  1. I gotcha Keith. Let me explain what I was trying to say Cabelas : to get a reel serviced is nearly impossible, I understand this. BPS , on the other hand, seems not too anxious to have whatever factory they deal with give outside reel services access to the parts needed to service their products. They seem to want to cull all this work into their own service center, and being a nation wide and internet retailer they seem to be able to do it. So while whatever factory they are using BPS has pulled the reigns in , it would seem and the factory only " supports" the BPS service center.
  2. North Philly has the single worst crack and heroin problem I have ever seen. Since the hey days of the Heroin trade in Bushwick Brooklyn and Harlem>>>They desperation and hopelessness in bone chilling. On top of this issue they have very organized street gangs, and this is usually wrapped around the drug trade. It is a very dangerous situation
  3. Oh Really! I found BASPRO eager and able to repair and service their reels, at a very fair price and with rapid turn around. Cabelas reels have very few who will service them, this is true, but Cabelas is almost always willing on exchanges if your complaint is reasonable BPS has been especially good at both service and sticking by their reels, This observation comes from dealing with them personally as well as others who are friends of mine BTW: our concerns have mostly been about cleaning and repair, these reels last under use
  4. HEY RW: Probably they tally all felonies. Then Misdemeanors and then Quality of Life Complaints I don't know if this study also figured in Unemployment rate, Basic hourly wage, families under or at the poverty level, Human Service Availability, property value and mortgage foreclosure rates. All, some or most of these things can be looked at in these kinds of studies. Their information is frequently to red line an area for banks to turn down mortgages or charge a higher rate on them based on risk
  5. The FBI has recommended that Detroit and New Orleans be removed from statistical analysis , because of their rapidly diminishing populations. The report cited was put together for real estate appraisal and for corporations to see where to locate. This report was attacked by both local and federal law enforcement before it came out The people who still live in Detroit, because of a highly decimated tax base and smaller police force are in fact suffering some of the worse crime, citizen to citizen in the country. I ain't a stats guy myself, as they can be manipulated A lot of you fellas know I work with prisoners on a voluntary basis and for what it's worth I have been to a lot of hard places and dealt with a lot of hard fellas. Detroit and North Philly are the only 2 places I fear and the most hardened and desperate cons I have worked with in recent times come from both of these locations I am sure many citizens in New Orleans are suffering the same way. There was a time when I would walk the streets of Bedford Stuyvesant, and I was cautious, but having visited North Philly ( aka the badlands) I found myself truly frightened for the first time
  6. Could that be a Criscraft?
  7. 5 bucks that gets removed by Irene or covered up
  8. Speaking of those man parts; From the AP today: Lorina Bobbit's sister got in the act now. Seems in a drunken rage she tried to do a bit of her own involuntary surgery. Fortunately she missed and plunged the knife into her boyfriend's leg instead of the family jewels, saving her a felony arrest; She was arrested and booked on a lesser charge of MISSED THE WEINER instead
  9. 2o dollars says their is a strong possibility that the Big Bass Hunters used National Geographic and another Bass to get the pressure off her to be able to get and keep the record for themselves :
  10. Swept handles and the hood assembley strongly would suggest Diawa, who make 4 of thier reels now.
  11. I love , right before a pop up Tstorm, if it's safe you can catch some really large/agressive fish right before it rolls in on over you! I keep a towel in a zip loc bag to keep the boat seat dry. Nothing worse than trying to fish all day with a nasty case of JUICY A##!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
  12. Thanks Matt that answers a lot
  13. Hey Matt: I was doing some reading and from the list of certified top 25 bass taken ( there seems to be 2 of them) from those fish actually on the list; Am I thinking right here If you are hunting the biggest of the bass ( not just dd's) are you hunting specific solitary fish, on known beds and haunts or would you be fishing schools of bait fish. I am trying to figure out where and how the biggest certified fish were taken I read some of Longs and Chris stuff here and around and the guys looking for the biggest fish seem to know their targets and they are solitary fish Thanks Dominick ps Mind you I have no experience fishing for DD fish at all. Except for Stripres and Blue Fish in the Ocean around Brooklyn
  14. From Hazleton here, welcome
  15. I will post today's trip latter. I was thinking sometimes I throw DT's with no rattles and I hook up better than someone I am fishing with using rattles THROW THIS WHOLE IDEA OUT: Today's trip 4 nice fish 2 on a Mann's minus-1 Baby Bass Color and 2 on a OLD Original Big O in Bluegill Big O; no rattles and Mann's Rattles Both caught decent fish!

  19. We do it all the time up here. Just a small peice of ply wood on the floor, without ecking out the whole boat, works like a charm! 8-)
  20. Hey Hammer 23: I see you are from OPRANGE TX, which is co incidence because Greenwood Lake is in ORANGE COUNTY NY and NJ
  21. Thanks to all, I have a little bit of figuring to do, not as easy as I would first think, The weight transfer issue never occurred to me. Don's bit of wisdom: buy em that way is making huge sense now
  22. That was personal. That equipment comes from many. many folks right here also they help us make it happen
  23. Always gut the fish and wash out the body cavity before you fillet it.
  24. Lay the fish side ways , after you gut it Take your fillet knife and cut the fish just behind the gills ( the side away from the head) Stop when you feel the backbone Slide knife sideways facing the tail and glide the knife over the back bone to the tail. Slice the tail down to the cut from the outside Turn the fish over and slide your knife between the flesh on the inside and the skin Do the same on the other side of the fish making both cuts to clear a clean fillet Now feel across your fillets and you will find a few bones here and there, yank them out with a needle nose pliers That Simple!1 It takes practice and this way you never have to scale or skin them
