  1. Here's something I do with mine, no matter what kind you get. Paint at least one of them black! This way when you aren't the only one on the lake it's a little harder for other boats to pick up the black color vs. orange or green! It works, trust me!
  2. Good vid Glenn, now I may actually have to use the spinnerbaits that I have. ;D
  3. Makes her look brand new! Way cool!
  4. http://www.tinboats.net/forum/ All the answers you will ever need! Great sites, great folks! Dave D.
  5. I bet you could make that bench seat into a rod locker. That would be my first project. I'd then deck the rest.
  6. That's pretty good Brent! Took me a few times before I put it together. Do you think it's too early for baby's first bait caster? LOL
  7. I'm jealous! And BTW, I have that same problem with my fish looking small! :'(
  8. That's great! Just have to keep taking her out and you'll have a fishing partner for a long time!
  9. That's funny! He would have been but he pee'd all over the doc as he made his exit! ;D
  10. Since so many of you helped out in the great name debate I just had to post up the newest addition! Date of Birth: June 29, 2009 @ 12:29pm Species: Son - Barrett James Deutsch Weight: 9lbs 15oz Length: 21 inches Mommy and baby are doing great! Big brother is very excited and Daddy couldn't be happier! Another fisherman and hunter joins the ranks! Dave
  11. I'd stick with the Lund as well, it can fish anywhere! Plus remember, you can't always bank on your buddy being available to go out with his boat. My .02. Dave
  12. Well all, we are less than 5 days away! Any last minute names you want to submit? We are still trying to decide and are close but would still be open to suggestions. Thanks all, Dave
  13. Dave D posted a topic in Fishing Reports
Well I've been lurking lately due to having nothing to report since I haven't been out much. I guess with all the new prep for the baby coming in less than a week I've been a little busy! Saturday was the day and boy what a great day it was. Now don't you all hate on me because there are no picture with this post. I was going out to have some fun and just fish a little before my big catch arrives on the 29th. I think I may be onto something not bringing the camera with me in the boat??? Anyway, I was at the lake early and it didn't take long to put together a pattern. In less than an hours time I had landed two IOWA piggies! 1st one was 19" 4lbs, 2nd was 19" 4lbs 5 oz. I managed 6 more largies over the next few hours with one more 18" @ 3lbs and the rest being shorties. What a day! I went back out today to try it again and landed 8 more and lost a real toad due to a bad hookset. What a great couple mornings on the water. Well, I'll have pictures soon of our newest addition. Thanks for letting me share all! Dave D
  14. My next boat is going to be a 1872 or 2072 jon. So much room! Not really any different that fishing out of a bass boat when you are fishing. Now the ride is another story! ;D
  15. I saw an add for those in BASS. You have an awesome setup on that thing. Post some more pictures if you get a chance!
  16. For that kind of money I'd be looking at aluminum! ;D
  17. I don't have experience with any of those but when I have a decision to make like this I'll usually buy a couple bags of each and test them all out. It won't take long to find your fav! Good luck!
  18. I think if you want a 72" bottom you are going to have to bump up to 18ft unless you want to have one made.
  19. Wow, that brings back some bad memories. I backed my 14ft jon in after fishing one day and the battery had tipped over and I didn't know it. I shut down the garage door and didn't go back in for over a week. When I opened the door a week later the smell was not good and I had seen what had happened. After a few choice words I hooked it up to the truck and ran off to the car wash. I spent about 30 mins power washing that little boat and watch as all my truck bed liner peeled off. What a shame. I just let her dry off, sanded it down good and repainted. Held up pretty good until the day I sold it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Good luck with the battery!
  20. When you want to cut down the dinks. From about mid summer on that's about all I use with the occasional stick bait!
  21. Nice looking rig man! What year is that motor, she looks to be in great shape!
  22. That really sucks but I'm sure glad that everyone is ok, except the deer! You'll have to post up some pics of when you get her all put back together. Sure looks like a nice ride. What model G3 is that? Dave D
  23. I started my little guy right away. 1.5. This year he was able to reel in a couple on the ice at 2 years old. I think this summer is going to be fun. It's never to early to start, just remember short increments.
  24. I've never had bass but I bet it would taste pretty good out of the cold water. I might try it sometime if I could find a lake that didn't have an 18" limit withing 100 miles of me! Some of the places I fish could use a little heard thinning if you know what I mean! ;D
  25. Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap ½ oz. Chrome/Blue Back.
