, I would be in my right. I fish legally for my enjoyment not yours, I do respect all game laws, and that is all I owe my fellow sportsmen. We have a fishery in North East PA, that is suffering now, because they can not convince people to take bass out, and that is the result of over zealous catch and release. Many years ago when this awareness started I understood this, now some bodies of water are suffering because of it But to call a guy fishing legally a jackass for doing what his licence entitles him to do is going a bit far PS My grand total of kept fish in the last 12 years has been 3, all gut hooked and eaten
  7. There are several good ways to cook bass and they taste great. If that man had a licence and it was of legal size, it is his right to do so, and only his business.
  8. The pond in the Bear Cage at the Zoo! Zero Pressure on that baby
  9. I have 3 role models, My Father, My Uncle Anthony and a good friend of mine When I was a young, and upcoming drummer, I did look to established drummers as to how they acted, dressed on gigs and most important how they played. It was a good way to learn some things to do and not to do. Advertisement and hype create this other notion of role model, I never once bought into it. Understand that pro athletes and musicians should adhere to a standard of professionalism and it is good for a youngster to see these things, his parents and relatives should remain his role models however
  10. Thank you much!!!!!!!!! I will be going out tommorow to battle my usual 3lbrs, it keeps me smiling! 8-)
  11. Okay, so as the Florida Strain, breeds with the Northern Strain, the resultant fry, can not grow as large as the pure Florida Strains.right? So if both strains are in the same body of water, how can they be inhibited from cross breeding? Why put both in the same body of water in the first place?
  12. Thats what I am trying to find out, I searched fopr the old threads, cant find it. I think it was WBR, who pointed out that the Northern Strains were growing bigger, I am not sure about this, so I am waiting for one of the Cali guys to answer
  13. There was discussion, earlier this spring that a Northern Strain would probably break the record, transplanted to Cali, rather than the Florida strain. Since I do not fish for giant bass, I am asking this question here to see if there is a change in that theory. Since WBR , Mattlures ,Fish Chris and Paul, all big bass hunters answer the threads like this I figured it would be the right place to ask a question. I can't make a point as I am not knowledgeable about this, that's why I asked a question. I have been following these threads, since Fish Chris first caught my interest.
  14. There was talk that this Bass is a Florida Strain bass, transported to Japan. I guess that throws the theory out the window that Florida and or Texas can't produce a record.
  15. It's the other way around for me, I use mono, wait to feel the full weight of the fish, and make sure the hooks are set. No stretch = a lot of ripped out trebles
  16. Russ: 120 lbs, if he has a brick in each pocket ;D Fish: Aound 4 lbs
  17. Of the rods you listed, I can tell you the Fenwick GT served me well
  18. They are still in production, that was wrong. I found, as far as hooks go, the Owners that I bought were a heavier mil, and they did effect the speed at which I got that blub, blub action, which is highly successful for me, so I went to VMC's. I have always placed the same size hook, on any bait that I switch out, so I can not say how much of a difference this would make.
  19. You to Head Mook and to all! I will post pics of Finished deck and pool area, what a job!
  20. Jitterbugs are my primary nighttime topwater bait, I can tell you from experience that Owner switch outs, are a little bit too heavy and are detrimental to the action of Jitterbugs, for me. Keeping it moving will greatly out fish stop and go. Get that steady Blurb-blurb noise going and you are in Like Flynn. You can also bend the lips, this can help with getting that blurb sound more pronounced.
  21. Thanks for clearing up the accuracy, I did not know all the details, it was starting to get repulsive to me at the time.
  22. Ad split rings and change out the hooks for a decent grade hook, everyone has their favorites, I like VMC's for this also: If you miss a Jitterbug bite, keep a rod handy with a Weightless ,T rigged worm on it ( dark Color) and threw it a little past where you missed the Jitterbug Bite, make sure your heart can stand it
  23. Muddy replied to Palomar's topic in Everything Else
