Expensive Mistakes
When I called him and informed him that I just shipped his camera he was totally astounded. Your a class act George. In terms of having ever done that?............Yup. Fortunately it wasn't anything too expensive. I was living in NY at the time and in the spring it's chilly in the morning but then warms up later in the day. I took off my woorich vest (old) that had a little plano utility box filled with smally baits. I realized it after only an hour but that's all it took. Most of my other stories like this center around loosing gear overboard or the classic step on it, close the truck door on it variety of expensive mistake. (Loomis and St. Croix. $50.00 replacement, no questions asked)

Will Loomis?
I think this pretty much says it all. They make a great rod, loved by millions. So why change? There is something to be said for a "company philosophy" that is consistent throughout their designs. It makes it easy for repeat customers to assume the feel and action of the rod without having to buy it first or try one out before purchasing. Of course if sales drop......well then all bets are off.

GY kreature bait
I used it for awhile but found that the regular senko worked better for me. Another factor is that my local wal-mart stocks senko's, but no other GYCB products.

Rage Tail 10" Anaconda
Lift and drop with extended pauses Hmmmmm. by the looks of it one would think of it as more a swimming type worm. Have you tried a bullet sinker and a steady retrieve with it?

narrow canal bassin
The unweighted senko t-rigged is a standard. Very weedless yet deadly. A swimming worm, also rigged weedless (texas) with a light weight. I prefer the swim senko. Horny toad type baits, need a bigger hook but is also rigged texas style. Buzz it alongside, above and through the weeds. A ribbon tailed worm, like a culprit with a little weight (we often use screw in sinkers down here). Then the sluggo or fluke t-rigged. I too fish in weedy Florida conditions and these baits produce well for me.

Jiggin for bass
Then just to experement i tried these jigs. If you could be more specific about just what jig you are using. The answers are geared toward the typical rubber skirted w/brushguard jig that is a classic bass bait. but from your post it could be a non skirted ball type jig. I don't mean to sound picky but in time you will come to realize that there are dozens of jig designs out there. Alot of the guys here often fish with jigs. The advice will almost certainly be different depending on the particular jig you are using, and the conditions you fish. Have you heard about the bait monkey? Stick around, if you are truly addicted then he and you will become goooooooooooooooooood friends.

Dean Rojas SPRO frog, and jr. spro frog?
According to Tackle Warehouse the Frog 65 is 2.5" and the Frog Jr. 60 is 2.4". Seems odd don't it? Most "smaller" size baits of the same design have more than a .1" difference. Is it narrower also? I suppose they know what they are doing, but it still seems strange to me. I mean how many bass are going to pass up on one bait but not another because of a 1/10" difference in size?

Introduction: I went fishing and caught a deer...
I checked with my good friend who is an actuary ( :-B ), and he said that I was more likely to get hit by lightning three times than have a deer fall from the sky and kill me. Now that's funny. Gotta love statistics. Welcome aboard.

Oil Prices Plunge!
there is nothing intricitly "valuable" about oil. Nonesense. Name me one thing that is more valuable? Gold? diamonds? titanium? maybe they cost more, but try heating your home, powering your factories, or transporting your goods from the farm to the store without it. Whatever the cost of oil is, or will become, it will be paid. There is simply no other choice. At least for now. Oil burns in a controlled manner, hence it's value to the internal combustion engine. It can be refined into plastic, the material out of which every thing is made. It is the basis for a host of valuable chemicals. Food and water aside, if there is something more "intrinsically" valuable than oil, I like to hear about it.

Oil Prices Plunge!
I hate to say this but oil dropping below say....$100.00 a barrel would actually be bad news. Yup. I said it. Here's why. the higher prices has made it profitable for oil companies to drill deeper, both on land and in the sea. This will increase supply. but and more importantly in my opinion is that the higher prices have made alternative energies much more attractive. If there is one thing we all can agree on is that the US needs to be energy independent. To do this we need investment in alternative fuels. This includes, ethanol, wind, solar, and nuclear, not to mention cleaner burning coal. Oil prices are volatile and fluctuating. History teaches us that when gas prices go down we abandon serious attempts at energy independence and go back to our gas guzzling ways, thereby setting the stage for the next crisis. Let's not get fooled again. It's time to get serious about energy independence.

Best Spinning Reel
If the question is "what is the best" I think you have to look way up higher on the price scale. Fish a Steez, which I own, or a stella like RW, and there is simply no way an educated hand will not feel the smoothness. No loose fittings, no extra play, no vibration etc. These are subtle characteristics that separate the "best" If the quesiton is "best bang for the buck" I still have not found a better value than the shimano symetre. Outstanding reel for the $$

Question on Yamomoto grubs
I have caught a lot of bass with the hula grub. It is my "go to" jig trailer for very light jigs. I also use it with good results t-rigging with a screw in sinker. There have been days when this bait was an absolute killer.

How to fish a lizard
I agree that a lizard is pretty much a plastic worm, and so can be fished anyway a worm can. It was the standard Carolina rig bait for years. Still probably used more for that presentation than any other. The rigging pics posted above are excellent.

Ban on Soft Plastic Baits
Or we could fix the problem and keep fishing? I think this world is filled with enough smart ***'s as it is. Tone it down because if your not part of the solution, your part of the problem. Ever notice whenever there is something that some people enjoy, someone will always point out that it's a problem and want to ban it? As for toning it down? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Where have I heard that before?

snaps
Berkley #3 crosslock. Using them for several years. No failures so far.

Topwater lovers checkin
My number one bait for big fish is the live sammy 120. A super spook jr, gets me more fish, but all of the fish I catch on the live sammy are quality. Oh, I rarely fish at night, but when I do I find that buzzbaits and jitterbugs are tops.

letting senkos sit in the sun
Senko's are always a hot topic. Seems like everybody uses them or a knockoff of them. I know Catt...I KNOW!!! A senko is the bait I always give to a first time basser I take out. I deliberately do not tell them how to rig it. I just say "put it on the hook" Guess what? No matter how they rig it, no matter how they work it they always catch fish. Not alot of baits can make that claim.
-
First time Senko user
There is probably no wrong way to rig a senko. Having the hook exposed is no problem if the area is free of weeds. The key thing I always try to do is to have the senko rigged so that it is as close to perfectly straight as possible. Play with it a little, but when you hold the line just above the top of the hook eye, the bait should be pretty close to a straight line. that is how I do it for my best success.
