  1. Nice Bass Wayne! 8-)
  2. Hey Fellas: WE DID NOT HAVE THE #$#@!* CAMERA!!!!!!!!! Anyways, RobbyZ5001 rode up on us just as I was reeling in a borderline dink , fell to a 5 inch ***. It was good seeing ya Rob and your friends! Sad news about ol Officer MORANO We were catching a load of dinks on a variety of baits, real hit and miss fishing. Bruce noticed one area on the rocks that had a lot of activity, he went to a split shot type rig with a 3 1/2 inch *** Brush Bug on and he started catching larger fish. The next 2 hours ( I switched up to what he was using) was some Spring Time Chunk BLISS!!!!!!!! Going out again tomorrow. 8-)
  3. Gee a Newbee quiz on a site notorious for knowledgeable people. Sine I am the forum idiot I will answer this: It is a rating system for graphite rods, based on graphite content using a modular model. It is not a set number but based on graphite content in a density range Problem No industry standard, so you still have to try company to company as an IM 7 rod say from one company might feel and weigh totally different from another I hope I passed the test, I hate summer school :-/ I sense the sarcasm and point taken. You are right, there's no industry standard. I can buy IM8 from Hexcel and then call it HM70 or whatever. The original IM ratings designated the tensile strength of a particular carbon material. Take a look at Hexcel.com and you can find the charts. Also the rod doesn't have to be completely that material for me to call it that. So a quick answer JB... there's no consistency among different brands in IM8. I'd say put your hands on it and feel it. No substitute for that. Also - Only you can make a rod cast accurately. Welconme aboard YOU BEEN MOOKED

Nay, I have a few relatives who are really into horse racing . This was a link sent to me from my cousin Salvatore, to help me out. If I knew so much about horse racing I would not be working :
  6. Intrigue???, come on you know better than that. This is 100% marketing ploys.Keeps the aura around the Loomis product and the rod builders and blank sellers keep the prices high this way.Intrigue is the last thing that would come to my mind, first thing would be HYPE, the new line
  7. I am relatively new to doing this, I mainly switched out trebels on Jitterbugs, bbut I would guess the procedure is much the same First off you want to get a Split Ring Pliers that open up the split rings, I am feeling you there ! Then I never unscrew the hook hangers, I cut off the old hooks with a good pair of cutters. I replace with same size or go up one and put the new trebles onto a split ring and onto the lure. This is what I do and I am sure many more will give you suggestions we both can use The only cranks i switched out on were DT Sure Sets, I hate those hooks they catch onto everything!
  8. Irene put those ribs down at RW's house and lock this sucka!! GO TO FAQ's and look for Senko threads, there are many : On the short cut side. Go to all our sponsors and click on ***, they are both members and sponsors and their baits are better than Yamamotos and cheaper. They will treat you just fine!
  9. Quote: Tips For Heavy Logs Never try to pick them up by yourself!!!!!!!! :
  10. I have a 4600C, first year I am using it have it on my frog rod to get em out of the weeds
  11. Hey Jelly; If you wnanna have some BC fun you should try fishing RedFish and Spotted Trout in salt water and then see if it's all that clear
  12. On the suggestion of my fishing parter Bruce and .ghotti. I made the switch over to Trilene Xl and I am more than pleased.
  13. What brand of reel, they have different systems. Magnetic, centrifugal and hybrids( cross between the 2) and I am probably missing some The question might contain the weight of the baits you want to throw, as both brakes and spool tension knob adjustments will affect your cast
  14. In retrospect , while I have broken some Rapalas I have never brioken any Norman DD22's or Bomber 8A's so maybe it is iherent to Balsa Baits and not plastic. Problem with plastics I am going to learn how to get those freaking bearings out, I dislike rattles
  15. I really am amazed. I know of at leat 6 or 7 fellas I fish regularly with and I would say ( after some phone calls to make sure) that collectively we havent broken 15 between us in the last several years.
  16. I am really curious, obviously this is happening! The fellas breaking the baits: Are you using Braid? We all crank with Mono, I am wondering if this has the potential of causing all these breakages, and input please?
  17. I aint feeling the Asaaro, and I dont think it's long for the lineup. I use Pflueger Trions and the Presidents are at 129.00. I have no experience with the other reels you mentioned.
  18. In addition they have extra dispensable income, so they are in possession of such items as sleeping bags, pillows, TV's, radios, GPS, and cell phones. They get up late and go to bed early. I stand corrected
  19. What planet on you on? I have caught a few 25 # plus blue fish and some very healthy stripped bass off Breezy Point, Queens NYC , using spinning gear FROM THE JETTY, Rocks , no boat and have done it since my teen years. I have caught Northern Pike in the Adirondacks with spinning gear, in the weeds and wading! I use Bait Casting primarily now, and you can do it all except hanging chunks of bunker over the side and trolling for said blue fish and stripped bass in a chum troll. For that conventional levelwind Penns is the ticket
  20. Way to hang in there, very good young man1 8-)
  21. Bass fishing has gone from a sport to biug business I am no friend of big business. If I keep one bass over 10lbs in over 40 years of fishing and ruin bass fishing, that better be one hellva fish, geez!!!!!
  22. I have never used a Mojo, so I cant say anything about this rod. I have used more than one HMG, it is a wonderful rod.

Amen to that Catt! I still enjoy watching a good race without wagering.
  24. The real issue is here; The big bass guys from California are the ones out for the brag, so they want the rest of us to join in their party. If I catch any fish over 10 lbs in my life, it's going on my wall, a real not replica mount. I have felt thisway for 30 years, I dont hunt big bass it would be a huge mistake if I ever caught one There are folks on this board, from Cali, claiming bass that would be in the top 25, and are on no lists, but they have a pic with them holding a replica nd we are asked to take their word for it.so bragging and replica posts seem big among most of the hunters. I do not fish for them I fish for me. I obey all game laws and alaways have current licences in 3 states, so to everyone else MYOB!!!!!!!!! Your interest in this would be you sell a lot of high priced lures to these fellas and your business sucess depends on it.
  25. Smacking any balsa bait onto the water is asking for trouble. I have broken Poes,Fat Raps,BPS Bayou something of others, a Klure and I finally learned my lesson Pictures could show the result of a lot of mistreatment, so I do not go by these I have seen threads like this enough to make me wonder My experience with them is : I fish with 2 fellas almost daily and several others many times a year We all use the DT's since they came out, we all fish them hard and I have seen but one or 2 break, always thorugh getting slapped in the water.
