I've got a 16ft Xpress with a 40lb Power Drive on the bow. It works great but I fish a lake that has a motor restriction on it and was thinking about getting a transom mount for making long trips from spot to spot. Each motor would be on their own battery, my question is how big should I go? Ideally I'd want a 55lb on the back but that's a little more than my pocket can take right now. I'm basically looking in the 30-45lb range. Anyone have any ideas of what's the smallest that could get the job done? Thanks, Dave

Hey all! Just wanted to post up some pretty cool reels that might bring back some memories for you all. Dad was going through his stuff and found a bunch of reels he wanted to get rid of and gave me the task of selling them. A few of these reels I have fond memories of and some I've never even seen before. Let me know if any of you recognize any of these oldies but goodies. Are there any of these that I should consider keeping and using? I must admit I'm an Abu round reel guy so I know there is one I'm prob keeping. Enjoy! I'll vote for the Burst. I've got several of them and I got them for a song. They are a really good reel for the money in my opinion. Graphite frame aside, two reasons I like the burst are the metal star drag and it seemed smaller and lighter. These reels are my first low pro's from converting over half of my round reel stock. They just need to last a couple years before upgrading to revos.

Iowa guy here. Cedar Rapids to be exact. Primarily fish McBride and Pleasant Creek. Hit up a few lakes this winter that I will definitely be giving a shot this open water season.

I'm going to say that it's the moment between the strike and the hook set. You feel the first tick when worm fishing and then there is a little bit of a wait(which makes your heart speed up), then BAM!

Had an echelon for the wife and with her little use the thing didn't last a year. Not sure what happened, all of the sudden things just kind of stopped working. Could have just been a bad apple but you never know. That was my first plueger and also my last. As far as the rod goes, I can't be of much help. All in all, for the price, if the combo lasts a a couple years you'll be doing good.

Capt.O - I checked out this website but the thing I'm confused about is they don't list the action on any of their rods. They have the power listed under "Action" but nothing for action. I was ready to order but kind of hard without knowing that. Any thoughts? Dave

I started using Strike King Coffee tubes last year and I was really impressed. It seemed if I worked an area with a worm and caught a few fish or didn't catch any fish, I could toss these tubes in and catch 1-2 additional fish. After having this happen on multiple outings, I stocked up! Plus they just smell good!

I've got two dedicated rods for T-rigs/jigs rods. Both are MH Fast and are 6'6". For reels I'm running Burners on both, 7:1, really helps to pick up slack line quick.

I've got 2 of these batteries as well. One is going on 7 years, used for 4 of those years as power for my TM and all electronics, now it's just for electronics. The other one is 3 years and is dedicated for my TM. No issues with either. As said above, great battery for the money.

I would say a senko in the same length weighs less than these, therefore a slower descend. Also, senkos have more fluid motion on the fall compared to the minnow. Gulp minnows seam to be more rigid from my experience. Basically meaning you will get a lot more of that back and forth action on a senko. You know, that motion that bass just can't resist!

You can rig them just about anyway you want. I used to fish them texas rigged, weighted and weightless. You can also fish them wacky style. They are an ok bait but I prefer powerbait or gulp alive over reg gulp any day.

I've been fishing 10" PW's for the last few years. To keep it real simple in regards to color, here's my take. Black, blue black, black grape = daytime, murky water Black, black grape, = nighttime, any water. green pumpkin, pumpkinseed, watermelon, = daytime, clear water. This has worked for me in my experimenting.
