Kayaks With A Rhino/line-X Coat
The first question I would ask is, "How much weight will it add to the kayak?" I'd use the kayak for a while. If it got scuffed and dinged, then I'd consider having it coated.

Why Were You Asked To Leave?
Does that include the maggots as well?

Why Were You Asked To Leave?
Raider, you just have to get yourself banned from here. It's a blemish on your otherwise perfect record. At the very least, maybe you can persuade Glenn to impose an honorary ban on you for a couple of days. I want you to be perfect.

Why Were You Asked To Leave?
Gee, I've never been thrown out of any place. But don't blame me. It's just been the places I've been. I've led such a sheltered life. I need to hang with Raider and get some obnoxious lessons.

Oh My
On the positive side, no one got scalped. Who will be more offended by this video? PETA, or those who want the Redskins to change their name? The gift that keeps on giving.

I Don't Know What To Say
Are you sure the guy with the ladle didn't smack you aside the head with it, several times? Then again, maybe you're just putting us on.

Who Makes The Most Comfortable Bass Boat?
If it's comfort you want, check out the Bass Cat boats. They aren't the fastest. They aren't the widest. But they are smooooooooth riding. Been out with a guide on Pickwick twice who had a Bass Cat. I was impressed. It could have used more power. With three of us large guys in the boat, it was slow getting up on plane, but in a chop it was smooth as silk.

I didn't think it was ever going to end. What did any of us do for you to inflict this upon us?

Why Does Ranger Put So Many Evinrudes On Their Boats? :(
Tell the rest of the story. I seem to recall you favored the Evinrudes because you could wring considerably more horsepower out of them when you worked your magic. I think you said something to the effect that Evinrude left a lot more horsepower on the table than the other manufacturers by a considerable margin.

Gas Burned
I don't run it wide open. Most of the time I'm cruising between 35 and 45 mph. But, I don't do any tournament fishing. All of the road trips have been to different lakes, except for Pickwick which was the second time around for me last year. I didn't burn as much fuel last year because I wasn't running around as much. But I still burned considerably more than on our local fishing holes. I'd guess about 15 gallons per day on average. I pushed it up to 45 - 50 mph for the longer runs. To hop across a cove or to the next point I'd run my normal cruising speed. It would only take a minute or two, so wide open would only save me a few seconds.

2002 Ranger Battery Issue
Put a battery switch in the boat for the cranking battery, and nothing can draw from it, provided the switch is turned off when the boat is not in use.

Gas Burned
I've got a Z-8, with a 200 hp Merc. It isn't the boat's fuel consumption that is the limiting factor as much as it is the towing of the boat here and there. If I burn two to three gallons per day with the boat, that would be a lot. Most of the ponds around here are small compared to the much larger impoundments elsewhere in the country. On the Bass Resource Road Trip, I'll burn a lot more fuel simply because I do a lot more running. If I fill my boat with fuel, 65 gallons, in May, I won't need fuel again until September. Most of the places I fish are 45 minutes to an hour and a quarter away. I'll burn a hundred dollars, or more per week in my tow vehicle. I didn't see any mention of the towing expenses in your post.

This Is How To Give A Weather Report!
My maternal grandparents were immigrants from Arcadia. They settled in Fall River, MA. They did not have the same accent as their brethren who continued migrating to the south, until they reached the Gulf of Mexico.

Why Does Ranger Put So Many Evinrudes On Their Boats? :(
Why the sad face after your question? I thought you could get any motor you wanted on a Ranger.

Need Help Identifying A Fisherman
Looks like Ted Williams to me. The Splendid Splinter of the Boston Red Sox, and World War II Pilot. Not to mention, a hall of fame fisherman.

2002 Ranger Battery Issue
I had a similar problem with my first Nitro. It had nothing to do with the brand of the boat. I had a two bank battery charger which was connected to the two trolling motor batteries. No problem, I thought since the motor would keep the cranking battery charged up. The only things running off the cranking battery was a Humminbird 898. the Lowrance that came with the boat, and a small Humminbird at the bow. Never gave a second thought to the cranking battery until, one day, at the far end of the pond, the battery did not have enough power to start the motor. My problem is that around here we don't run the outboard enough to keep the battery fully charged. The ponds are small. So, over many trips, I gradually drained the cranking battery. To prevent that, I'd plug in the onboard charger, and used a small battery charger to keep the cranking battery fully charged. No more problem.

Casual Observation
Old birds are always tough. It's how we get to be old. Of course, that's an opinion, not necessarily an answer.

Shipping Tubes For Fishing Rods
The price depends on the wall thickness of the PVC pipe. The thinwall should be more than adequate for shipping rods. You can get caps for the ends, or threaded fittings and a plug for the ends. Use the cap, and glue it onto one end of the pipe. For the other end, you can use a cap and tape it, or for more security, a threaded coupling. Glue the smooth end onto the pipe and get a plug for the threaded end of the coupling.

The Adventures Of Listing Things On Craigslist And All The Fun I Had...riiiight
If you read my post, my comment was directed at deaknh03, not you. Raider is known for his "passionate" sometimes over the top actions. My understanding of deaknh03's comments was that he was thinking you might have run across Raider when you met the individual who wanted to buy your stuff. It was a jab at Raider, not you.
