  1. Looking good! That is going to make an awesome open floor plan!
  2. I don't know about this one, the kids initials would be A.D.D. That might be some sort of pre-cursor.
  3. My current fav is Teagun or Tegan. I actually hated this name when my wife first said it. I think it'd be cool to call the kid Teague or Gun. The name would be Tegan James Deutsch
  4. I think you doing a great job! I can't wait til my son is your age and I can help him restore his first boat! If you have any questions, let us know. We will be more than happy to help!
  5. You guys are cracking me up! Keep them coming. I think we have some real prospects here!
  6. My vote is for gills! I only keep fish out of cold water however, ice or early spring. However the key to keeping any fish in my opinion no matter what time of year, it to put them on ice as soon as you decided you are going to keep them. This really helps keep the fish in the best state prior to cleaning and eating them. Another thing you will find it that if you kill your catch before throwing on ice, it will also taste better. A fish stresses when it is flopping around in a cooler trying to love. Give them a good whack and on the ice they go.
  7. Well this is kind of a different post but I thought will all the talent on this site we should be able to come up with something. My wife and I are expecting number two come July and we are having a heck of a time finding boy names that we like. I should say that I'm having a hard time finding ones that I like. She finds all kinds of them but I shoot holes through most of them. We don't want to have a common name and we would kind of like it to sound good with our sons name, he is two and his name is Dawson, last name is Deutsch(pronounced - Doitch) I thought I'd see what we could come up with! So let them rip everyone! I've only 3.5 months to figure this out. Maybe if we can come up with a few we can eventually have a poll! I can see it now in the paper, "Newborn baby boy named by Bass Fishing Website!" Thanks guys! Dave
  8. I just got a pack of these. The wife picked them up and all they had was a rainbow variety pack! A lot of them are hot neon colors. I think it will add some extra flair to the baits!
  9. Hey we have the same bubble mower! That thing cuts like a dream!
  10. That was very helpful. Note to self, bring needle in the boat in case this ever happens. Knock on wood, I've never had one not swim away yet!
  11. I use the Gulp Alive Leeches, 3". And they "DO WORK!" In fact I would say I saved over $100 last year alone switching from Glup Alive leeches from the reel thing and caught just as many fish if not more. The minnows work well also but I haven't used them quite as much. Nice thing is that you never have to worry about your bait going bad!
  12. I'd be in for this if it's not too late. I wont be in need of it until Mid- Late April or later. Once you southern guys are done you can sent it up to Iowa!
  13. Could you flip the boat over and throw your rods and tackle bag in there while in route? Just a though? Good job on the cheap build!
  14. That motor looks to be in great shape and I'm sure the hull will look awesome with a little TLC. Congrats on the boat!
  15. When we fish in Ontario for Walleyes and Pike, any fish that is kept must be killed immediately. They do this to eliminate people culling fish. It has been this way for at least 10 years. We use little wooden fish wackers that my grandpa made back in the day. They are basically a wooden baseball bat, drilled out and filled with lead. One wack between the eyes is all it takes! They also sell products like these but I'm sure you could make something that would work. A 12 inch piece of 2X2 would probably do the trick!

    Welcome! This place is GREAT!

That looks awesome! Keep them coming!
  18. I've never used either but I just bought this set of reel grips mainly because I thought they would look cool on the new reel!
  19. groutsky - I fish Pleasant Creek a lot early in the year and then McBride later in the year. I only live 10 mins from PC so it' easy to just run out there. I'm hoping to be on McBride a little more this spring but it gets kind of old dodging crappie boats if you know what i mean. We'll have to get together and chase them one of these days!
  20. Welcome aboard! I'm in CR and probably fish a lot of the same water as you! I'm also hoping to start fishing the Miss this year for a change of scenery! Dave D
  21. When searching for a 7:1 reel I looked hard at this reel as well. I found mixed reviews on cabela's that ended in me purchasing something different. I went with the Quantum Burst but have yet to use it. Good luck with your search.
  22. Just a note on the Gander rods and reels. I was at Gander the other day and they told me that they have now switched the warranty on the 2009 product line to 2 years instead of lifetime. Not sure if that's true as the guy working that I talked to didn't seem all there but I will find out. Just some food for thought.
  23. What kind of pontoon is it? Any pics or links to pics of one that is similar? Congrats on the great deal!
  24. Nice looking rig! I like the original color! ;D
