Since Veeck moved the fences back when the opposing team was up, and then he hired a midget to draw walks, yes cheating has been in baseball.NON OF IT HAS AFFECTED GAME ONE IOTA AS STEROIDS,.I say this because both the commissioners office and the union, knew it was going on wholesale and at the same time they stacked new rules in favor of offense and Team Values and Salaries skyrocketed during this mess. That is not coincidence! 2.With hunt: The union did their own testing, results of which were supposed to have been kept secret. They expected a handful of positives, what they got was 103!!!!!!! and not all players were tested That's proof not a witch hunt. 3.Knicked balls,vaseline and bat manipulation has not changed the game one tenth of what this era has done, not even close. HR Production and Slugging percentage have increased more in the last 10 years ( percentage wise) than during the whole history of the game. Inside pitching is not legal now, Stolen bases are at an all time low, and baseball players look life linebackers now, it has ruined the game it is a disgrace.

I don't know how much difference it would make if they do. Consider that they hit pieces of wood and plastics with treble hooks hanging all over them, I really don't think it makes that much difference. I tried braid, but decided to stick with mono.

I never considered it that way. I don't knock any one and how they spend money or what equipment they use, as that's not my business anyway.I just found for me personally when I found things I liked and worked for me, and got out of the upgrade mode, I started to do better. What it amounted to was I needed to learn a whole lot more about bass fishing at this time and spend less time worrying about equipment. I guess that may or may not come later on but at this point I need to be paying a whole lot more attention to the fish.

Not me! I have made purchases of stuff I regret, and once I had them I wondered why I got them inm the first place. Pete Rose broke a rule, HE DID HOWEVER BET ON HIS OWN TEAM and because Selig wants to preserve the sanctity of the game he has banned him for life. This guy should have a whole floor named after him in the hall. I guess steroid induced offense, which makes for good TV and action is not something that will hurt the SANCTITY OF THE GAME Until they take all these records away from these &^@#!#*! and Fehr and Selig are gone I am done with MLB :'(

They need to keep pro scouts and boosters away from their programs, these 2 groups of folks are the cause of most violations in these areas /

I agree with you wholeheartedly Matt about MLB, but the powers to be in the NFL, have suppressed dislosure of steroid use as well. The reason for all the untimely, as you put it death from the 70's were the very high doses taken in those days. NFL will eventually face the music, everybody gets a chance. The NFL/College football insult every fans intellegence with claims they are clean. Most High School baseball programs are clean , I am talking big time sports here.
