STX or Energy PT or Curado
Well, after another weekend of testing I have some more thoughts on these 2 reels. 1st the day was perfect, 65 sunny with a very slight wind. Went to my favorite local pond and started out with the STX. Tied on a Cavitron made some adjustments mad a cast and bam a nice 2.5lbs bass to start out the day. Threw the STX a few more times throughout the day with some jerk baits, jigs and some other top water lures. Very pleased with the performance of the reel today. 2nd, threw the Curado the last half of the day, pretty much used the same lures, Cavitron, jigs and some other top water lures. The one thing I did notice was that adjusting the spool tension knob on the Curado is a little easier and I never had to adjust the brakes at all. Did have to tinker a little more with the cast control knob and brakes on the STX(could be a learning curve). But as of know both reels are still in my arsenal and both are still excellent reels. Going again this weekend. Suppose to be very nice again, but it looks like it could be a little windy. Later,

Bass Pro Shop Nitro Rod
I held one at BPS, with the nitro reel during the Classic and it is a tad on the heavy side. But the sales person at the store said it is a brute for getting fish out of heavy cover. Later,

new reel for an avid 7' m fast action???
I would look for a NIB 50MG on ebay or consider the Curado 200E7. Either one of those would be an excellent choice. An STX would not be a bad choice either. But there is a like new Garcia Premiere for sale in the flea market for a really good price. Too bad it is right handed. Later,

Flipping Reels
I use a CuradoE7, but I also have a Revo STX that I am going to try this application with this year as well. Love the drag of the Revo, but also love the HEG in the Curado. Both are excellent choices. Later,

What Is A Good Baitcaster For Throwing Crankbaits?
Definitely think 5.0:1 and Shimano. Curado 200E5 or 201E5(if you like the handle on the correct side)!lol Later,

Yo-Zuri Fluorocarbon H2O Invisible Green Line
I haven't tried it yet. I do have a spool of it, just haven't found the need to re spool anything lately. I am looking for a new reel and will probably give it a try. If its as good as their Hybrid though it should be pretty darn good, no GREAT! Later,

Dunno why I thought of this
I personally wouldn't buy a cheaper reel then upgrade the bearings. I would rather buy a higher end reel and then replace the bearings with even better bearings for an even better performing reel. I am also going to have Reel Mechanic replace the bearings in my reels with ceramics. Later,

Quick Question: Curado E7 or MG?
My 51MG has its own bed and I am building a room onto the house just for it.lol Seriously though the reel is just awesome and the fact that it is only 6oz doesn't hurt either. Later,

Yo-Zuri Hybrid question
I use green in the Hybrid and the Ultra Soft. Have some clear but have never tried it and have not seen any of the smoke color at our local BPS. Later,

what is the best line?
Really, I have not had any knot failures when using a leader with braid. I use Power Pro braid with fluorocarbon leader and use the double uni knot. What are you using for the leader? Later,

Quick Question: Curado E7 or MG?
I would go with the Curado just for the fact it has the HEG. But don't get me wrong, I have both reels and love both reels. As uicdent11 stated the 51MG excels at light baits, heck it excels at everything, but then so does the Curado. Later,

A little help picking a good all around reel
Flip a coin. Both reels are excellent. Both do things equally well and will last you a very long time with just the normal routine maintenance. The Revo has a killer drag system but I am not fond of the magnetic brakes. I really like the Curados centrifugal brakes and the drag is very adequate. I like the handle and the knobs a little better on the Curado and it is tad bit lighter. I would say go to the local tackle store hold both of them, try both of them on the rod you are planning on getting and see which one you like the feel of better. Later,
