it happened in Boston but honestly I could see the our Basketball team in Charlotte doing something like that. It is funny though, you'd think someone somewhere along the line would have thought that maybe that would not be a good idea. I am pretty sure it would even be illegal in some states, lol.

lol had to go through this whole thread to make sure none of you were talking about me. Have had pretty good neighbors except for the folks behind me. City just bought the house next to me for some sort of Habitat for Humanity wanna be program. So we shall see if my luck holds up.

So a professional sports team thinks a good idea was to have a halftime lap dance contest. Did nobody at any point in time stop them when they were talking about doing this and think..."Hey fellas, this may get us in some trouble."? http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2011/01/17/people-somehow-have-a-problem-with-boston-blazers-halftime-lap-dance-contest/related/
  4. <sarcasm>Just load your clips up with whatever bullets you want and have at it </sarcasm> Really, there is no substitute for knowing the facts. Find a reputable gunsmith near you and have him look at it. You can find out what caliber it is, get the condition checked out, and KNOW whats what. burleytog, I hear ya. I have been trying to break myself of the "clip" habit for a while. Tough to fight 20+years of movies in your head though. Luckily the local range helps out. While they let us take loaded magazines in, we are not allowed any "clips" at the range unless they are filled with money, they still like those kinds.
  5. I'd love to buy this when it comes out but I would need to load it with bean bag rounds so I could fend of my wife when she saw how much it cost, lol.
  6. I thought I had seen it all. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40838857/ns/us_news-weird_news/
  7. considering where the pants are, can they really be thought of as being worn? I reckon one good thing, if he ever tried to rob me, I'd get to my gun first since he has to reach for his knees to find his.
  8. I would get a hold of whatever certification board manages them and file a complaint, I would find any and all places to formally lodge a complaint and do so. If you have a legal option I would do that as well. Seems you have already done your part to settle this amicably and been treated like crap for it.

Good form Glenn. You can't go wrong. I can also honestly say with the NC mandated course for CCW, I learned some very useful info. It was a good requirement. Just wish the course was cheaper so some of those less fortunate than myself could take it.

Nice guns! Definitely nice having the conceal carry permit. I got one in NC and it makes buying firearms extremely easy. All you got to do is put up with a background check and getting fingerprinted and in return, you get to buy firearms without a hassle.
  11. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with a Rem 700. Bad press aside, it is a long running line of rifles used by millions of people for a long, long time. Durable, reliable, and accurate.
  12. Thanks guys. It is bittersweet for me. I am going to miss him. Every time I step on the boat, or cast into a stream and even more so with how much he visited my home and the time he spent with our kids. The endless hours of stories of his youth and my father and aunts and uncles growing up. I have been truly blessed to have him. For him though there is no downside, I know when he opens his eyes after this life, he will be reunited with my grandmother who passed 10+ years ago and my Aunt who left us 2 years ago. He will be so overjoyed, it is hard to imagine. And I know I will meet him again, it is hopefully going to be a long time from now but I will see him again.
  13. 10 years ago I moved to NC and got back into fishing. I hit Linville river, Wilson creek, and numerous other streams when the trout bug bit. I fished the banks of Lake Wylie for a year until I got a jon boat and customized it, then moved on to a tracker PT 175txw. All the time, my gramps went with me. I saw him fall into Linville so many times and in so many ways I nearly soiled myself laughing. Wrestling fish onto the bank (literally) and squaring off with them cause getting them into the net would be way too easy. From sitting on the lake in my jon before it was customized getting our legs burned on the metal, to styling in the Tracker we hit about every cove that lake offers. Caught about every species on the lake and shared more good times and stories than I could fit in a book. Today he lies in a Hospice bed and after years of good times I now measure my time with him minute by minute. Stupid how we take the other times for granted but when you get out on your lake next time, and look out at the fellow with you and really take a second to enjoy the time you have. Sooner or later it will be gone and the memories are what you got left.
  14. I never liked coffee. Then I got my first job in IT and they gave away free Starbucks all day. I have evolved into good coffee now. One thing I do like, we have caribou coffee around here, they have some good blends. Really love a good Kona blend too. There is a place in downtown Columbia, SC (or used to be) call immaculate consumption that had some awesome homemade blends.
  15. I'm just going to go ahead and add that as another pro to having a tin boat, lol. In all seriousness horrendously unsafe vessel. I mean technically you can be fined for putting a TM or stool up on the bow which blocks your view while driving. This guy has absolutely no idea what is in front of him when he is submerged and he is running at high speed with a low profile. Without a spotter craft this guy would be a menace to navigation in any waterway.
  16. hmmmm. How would you catch an arsenic based fish and would it taste any good?
  17. Michelin won me over 2 tires buys back. When I got a 60k set and they went 110k before the tread wore down to where they needed replacement. I have had 2 sets do that so far. They may have cost a it more but for longevity like that, I am willing to pay.

I hear you on the reluctance to go to the doctor. I HATE it, completely hate it. That being said, you like me need to get over it. The ladies since they are teens get thrown up in stirrups and poked and prodded in by docs. Now if you have had kids (I have 4) then your lady has had to go through a set of exams that are not going to compare to what you go through. it is a medical condition like anything else, just happens to be in an embarrassing place. Good luck man!
  19. http://planetsave.com/2010/11/24/nasa-finds-our-lakes-are-warming/ Yeah I know the link is from "Planetsave" but it quotes a NASA study showing lake temps are rising nationwide. If the trend continues (ignoring any causes here), i wonder what this will mean for fishing in general over the long run. At what point do we begin to have an impact to bass fishing?
  20. Look like Keith Null, they said he may start Sunday. Next year, I bet we don't even have the rookies. I think the Panthers jumping over them to bring complete strangers onto the team says volumes about how much play time they will see. I just hope we do some serious house cleaning with management this year. It would be easier if I was not a Panthers fan. But since I am and I am not a fair weather fan it just stings to see them so darn horrible.

and Fat-g, on the half chance you are serious, I had an incident at the launch that really made me consider CCW. I was very lucky it did not get any worse than it did. It is better to have it and not need it (which is most likely what will happen the rest of my life), than need it and not have it. Does no damage to anyone in my holster on my hip. And BTW, range time is real enjoyable. My other consideration is I have 4 daughters and I need to be prepared for those 16 yr old boys out there when they are dating. <j/k>
  22. it is not so much the injuries as the stupidity. So we lost moore for the season, we lost our backup. We have 2 more QBs we paid for already. They are on our roster. They are both rookies. We are 1-8. We are not going to the playoffs. Why do we not play them? Nope, we pick up a seasoned 8 yr veteran who has never started a single game in 8 years. So rather than one of 2 rookies who have been playing this year and who at least know the team, we bring in a guy with just as many starts as they have. Now he gets hurt. So well maybe use one of our rookies now. Heck no. Let's go and hire another QB. I mean the season is completely over. Everyone knows that, why are we wasting money on some other QB? Use the 2 we have already let them cut their teeth now so next year they have some value for us.
  23. ...and I am going to suggest we officially change our team song to the Benny Hill theme song.

    how about "boom stick"?
  25. K, so the news in Charlotte now is we are signing ANOTHER frikkin' QB. Clausen is out, Moore is out, St Piere is sore. Apparently we can't play Pike or Edwards so we are going to sign ANOTHER QB. Anyone out there play FB in high school you may want to get you resume in for contention. This is like a sick twisted joke.
